Only 3 players have completed more than 1,000 accurate passes this season: - Mooy (1,179) - Hogg (1,064) - Cairney (1,018) Surprised about Hogg to be honest. Thought Hogg had a terrific game yesterday (after saying he was a little under par at Blackburn).

Saw a different side to Mooy yesterday. He battled like crazy and really snapped into tackles. I didn't think he could get any better but he looks fitter and totally up to speed with Championship football. And what about that volley and that touch and spin around the defender. Quality, quality, quality.

On a par with Dean GorrΓ© π Gorre had a few sublime moments but he had nothing like the influence on the whole game as Mooy does. Shame we only have him for one season. Don't think I've seen a better or more influential midfielder for us than Mooy. Maybe Jimmy Nicholson.

With Gundogan out for an extended period Man City are light on for pure centre mids, is there any possibility that Mooy could be recalled in Jan? Pep certainly needs to replace Ilkay in Jan as evidenced as how short they'll be this week with Fernandinho missing as well.

Would be surprised if we've agreed to the deal without a non-release clause for precisely this reason.

The answer is for what seems the umpteenth time on here, there is NO recall clause. Man. City cannot recall him, he cannot play for any other team this season come what may- no exceptions.

There does not need to be a recall clause; If the clubs and the player agree in writing then the loan may be terminated but only during the transfer window. 53.1.2 any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the second (January) Transfer Window; 53.1.3 any other early termination of a Standard Loan must be by way of a mutual agreement in writing (including by way of a recall clause within the Standard Loan Agreement) between the Transferor Club, the Transferee Club and the Player but can only be completed after the expiry of 28 days and only during a Transfer Window linkAn exception is made for goalkeepers. If Liverpool were down to 1 fit professional keeper they could recall Danny Ward but he wouldn't be allowed to resume his loan when circumstances changed.

I only got to see the second half on TV tonight but he looked a class act again. Seemed to be at the centre of everything for us either helping in the build up play going forward or an important defensive force before the ball got as far as our back four and sometimes even as far back as that. He's got an engine to match the ball skills.

Absolute monster of a player. Superb defensively tonight & even finds a way to compete aerially. That rare and beautiful thing of a technically gifted and creative player with heart and fight & even an appetite for tackling. He's clearly loving it at town and in this league against very good opposition at times.

Truly unbelievable player, the only thing lacking in his game is his set piece delivery, which often leaves a lot to be desired

Taken from a Newcastle forum -
"We should buy that Mooy for cover for Shelvey then sell him in the summer.
Looks a good player, hell probably only play a handful of times for us if we were to sign him. However it'll further highlight our dominance if we are taking the best players off play off sides with little intention of actually playing them.
Also we do need cover for Shelvey and he's pretty much exactly the same type of player."
Cover for Shelvey! π

newcastle fans are bizarre, after we beat them they absolutely despised shelvey. More fickle than us when we havent won in a few matches.

51 pages on Mooy. Wow.
Just been talking to a city fan at work after their win against Arsenal tonight, would he have a chance in cities midfield next season? I think with a bit of perseverance he could but obviously because no regular city fan has heard of him before he won't.
Think he could be an upgrade on Yaya but I'm obviously biased.
Thoughts?
