I'm comparing our history over my own lifetime so I'd say it was a fair measure. You're argument centres around our success almost 100 years ago. Huddersfield were without doubt the best team for a decade in the 20's, when have Blackburn ever had that distinction. Drawing lines in history and disregarding anything prior to suit your argument is without doubt biased. If I disregarded the last 50 years then Town would be the giant of Yorkshire football - we can all play this game. Well ok Doc it's all about opinions and I perceive Blackburn to be the bigger club, no shame in admitting that. Some have based their argument on attendances only, but if we go down that road we are dwarfed by Bradford. A couple of seasons back Blackburn were able to reject a bid of £12 million for Jordan Rhodes. Big clubs can do that, could you honestly ever see us in that position? |

The last time we were in the top flight our attendance over the season was 15,000. I don't think there's any missing fans.

The last time we were in the top flight our attendance over the season was 15,000. I don't think there's any missing fans. That average is poor but it was for the relegation season. Town had 3 40,000+ crowds on their first season in the top flight, v Leeds, Man U and Stoke (FA Cup). Crowds were much more variable back then. No one had a season ticket so you decided on the day pretty much. So when you a team is consistently losing crowds tended to plummet more than they do now. |

I can only imagine these are the sorts of threads that the likes of Derby, Forest and Leeds fans would make on their board, you know, the sort that have won something in the last few decades and are still clinging to some sort of relevancy, even though nobody gives a shit about them now. sorry to be a moaning sod but who cares how big our club is supposedly is? |
