Im thinking of driving but could do with some town fans to share the fuel cost. As promised, i got the job but wont be paid for 2 weeks so still brassic. I live in rochdale and can pick folks up on the way down if needed, any volunteers to be bored shitless by an OAP (nearly)? 1 seat gone, 2/3 remaining. PS it wont get cheaper if you're a foreign student

Looks like they've been doing alright at home this season. Maybe not the best of fixtures for Town historically by given current circumstances I'm hoping for a win and hopefully a good one to avenge Wagners previous trip down there.
A draw would be decent ultimately but we're in good form and have a full weeks rest to add to the fact were the fittest team in the league. They have a mid week game away to Brighton and have a key player suspended. All the more reason to go for the win.

If anyone likes a good football story read. The greatest footballer you will never see: The Robin Friday story.
He was reading player of the season 2 years running in the mid 70s. Before retiring at 25. And died of a heart attack in his mid 30s.
People say he was good enough to play for England. It makes you wonder what other "what if" players there have been in the game and what happened to them.

There's a great picture that they used as the front cover for the single, with Friday giving the Vs to a dejected keeper just after he scored. I've got it on a corridor wall at home.

Reading looked to be trying to play in a similar way to Town when I saw them on telly but nowhere near as good, not even close in fact. Having said that their league position suggests they are doing something right. I think I'm spoiled to be honest watching Town, I find myself bemoaning the quality on display in most premier league games I happen to see any of Some of our play on Saturday was just awesome!

Said pretty much the same at half time on Saturday. Makes you wonder what we can do if we can keep it up for 90 minutes.

Howler Radio do a podcast of football stories, and "The Ballad of Robin Friday" is one of those episodes. Its a good listen (actually, all of their episodes have been IMO)

Their manager fancies them, Unexamined reporting how he thinks their defence will withstand us. Could be a bit similar game to the leeds one ....hope for same same result

Referee is James Linington. Last time he reffed us we lost 3-0 at Charlton.

We haven't been awarded a penalty yet this season have we? I think the stars will align for this game and all karma to be repaid.
This is the game where we give someone a proper tonking which we've been threatening to do so far in every game. We'll get a penalty to make up for all the non-calls we've had against Reading the past few seasons, they'll get a red for the same reason. We're league leaders and always attack - bout time we get some good decisions from the ref! Bournemouth would get a penalty whenever they entered the oppositions half in their promotion season!

Tom Segal who is "pricewise" in the Racing Post is a season ticket holder at Reading and in his Sunday column was "calling all insomniacs, come to Reading, that will send you to sleep",or words to that affect....it seems they like to keep the ball but don't do a lot with it which was a bit like us at times last season as Wagner was beginning the revolution.Hopefully we are a season in front of how they see themselves playing and we can come away with all three points. To me this is one of those teams that if you win away from home you really are top six candidates.

Reading were promotion rivals but we destroyed them on a Friday (no pun intended!) night game I think. Won about 3-0 and if it hadn't been for their legendary keeper Steve Death, we'd have had double figures. Unfortunately, they went up and we just missed out.

Looking on their message boards it appears most Reading fans are expecting a loss or draw from this game and would be happy with a point. How times change!
