Huddersfield v Preston.
Annual report 15/16
Hi all, unfortunately I was at your place on Boxing Day with the whole debacle, and wondered why you guys weren't higher in the league. We are generally no pushover away from home, well organised and drilled. Not pretty, but effective, but then we do what we have to do to stay up this season. So after you guys kicked the shit out of us at your place, and got your just rewards. I couldn't understand it, was it just us, or was I missing something... (No answers, still) The only plus side, I thought was how friendly it felt at yours right down to the announcer going above and beyond to inform us bout the driving conditions home. Was a class act, and as a result have a bit of a soft spot for you guys, (I dunno, guess am easily pleased).
So on to today. There was no way on earth I thought we'd see a repeat, but once again, you absolutely battered is again. We were chasing shadows. Your number 29 is immense, really impressed. He was tackling, passing, anticipating in every area of the pitch. Cracking player. Look, today was one of those freak occurrences in football, and I'm not complaining, but you definitely know something about our tactics and how to play against us. On our games against you this season, I can't see anything majorly wrong, so u can't be too far from really pulling up trees.
Safe journey home to the great fans here today and all the best for the season.
See you next season (hopefully for us)

Incredibly frustrated today, genuinely cannot understand how we haven't won never mind lost.
Thanks for your comments though, absolutely spot on and refreshingly honest. Glad you said that about Phil Bill too, he was sensational.

People are not overreacting because we lost today. They are reacting because we have lost the past four games by allowing the opposition to score 12 goals in those four games.I am reacting to this by saying our defence is shit!If our management team do nothing about our defending and let it carry on as if there is no problem then we could be the be fighting to avoid relegation. As I've said in another post We have not lost the past four games because of poor refereeing, because we are not putting away our chances, because we have been mugged or because we are unlucky. It is because our defending is shite!

Thanks all, glad my post landed with the right sentiment. To be honest I'm generally a moaning Bastard about PNE, so it's not inclusive. U aren't going down. By default. Not while there is a Bolton, Charlton and at least three other pretty shite teams in this league. And you play good stuff, we couldn't get the ball of you, and position wise, you always had a man in the right place to pick up the loose ball.
Your defence was alright apart from 33, and 2 (I think it was 2, right back, smith?) they weren't great.
29 was Billing, yeah. He got some talent and he's enormous. I'd be chuffed if he came through our academy.

Need to sort out your traffic. First out of the car park onto Blackpool road. Took me an hour to get to that damn roundabout. that's just over a mile. An hour later only 2 miles from Holmfirth
We need a striker. Simple as.

Wells was one of our better performers today and obviously bagged the goal. He had a couple of other chances but as far as I could see, the main culprits for missing chances were Lolley and Paterson (among others). I think the 'need a striker' line is becoming a very easy excuse for people to throw out.

Plus we now have Hiwula back, hopefully he can chip in. I believe the defense is the biggest concern.

The OP is typical of what opposition fans have been saying about us since, well, since Wagner took over. The Boro manager said we looked like the team on top of the table, not them, and they beat us 2-0. Frustrating just isn't the word for the way results are going, despite many fine performances.

I think the 'need a striker' line is becoming a very easy excuse for people to throw out. Changing strikers late in a match is a pretty good defensive measure. It gives the opposition defence new legs to worry about and gives you someone who can press better. The problem we have at the moment is we have no adequate replacement for Wells, so he stays on. And if he's having a bad game there's very little we can do about it.

But now ain't one of em... The wins will come because the performance levels have , by and large , been really good... I'm 100% sure we have the best chairman and manager in the league.. 100% sure we ain't going down. 99% sure we will finish above the mighty shites and win me some dough, and 99% sure we are going to splash some cash and push on to new heights.. Preston were poor. Very poor. No idea how they are mid-table. Looked a very limited outfit. Fair play to them for picking up so many points.

Are we really that unlucky or missing a decent CB and a more clinical finisher?

It was easier to quote your four letter reply agreeing with someone else's opinion.
