Chris Powell blogJust finished reading a book called 'And Did Those Feet...' by Charlie Connelly, who is a Charlton Athletic fan, and whilst swiftly visiting his website I came across a blog he wrote about Chris Powell. Fairly good read I thought. Now, I haven't seen many games this season and have yet to really witness how Powell conducts himself from the touchline, but this article gives me a good impression of what he would be like both as a person, and as a man-manager. Is that opinion allied with Powell's pitchside persona?

Nice guy but he bores the arris off me with his post match interviews I've seen this mentioned by several people. Bring back Lee Clark eh? He's answering questions put to him, not sure what he's supposed to do to make it entertaining. When we asked him about teacakes I thought he was very engaging. ;-)

I think he's doing a pretty good job .. but he doesn't inspire ... Our last four bosses have been different .. Clark .. bully.. Grayson .. minimalist... Robins .. scholarly ( and a bit deluded ) and Powell..nice but droney

2 posts for it to start to degenerate into a slanging match, is that a record? Tough one though with post-match interview. Holloway always gave a lively interview but I think it's a commonly held belief on here that he's a total cock.

Must say his interviews are as dull as ditch water and he just appears so laid back its untrue, thought I was laid back but this guy trumps me.

Im hoping he has now found a winning formula and knows his best team. Good end to season hope he goes for it from the beginning next season home & away 3-5-2 let the opp worry about us, showed that we are a match for anyone if we set up properly and maybe the defensive minded shackles have come off(but i wouldnt hold my breath) . Needs to sort out the left back/wingback situation, another Centre back in, Lolley develop and lets hope one or two of the U21's can bring it from the bench. Problem is i can see him going away and playing for the draw 4-2-3-1 hats ok against some clubs but imo the majority are there for the taking if you go for it ala Bournemouth style.

Cant comment on his post match interviews as I'm usually in canalside on my way to a Saturday night stupour.
The wife goes to a good deal of the pre-match interviews and records them so we can extract snippets of audio for the NSL social media, and she often comments about how the questions are generally the same, and Powell is saying the same things week in, week out.
The player interviews tend to be better and more revealing in honesty, some of them are clearly petrified by the experience, whereas others are very confident and enjoy answering the questions. David Edgar was Mrs Smooths favourite of last season, Connor Coady a close second.

I think he comes across well in interviews.
I sometimes find his team selection and refusal to change things around quite baffling.
Would I prefer any previous managers of late? Probably not. If he left now I wouldn't be devastated. I still think he has more to offer yet though.

He always comes across well. Just needs to be a bit more positive with his outlook on things during games, always seems to fear the worst

I like Powell. He is definitely one for football speak but I think he's pretty fair in his post match interviews which is key. Past mangers have done interviews which have left me wondering what game they were watching. Powell is postive which you need to be but generally balanced. We are improving under him & he is improving too I feel.
Next season we need to do better or be luckier with injuries to Vaughan/lynch/Hogg & keep rest fit. If we can I think we'll be top half, flirting with the play offs....
