Time to get something off my chest.
Nigel Clibbens the bloke who uses a calculator to top up the brass has a kid in the academy. Gerry Murphy had a kid in the academy, Lee Sinnott had a kid in the academy, Dean Windass had a kid in the academy, John Charles grandson and I bet there is more.
Our academy isn't producing because it's a job for the boys. Sooner they stopped fucking about with giving scholarships to kids whose dad's are known the better. No wonder we aren't producing.

Not just us though.......and its the same with coaches. If youve played at a good level you can get a coaching / managerial job much easier. Jobs for the boys club in football.

I just don't think football at grass roots in UK is producing nowadays. Kids are interested in other things. Professional football does not connect with kids like it used to. I can't remember the last time I say young kids playing footy on a rec?
Less interest by young players = more of the good players being picked up by greedy league clubs and we get the likes of Danny racci etc.
I used to be obsessed with football and town. Now its a bit 'meh'. Too much money, players with stupid fucking tattoos and bright boots diving all over the shop. My son isn't massively bothered about football and I will not force him to enjoy it.
Blame sky, I do.

That's no disrespect to the kids in there but let me give you an example. Jake Charles can't get a sniff at Guiseley because a lad I know who plays in the same position is miles ahead of him. This same lad had trials at town and was told to leave because he was too small. It's bullshit. No way would he budge the mighty John Charles Grandson. Well he is being found out now!

Yeah if we could only identify an early twenties player that could score 9 goals in his first full season out wide without nepotism involved at all, someone like Harry Bunn ..... oh hang on a minute

Simon Charlton's father Wilf was an ex Town player as well, disgraceful it was!! And what about that there Brian Clough, how dare he let his son Nigel play for Nottingham Forest?!! What an absolutely stupid thread!!!

Been a lot of theories as to why the academy isn't producing players for the first team, but this is definitely the most wacky...

Nothing wrong whatsoever with asking why the academy isn't producing players - it's an important and valid question. The idea that it is because of the hundreds of kids in there one happens to be related to someone at the club is childish in the extreme though.

Do you have any evidence that Booty and Clibbens' lads are in the set up purely because of nepotism? If not, I don't see how it's a valid point. I was under the impression Regan Booty is playing ahead of his age level, although I'm happy to be corrected on that.

By the way if you want to throw insults try for something a bit more original than "happy clapper" it's childish and doesn't help any points you may be trying to make.
