Leaves the club financially with £3.5m if correct. What it leaves the playing squad with is anyones guess. I am sure DATMs will have their own take on this issue.

You reckon? Who might they be? Hunt, Pilkington, Rhodes, Clayton, Coady, Smithies all moved on for way more than our investment in them. Find it pretty strange that even though it's been spelled out numerous times people don't understand the way we are moving the club forward. Unfortunately we are moving backwards now.

£3.5m and Jake Buxton (posted as a suggestion earlier by someone) would be a very good deal IMO. Less money and not taking Buxton would be better. Have you ever seen him play?

I wonder if replacements are lined up or do we have a plethora of mid-field players to choose from. Also keepers and strikers? Interesting times ahead.

Disappointing if true but understandable - the support isn't there
I take comfort in the fact we've done this "dance" before and come out stronger
Clayton, Coady, Butterfield even Norwood midfielders signed cheap and sold on for a profit.
Since Jan (ie were on the wage bill Jan 1st, think Holt went in Dec) we have moved out
Gerrard Peltier stead Patterson Smithies Dixon Carr Carroll gobern Coady Sinnott Crooks Ward Robinson/James (on loan) Majewski (on loan)
I dread to think what there wages combined would but it will be a few million
Maybe Vaughan and Butterfield to come
And signed
whitehead Dempsey Miller Davidson Cranie huws on loan Carayol on loa Hiwula (out on loan)
I'm all for a small squad but the academy products don't look up to it. Coady's money and the wage cost trimming should see us very close to break even so I would expect all the JB money reinvested (plus the Smithies money)
Could be a very busy day tomorrow. Everyone knows we need a few bodies but as clubs play casino decent players get pushed out and good deals can be done, eg I suspects there's some decent Championship players now surplus at Sheff Weds

Season on season we are improving, slowly but surely. You're not seriously suggesting we should judge things after 4 games are you?

I wasn't bothered when we sold Clayton, Norwood and Coady, but Butterfield is a different kettle of fish. Didn't the Chairman say he wouldn't be sold? And I'm sick of hearing his favourite sentence: 'We are where we we are' - this sounds defeatist to my ears. If Butterfield goes, it will be as bad as selling Stewart! But no doubt 'the Accountant' will be pleased.

To be fair I'd say it's a pittance for someone with his talent these days especially when everyone goes on about how expensive young English players are compared to bringing in foreigners Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

Powell still won't play Dempsey He is a tool if he doesn't and just sticks Huws in there. Clueless. KD did enough vs County in the cup game to let him have a start in the league

Ok let's not try and make any good of this deal by trying to dress it up with pretty whistles and bells, this is bad business especially if the reported figures are close to the mark,it's bad for the club,it's bad for the manager and it leaves the chairman with egg on his face whom I'm rapidly losing faith with and before everyone jumps down my throat on the negativity bandwagon the simple fact is we are yet again selling the type of player we should be building a team around, How do we ever settle with a balanced squad when the key components are constantly removed,if this deal happens then it will be a dark day for HTFC,I seriously feel the chairman is preparing for L1 next season

So we can now add a creative midfielder to our shopping list alongside a RB, CB and two strikers (presuming Vaughan leaves). 24 hours to spend some of the £7million+ we've received this summer.
