Can definitely turn this into an Icelandic-esque 'Mooy' chant

"I'm delighted to join Huddersfield Town Football Club, ahead of what I'm sure will be a really exciting season," he said.
"Huddersfield are a progressive club and are an ideal fit for me to achieve my goals for the coming year."
Mooy's agent, Paddy Dominguez, said the West Yorkshire club would be a "great next step" under coach David Wagner, a former colleague of Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp.
"Every decision Aaron has made has been strategically planned with a view to him having a good opportunity to get a lot of games and work with the right coach," he said.
"David Wagner has done brilliant work with Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund and is exactly the kind of coach that will help Aaron progress his game to the next level."

Sounds like he was a good talent in Aus (although we've heard that before) The Aussies can't believe he's joining us on Twitter seem to think he should be Prem already! Couldn't comment on that but I think they may underestimate what a step up it is from their league to the best in the world... Must have something for Pep to sign him though you'd think. Let's see what the lad's got

Of course, as an ACTUAL international (hi Jason😚) we'll lose him for a week in September, a couple of weeks in October, and a week in November with the Soceroos World Cup qualifiers.
Going to be difficult for him to establish himself, but I guess that's part of the journey for the lad...just needs to work hard and be there ready to pounce when injury/tiredness/suspensions kick in across that midfield. Suspect he'll be a 'squad player' rather than a key match changer.
Not sure what it says about Dempsey though?

Hate so say this but Davidson and Mooy are the same age, but Davidson has played 6 times more for Australia.

Strange career so far to say the least! I guess he must be a late developer, I'd say if Man City have signed him as a 26 year old he'll be expecting to play for Town not be a 'squad player'. No idea what type of midfielder he is but 11 goals and 20 odd assists suggest this may mean we've given up on Paterson? A very impressive signing on paper.

Does this mean we are no longer after that young lad from Chelsea on a season long loan? He was a midfielder too.

I'm pretty blasé about this to be honest. He could be great, but it feels like 'the City network' and his agent just wanted to find a Championship team in which he'll get game time, so they can sell on and get some profit. I could be wrong of course.

They don't get the time off as holidays!! It's a chance to recover from knocks and reinvigorate the system, he won't be doing that with 24 hr flights to meet up with team mates followed by another 12 hours trip each way to get to the far flung destinations they play in, and 24 hours flights back. It takes a good 3 or 4 days to switch mentally on off the back of that (I know, having watched my daughter fall asleep whilst crossing the road in Sydney!)

It's highly unlikely Davidson will get a future call up having lost his berth to the two younger lads in the recent internationals.

I've no real idea what the point of Dempsey is, some people tell me he's decent but he just reminds me of Chris Holland / Oliver Norwood in terms of what he brings.

I could be wrong of course. I don't think that this is necessarily far from the truth. City brought him over to protect their umbrella company investment in him, as he was out of contract. Give him a three year deal, loan him out in the first year and probably then be in a position to sell him next summer - they must believe that he will have the potential to fetch a decent fee otherwise why bother retaining him in the first place? He looks like a decent player and is highly thought-of down under, so this could actually prove to be a very good signing. probably more likely to have a serious impact than a kid from an Academy due to his experience, age and profile - not that this would necessarily proclude the Palmer signing as well.

I could be wrong of course. That's exactly right, but we're a club with the chance to get a supposedly quality number ten for a season for free, paying likely nominal contribution to his wages. If we can add more strength to the team and keep our budget for other areas we'll be in great shape for next season. I was hoping for Palmer though...

[/quote] I dislike that I've just learned he's called "Moy" (as in David Moyes without the S), he was a much better signing when I thought it was pronounced "Mooey", like a cow. (And my Mooy to Udders pun no longer makes sense).

How much did he cost City? £8,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (That's how much he will cost when the Economy goes to rat shit)
