Fair do's gledholt.. but we are a team playing in one of the biggest European leagues .. we have a market value and they are not a charitable institution .. hopefully it'll be good for them and good for town.. I just object to being told to be grateful in this instance

The guy is a town fan, who's been good enough to put a significant investment into our club and all people can do is moan about his business. It's a privilege to get sponsorship backers and they deserve fans to at least be grateful. The fact that the last two sponsorships have come from fans (Rekorderlig has/had a town fan in a senior marketing position) shows that blue chip businesses aren't exactly queuing up to give us their cash. Take the blinkers off; it is neither a 'privilege' (for us) nor do they 'deserve' anything. If you wish to put yourself or a company in the public eye, you have to bear the scrutiny of it. I don't think anyone's ungrateful for the injection of cash or taken issue with close ties to a fan - what has been called into question is the clubs image. Opinions, for what I can see, have been formed on the logo, the colour of the logo and perhaps the business (specifically their area of operation). Personally, id love us to return to the days without sponsorship - though I understand that it is not a viable option and we, as a sustainable club, rely on the investment.

I was proud of the YAA logo. Our value to advertisers (ie how much we can get out of them) is directly proportional to the "audience" league table someone showed on a different thread.

There's a lot of strange football fans They seem to get strong opinions on nothing and even start spouting on about the logic of decisions when they have absolutely diddly squat knowledge of the CBA performed. Probably reflective of the short-sighted, ill-informed rubbish you hear about tactics, transfer policy, etc.

On the face of it, they look like debt collectors to me. I get companies ringing me all the time, asking if I've any bad debts that need collecting, and they ALWAYS have liverpudlian accents. Make sure you keep up to those Zebra finance payments..... How much do you think it costs to get your logo on a Town home shirt? It'll be less than you think. Probably equivalent of a handful of executive boxes.

I didn't mind putting my hand in my pocket to support the club if we were taking a hit on shirt sponsorship.

We've gone from a well known global brand in rekorderlig to this, might aswell have got pink link on our shirts! Not impressed! Thats exactly what it was, a branding exercise. With the Chilli Marketing guys having being looking to capitalise on the value of that brand, and the subsequent sale of the Rekorderlig UK brand to Molson Coors, there was no way on earth that Town were going to retain Rekorderlig on the shirts this coming season. It was there because they had some affinity to the place and saw the value of association...remember Rekorderlig wasnt in the supermarkets when it first appeared on a Town shirt. Well known global brands arent everything, how did you like Vileda on the front of our shirts?! Pure Legal's money is worth the same as Red Bulls or McDonalds.

Threads like this are why most of the posters that used to contribute to proper debate on this forum have decided to sack it in. The amount of fucking nonsense written above is embarrassing.
The whole point of shirt sponsorship is to generate income for the club, therefore you go with the one that provides the best commercial terms. If the owner of that company happens to also be a Town fan, and the company is one that he's just set up, locally, then all the better.
The primary role of HTAFC is to play football at the best level possible. However, the secondary role is to help promote and develop the local community whilst doing so. This deal is a win on all fronts.
...and those on a forum critising the business plan of a company that you hadn't heard of 3 hours ago and have no idea about its history, goals, growth, plans, anything...get to fuck you boring c****. Go and actually do something with your lives rather than moan at others.

I think the Kirklees College deal was worth about £75K to the club, it'll be more than that now I should imagine. I suppose its relative to the size of your advertising budget, but Im pretty sure a savvy marketing agency could get you a hell of a lot more value for your 75-150k than sponsoring the Town Shirt. Maybe the owner is just minted and its a boost to his manhood, who knows. Its money into towns transfer kitty anyway so who cares really! Well he looks to be a successful business men who knows what he`s doing. Sold his last company which he set up in 2001 last year for 14 million.

Good on the bloke for injecting his money into the club he supports. Why are some people never happy unless they're moaning about something? If you don't like his logo, stump up some money ,outbid him and have your business's logo on the shirt!

People complaining about a pink logo. Absolutely unbelievable. I could, maybe understand it if we had a pink shirt, but this is moaning for the sake of moaning. Lets wait to see what the shirt looks like, then you can start moaning regardless of whether its nice or not. As I'm sure some of you will do.

Whats with all the hatred? Here are some mockups I've cack-handedly put together in MS Paint using last seasons shirt. Far from looking 'shit' I think the logo looks good, all guesswork at this stage however of course. Far better than a huge block of the 'wrong' colour on the front of the shirts to act as a background like some (Bolton's for example).
