Noticeable that both D.W and D.H thanked him for efforts on and off the pitch. Hope he goes AWOL for both matches vs Town. Also just heard Schindler on 92.4fm and can confirm he talks fluent English and a sight better than the average English player - he's not interested in the record fee, the money for footballers is getting ridiculous!!

Thanks for all your effort Joel. Fantastic work with the Town Foundation, as well as your commitment to our cause on the pitch.

echo the sentiments....good luck and thanks for your efforts Joel - poor injury record at times but never gave less than 100% when he played and at times was a colossus. His off field work is to be commended also - sad to see him go but fully understand his decision and barring when he plays against us hope he does well.

My favourite player over the last 2 seasons, good luck to him, apart from the obvious 2 games. I AGREE AND YES HE DID SOME GREAT WORK WITH THE FOUNDATION AND DESERVES THE THANKS HE HAS BEEN GIVEN.

Really sad to see Lynch go. Been our best player for a while IMO, which is impressive as hes been carrying his centre back partner whilst doing it. Not sure what was the issue when he first signed for us but he was a dead loss. Mistake after mistake, a walking red card at times and looked half assed like he really didn't want to be here. But hes totally won me over these last 2 seasons. Best wishes to the guy and hope the deals better than theyre reporting on sky news!

I heard that Lynch has wanted to move for 6 months and that he got caught taking the piss out of Wagner. Calling him a "Stupid German" in his accent. That's come from an ex player. Wouldn't be surprised if this is true going by Wagner's comments today

What a fool I've been! Good luck, Joel. Thanks for your service.

Our only genuinely top class player for the last 2 seasons. An absolute beast when on form. Very sad to see him go and wish him all the best. If our new replacements are of roughly the same standard, we'll have the best defence in the Championship.

Hmmmmm ... I don't really get all this outpouring of grief and well-wishing; it's a bit like the bloody awful culture of swamping street corners with flowers and gloopy dedication cards for someone you never knew. Lynch did OK, most of the time. I could - but I won't - trawl back through here for numerous posts/threads berating and mocking him. Let it go - there's far better than him out there and, if we're lucky, we've already replaced him with much better.

If it is true, why publicise it? If it is true, can you tell me what's wrong with it? If it is true, why link it with demons? And if it is true, why make jokes about it? And for my next trick, I'll crack a few gags about cancer and heart disease.

My favourite memory of Lynch is probably his sending off at Hillsborough in our first Championship season. He must have ran about 40 yards in a straight line towards the touchline without a prayer of reaching the ball. There only looked to be one outcome, as he absolutely clattered straight through their bloke, out of touch! No complaints with the red card...
I'm glad to say he calmed down a bit in the following seasons!
