You just know it's nailed on that if he leves to a championship rival he will have a completely healthy season and score about 25 goals.
But even with that I wouldn't have a problem with seeing him go as it'd free up his wage for someone else that might benefit the team/play more and be of greater value to us both on the field and in terms of resale value.

But if he left, PLAYED a full season for someone else, SCORED 25 goals - then you couldn't get anyone in who would be more beneficial to the team and have a greater resale value than James Vaughan himself!? Don't really see the logic in that?

Dean hoyle has played the right hand here. No one at the club has liked Vaughans professional attitude for the last year or so now and if he needed a reference to get work he'd be screwed (which he will be in 6 months if nothing has changed). The only people who will take him on are desperados like Fulham or Blackburn. He may bang in 20 goals for them, he has to do it for someone to ever play at this level again.
Really its upto the manager to ensure he does it for town.

How do you know nobody has liked his attitude? you are simply making things up,if he is fit he is as good a striker as any one in the division the problem is he is not fit very often. I would keep him I don't think DH has managed this very well he should have offered him the opportunity of another years contract if he Plays 30 games. He should not have told him at the start of the season his contract was not being renewed.

He should not have told him at the start of the season his contract was not being renewed. He was fit for virtually 30 games last season and never looked as good as anyone in this league. Unfortunately injuries have taken their toll with him and it's impossible to justify paying him what we do for what we get, even when he is fit.

He's taking the piss out of the club financially, he's played us, and hoyle has played him back. It's up to Vaughan to sort it out and the clock is ticking on His career.

Be a minor miracle if we find a club willing to take Vaughan off our hands on his current wage. It'd be a result if we found someone willing to pay 60% and we continue to pay 40%

Mrg is indeed correct regarding Vaughans professionalism/attitude around the place. Hardly surprising that the little clique has been one by one discarded. Peltier, Gerrard, Hammill pretty much & now Vaughan. Sooner he's out, the better.

Dean wouldn't have spoken as bluntly about him as he did without very good reason.

There is an irony in people going on about Vaughan's professionalism in the public domain.

Say what you want about his professionalism, his efforts that I witnessed on the field of play have shown no let up, particularly when last year he could easily have missed game time with the fractured cheekbone.
IMO nobody takes the piss out of the club financially, they are merely playing under a contract originally offered by the club. If the club feels it may be a piss take then don't offer that amount or length.
Generally everyone was delighted when he ignored other offers to sign for us, I think it's a bit rich now to use his 'professionalism' and his injury record (which was far worse before he signed) against him at this stage of his contract.
It works both ways for the players and clubs, as witnessed by us, Smithies had no real desire to leave and had multiple years of his contract to run and while he could have turned down the move to QPR, IMO it was clear that the club saw him as a saleable asset to aid squad strengthening.
I usually take a positive look at most things the club does but I find rumours about a players supposed professionalism being leaked into the public domain more than slightly ironic, particularly when an otherwise brilliant DH has a history and no issue of making derogatory comments about former employees at public meetings.

No sign of Vaughan, Bojaj on the bench Gone by Tuesday? Whether there's a deal pending or not I'd imagine he's been left out to make sure there's still the chance of shifting him and he doesn't pick up a knock.

How many minutes has he played this season?
And how much has he picked up in wages in that time?

What's he got today, Concussion still? "Leg injury"?
A huge waste of a large salary now.

You'll have to ask the bloke that picks the team that and whilst you're asking, please ask him why he hasn't picked Carayol to start today and why he hasn't strengthened the defence.

My first question would be regards Lolley and Dempsey and just how much exciting young talent he wants rotting on the bench.
