The customers wanted championship football! Now the same customers are wanting to desert the chairman that delivered it! Shame on you! He never deserted us! He might not have left but he changed his entire attitude to his spending and how things were been done. In l1 if a key oplayer was injured or even suspended a loanee would arrive, the desire and ambition to get promoted was plain to see. Away day on a tues night in london followed by the same at the weekend? In L1 we got hotels to keep us fresh, now we travel up and down. We now tell the fans we cant afford this and that and we have to be smarter with how we compete with so many teams with an embarrassment of sky money etc, and yet there is no evidence of been smart in the team play. No he didn't. He said since day 1 that he'd spend to get us up, but once there he'd try and make us more self sufficient. For us to b e self sufficient, all the toy chuckers need to renew.

I'm renewing next week too.
No football on a Saturday would not be the same. Our lass will expect to learn how to vacuum up or something of that ilk

Can anybody beat my record of not seeing Town win for over a year?. The last time I saw Town win was March 1st 2014 (5 0 Barnsley at home) and whilst I had a season ticket last year, the football and supposed 'entertainment' meant I simply chose to do other things with some Saturday's and subsequently me and a Mate chose not to renew this time and go to an odd game (the other four did renew but are unlikely to next season so that's six down, it all adds up). Those matches for this season being: Bournemouth (h) 0 4 Charlton (h) 1 1 (the only match I have enjoyed) Middlesbrough (h) 1 2 Fulham (a) 1 3 Birmingham (h) 0 1 (the performance was that bad I have not set foot in the place again) Charlton (a) 0 3 My season ticket debate got sorted last season and when I choose to go to home matches, taking trains, taxis, lunch, beer, £27 in etc, I don't have much change out of £80. I found the only reason I was going was meeting my Mates and the pre and post match. The middle bit was an unwelcome interruption. If I am being honest, when I first stopped going, I was 'fighting myself' and going against what I actually wanted to do which was to go (when it's in you, you all know the score). You know though, not going becomes a habit the same as going and we play Golf now on a Saturday. Yesterday, £15 at Bradley park, had a great time and not in my usual 'annoyed' Saturday night mood that became the norm for me watching Town. Fully intend to return, at some point. May even have a season ticket again, however, 2014 performances, the appointment of Powell (another rookie as clearly Robins worked) and our brand of football based on the matches I attended has been a few kicks too many for this Dog. That and not being able to remember how it feels to see Town win. Some may say I am not, but I am still a Town fan, have been since my first match in 1977 and of course I want them to do well, but just from afar and the radio these days which for somebody that used to go home and away is quite sad really!. I didn't even bother with the radio yesterday. I genuinely admire those of you that are sticking with it, good on you. I think there is also a place for the opinions of those that are not renewing and those that are and both sides should understand the others point of view. Still keep an eye on DATM though and the usual suspects knocking about!. I knew you wouldn't be able to keep away Indeed Ted!, to be honest, with me not attending matches at the moment, I am not best placed to offer opinion and debate thus not been posting. It's interesting that the only match I have enjoyed for a long time (granted I have not been fortunate in the ones I have attended) was Charlton at home when we were robbed and played in my opinion really well, when Lillis was in charge..........it was high tempo stuff, great to watch. The final nail for me was Birmingham at home, it was like a pre-season friendly / testimonial match. Our approach and attitude to that match was an utter disgrace. Now we have no right in a division with the quality of Teams that are in it to expect to win more matches than we lose. We do though have a right to see the right set-up / approach to a match, especially a home one and the right application, effort and attitude from the Players and Manager (if the other Team are better and win, I can stomach that). I left that day thinking to myself, well if the Players can't be bothered to turn-up, then neither can I (Birmingham were absolutely awful, dreadful and had we had a go and played high-tempo football with an attacking bias we would have murdered them), the type of football Lillis had us playing............ I would be back in a flash if Lillis found himself at the helm again and do not think I am alone. Okay, we didn't win every match, the football though was enjoyable to watch and I dare say there would be more bums on seats had he been given the gig for the season (and had he wanted it).

I'd be interested to read your considered reservations about our manager? Considered? That's quite a compliment for me!!!! I find Powell particularly strange in a few ways for what it's worth. By example:- 1. The lack of tempo and drive at home worries me. We look sleepy, slow and he never changes things proactively. 2. His transfer dealings although limited to date are dreadful .....holt apart. 3. No defensive improvement seen whatsoever since he came - despite change after change after change. Do we practice defending set pieces in training?! Do we allow simple long balls to bounce on the training ground as well, because it happens on the pitch in games far far too often. 4. His steadfast refusal to use Gerrard whilst the woeful Wallace and poor Edgar get game time baffled me. My biggest gripe though is the players don't look happy in playing the style he wants. They look around at each other as if to say is going on at times? I hope I'm wrong and that a good summer yields the signings to knit it all together....only time will tell I suppose. Thanks for the reply. Agree with points 2, 3 and 4 (especially point 3; Mr Powell was an International defender so I expected a drum tight back line within a couple of months of his arrival..) Don't understand the Gerrard/Edgar situation - Edgar - IMO - simply not good enough (well Brum mustn't have thought so either??) Gerrard looks like a "trouble at Mill" situation, but with the contacts our guys (Wilson - mentioned on here a lot last week) have, we could have got someone better to replace him?? Not sure about this entity called "tempo" which gets mentioned by the experts on MOTD etc. If I was a player and the manager told me to play with "tempo" I would be somewhat baffled....As far a i know it's a musical term usually to indicate the number of beats per minute. I expect that, related to our situation, we're looking for high speed passing and movement, lots of competition for the ball and tight marking of opposing players at all times?? I hope a modern pro footballer doesn't need to be told THAT!! There is, however, something that you haven't mentioned that I thought that you might: We sit opposite the tunnel, and over the last few years I have been known to "spit feathers" when I've seen two of our managers (Wadsworth - Ritchie) propping up that bloody post the holds up the dugout shelter. In a "normal" work situation if a boss behaved in such manner the motivation level of his staff would drop through the floor (liquidation would loom.) Maybe the lack of urgency that you mention is associated with sight of the boss propping that BLINKIN' post up? He doesn't look interested, goodness know what message the players are getting - but it sure won't be positive - get Jacko or Lee down there kicking every ball UTT

I like it when Town fans try and take the high ground over other fans by telling them to fuck off and support someone else.
