Won't be getting a season ticket, and seen as though the walk up prices are ridiculous and I usually only know if I can go on the day, I won't be going to any pay on the day games either.
Probabaly attend the 2 or 3 kids for a quid days with my young uns,

Me and four mates also not renewing for various reasons. One things for certain I wont be fucking off to watch any other team. Will pick and choose the odd game next season. Each to their own.

Can anybody beat my record of not seeing Town win for over a year?.
The last time I saw Town win was March 1st 2014 (5 0 Barnsley at home) and whilst I had a season ticket last year, the football and supposed 'entertainment' meant I simply chose to do other things with some Saturday's and subsequently me and a Mate chose not to renew this time and go to an odd game (the other four did renew but are unlikely to next season so that's six down, it all adds up). Those matches for this season being:
Bournemouth (h) 0 4 Charlton (h) 1 1 (the only match I have enjoyed) Middlesbrough (h) 1 2 Fulham (a) 1 3 Birmingham (h) 0 1 (the performance was that bad I have not set foot in the place again) Charlton (a) 0 3
My season ticket debate got sorted last season and when I choose to go to home matches, taking trains, taxis, lunch, beer, £27 in etc, I don't have much change out of £80. I found the only reason I was going was meeting my Mates and the pre and post match. The middle bit was an unwelcome interruption.
If I am being honest, when I first stopped going, I was 'fighting myself' and going against what I actually wanted to do which was to go (when it's in you, you all know the score). You know though, not going becomes a habit the same as going and we play Golf now on a Saturday. Yesterday, £15 at Bradley park, had a great time and not in my usual 'annoyed' Saturday night mood that became the norm for me watching Town.
Fully intend to return, at some point. May even have a season ticket again, however, 2014 performances, the appointment of Powell (another rookie as clearly Robins worked) and our brand of football based on the matches I attended has been a few kicks too many for this Dog. That and not being able to remember how it feels to see Town win.
Some may say I am not, but I am still a Town fan, have been since my first match in 1977 and of course I want them to do well, but just from afar and the radio these days which for somebody that used to go home and away is quite sad really!. I didn't even bother with the radio yesterday.
I genuinely admire those of you that are sticking with it, good on you. I think there is also a place for the opinions of those that are not renewing and those that are and both sides should understand the others point of view.
Still keep an eye on DATM though and the usual suspects knocking about!.

Being a Huddersfield town fan has never been easy in the modern era. We all know that town have players that can compete with any in the championship , and then it comes down to Powell's motivation and managerial skills , Hudson's on field leadership skills and Mr Hoyle's backing. Mr Hoyle sits through most of the matches , and surely he can see the obvious failings of a woeful defence. Why hasn't Hoyle and Powell not done as promised at the start of the year , and brought in " championship quality " loan defensive players to shore up a very embarrassing leaking defence . Powell could have also used the remaining fixtures to see if he could put a successful working defence together ready for next season, as that could have been a massive advantage to the club if these players could have been gelled together and any problems tweaked through the close season. The last thing we want to see again are the similar start of season failings that we witnessed last season under Robins, and certainly little or no room for error at championship level otherwise you will be punished.

bottom half of the championship??
if you aim low in life you invariably miss, we will be bottom half, just how bottom is still in question..
major problem is we cant afford to be a bottom half championship club...

Why would we loan players this season in the hope of moulding them for next season when they won't be here? I do agree we should have done something about the defense but I don't think loans are the answer for next season.

I have no choice but to renew for the alternative is unthinkable. Either shopping with the Mrs or looking after the Grandchildren. Simples.

The customers wanted championship football! Now the same customers are wanting to desert the chairman that delivered it! Shame on you! He never deserted us! He might not have left but he changed his entire attitude to his spending and how things were been done. In l1 if a key oplayer was injured or even suspended a loanee would arrive, the desire and ambition to get promoted was plain to see. Away day on a tues night in london followed by the same at the weekend? In L1 we got hotels to keep us fresh, now we travel up and down. We now tell the fans we cant afford this and that and we have to be smarter with how we compete with so many teams with an embarrassment of sky money etc, and yet there is no evidence of been smart in the team play.

Come on fellow sufferers, I was born a Town fan & will die a Town fan, let's support our beloved Club. After supporting Town for 48 years, I'm not about to quit, I'm renewing for the reasons stated above. Dean's put approx £37million into Club, without him we'd probably still be in Division 2 - UTT.

26th April, 2003. Lost 5 – 1 to Port Vale in the last away game of the relegation season. Looked to be going out of business and the future was not rosy at all. I still renewed my season ticked for the next season as soon as they became available. Stop complaining about our current situation. Follow Town and renew for next season or shut and bugger off to do something you may find more pleasurable with your time.

It's not League 1 now though, is it? The price of existing got much higher and all you can do is berate him for not applying the same rules of spend, spend, spend. He's forking out hand over fist to try and keep us going (38 million quid and counting) and all you can do is moan, moan, moan!!! There's no magic wand with regards to team play. He's trying to get it right ffs!

Anyone who does not renew because they think Hoyle is not spending enough need to piss off in all honesty. It is Hoyle's 38 million quid not yours so stop telling him he needs to throw more of his money at it and support the club.

If you aren't renewing.....and I do understand for some it's a difficult financial decision, then why is there the need to tell every other bugger that you aren't doing so?! Is football overpriced? Yes Have dean and the board made a horlicks of some things? Yes Is the club in a massively better state since dean took over ? Yes Have many forgotten the 100 quid we charged six years ago when they bemoan the current prices ? Yes
Ffs this is our town.....our club. I am really frustrated with football and our club right now, but surely we have two choices. Quit and we spiral downwards, or regroup get together and push on. It's not easy and I have massive reservations re the manager .......but surely he deserves a transfer window to reshape the mess which the board and robins left for him after last summers appalling recruitment?

Excellent post Shawsie, totally agree, gave Lee Clark great financial backing, sacked Grayson when were going through a difficult period (no win in 13), Dean was very patient with Robins, Despite recent results being very poor, clearing out the deadwood was vital, I'm sure that was part of the brief given to Chris. The summer should bring in Chris Powell signings, surely he deserves that chance, or does Dean sack CP, to bring in a new manager. I hope Chris is given time & money to develop the team. GNobody in football seems to have any patience at all, let's show some loyalty, Robins left us with a very poor squad - Dean made a mistake by not sacking Robins last summer - UTT.

I'd be interested to read your considered reservations about our manager? Considered? That's quite a compliment for me!!!! I find Powell particularly strange in a few ways for what it's worth. By example:- 1. The lack of tempo and drive at home worries me. We look sleepy, slow and he never changes things proactively. 2. His transfer dealings although limited to date are dreadful .....holt apart. 3. No defensive improvement seen whatsoever since he came - despite change after change after change. Do we practice defending set pieces in training?! Do we allow simple long balls to bounce on the training ground as well, because it happens on the pitch in games far far too often. 4. His steadfast refusal to use Gerrard whilst the woeful Wallace and poor Edgar get game time baffled me. My biggest gripe though is the players don't look happy in playing the style he wants. They look around at each other as if to say is going on at times? I hope I'm wrong and that a good summer yields the signings to knit it all together....only time will tell I suppose.
