Fucking buzzing, I feel a trip to France coming on. Wonder what my chances are of getting tickets on the resale?

Great to see Northern Ireland qualify and if they end up winning the group too, then that really is a fantastic achievement.. That and the sweaties failing to qualify for a NINTH time running has made my night!! The Poles scoring with the last kick was a proper laugh out loud moment!!

If you're Irish then fair play to you but i can never understand why us English applaud our close rivals when they do well when they all love it when we fail miserably.

I think that at least 60% of NI are pretty pro anything British (English) for obvious reasons, although 40% are definitely not, I suspect that there weren't many of the 40% in Windsor Park last night. NI Protestants - just like the people of the Falklands, more British than the British. Britishness is a a bit of a dirty word at the moment.

I'm not British, I'm English. I couldn't care less about the other sides, do you think Scotland will be cheering us on tonight or any other night? Will they fuck. English first, Yorkshire second, British never.

What this shows is get a good manager who knows his players n gets them playing above n beyond to a system n as a collective things can happen. At international level they are taking players from championship n below but done wonders.

It brings back the memories of the early to mid eighties when they qualified for the World Cup, Norman Whiteside and Gerry Armstrong anyone.
I always cheered on any of the 'home' countries after England. Yes, even Scotland in Argentina.

they qualified and now the home nations have 3 teams going to a major tournament, other than a fall out amongst numpty fans I cant see a downside to the extra interest that will have for next summer. Hope the Republic get there as well.. Norwood did a good job for them last night, thats something I havent said very often.

The hatred only went one way. Bit different now which maybe is a result of social media etc and the scots chip on shoulder hatred of the english ( sporting wise ) being more in everyones face. Talking to other lads about it now and everyone seems to find it hilarious they've failed yet again. They can stay at home and cheer on whoever England are playing as usual.

The republic's win against Germany now gives them a chance too, massive game for them in Poland on Sunday. Would be extraordinary if both Irish sides were in the Championships.

I love my country, I love my flag, I love my nationality. I'm a proud Englishman, and I'm not afraid to say it. In the same way a Jock would be proud to be Scottish.

Gotcha Im not advocating cheering them on.. just pleased that there is more all round interest if other home nations qualify as well.. we may well end up playing at least one of them in a group game.. socialise with people from all the home nations and it adds some 'spice' and stops them just hoping we lose.. nice to see teams that dont carry the 'burden'!!! of millions of pounds in wages and the quite resonable, imo, expectations of the England team, qualify..

It would be unfortunate if not as the island has a great record of contributing to England and it's way of life. It gives great support to English charities. It had substantial losses in both World Wars. 483 in World War 2 and 1,164 in World War 1. If you're Irish then fair play to you but i can never understand why us English applaud our close rivals when they do well when they all love it when we fail miserably.

As much as we are just some mildly intelligent hairless apes doomed to death on a globe of molten iron spinning around a nuclear explosion, for me anything beyond the Holme Valley is frankly disgusting.

I guess your percentage is based on experience but I, as a man from Northern Ireland support and have followed England for many years alomgside all of my relatives who live there too. I hope all the home nations and Ireland get there too, makes for a much better tournament and you only have to see the celebrations last night to see what it means to those fans

Just returned from a break in Scotland, I love it, I class myself as a Brit from Huddersfield in Yorkshire.
I wanted all the sides from the British Isles to qualify.
