I shall be watching this in a pub in Newcastle. I may have to be restrained with any celebrations...

Just been having a drink with various Toon and Tykes supporters in my local. Toon supporter was seriously concerned at e games in a week against the rest of top 4 without 2 of their best players. Tykes fan was off to put money on us to win championship at 14/1 before odds get slashed when we beat them.
I was convinced our good run wad bound yo end sometime soon. I have obviously been supporting too long. 🤔

Tykes fan was off to put money on us to win championship at 14/1 before odds get slashed when we beat them. I was convinced our good run wad bound yo end sometime soon. I have obviously been supporting too long. 🤔 The 3 away games are tough but the loss of Gayle is something we've coped with since the end of January. We (Newcastle) were better when he went off on Saturday. I don't know who the 2nd of our missing best players is, I would have been much more worried if we were playing without Shelvey who has a wand of a right foot and can hit a pass to anybody when he's up for it. Rafa has the players under control and complacency against the lesser team we're due to play is very unlikely. Earlier in the season we did see complacency at home against teams that we should have been but weren't beating, I don't think we've shown any complacency away. We've got the best away record in the league but who we have and haven't played is part of that reason. We still have our toughest 3 away games to come and they could go any way, we could win three, draw three or lose them all, not that I think we will lose them all. We have the best squad in the division and that will be a big plus for us because when Gayle is injured we bring in a Serbian international. If our first choice keeper gets injured we can bring back one of our best players from last season. If we need to freshen up the defence we have a player who was our best defender last season and a player who has just had an excellent African Cup of Nations, Atsu who plays on the wing was in the team of the same competition and I could go on. One of our best players is Matt Ritchie and he's only one booking away from a suspension but Atsu would likely replace him which might even turn out to be better for us as Atsu can be really good and Ritchie then gets a mini break. Our next three away games are huge, any mistake by any of the top 3 could easily be corrected in April when squads should really make a difference when tiredness kicks in. The promotion places are unlikely to be sorted before April and no fans of any of the top 3 should be worried until then. We're supposedly the team under pressure, Rafa will manage that and we have players who are used to pressure so should be able to cope but anything can happen and when we're involved, it usually does,

Bags of experience in geordies squad. Rafa bought very sensibly in summer. Promotion is all to play for. 2 from 3 for automatics now. Can't wait!

I ordered 33 tickets earlier (I actually did). I fully expect I'll be given the freedom of the Town, and invited to dinner with the Mayor for my selfless efforts in boosting the reputation of the football club, as well as the principality of Huddersfield. Just how many kids have you got??

The day of the match is usually OK, it's the days between them that does my head in thinking what might happen and what might not.

TBH I'm not ready to rule out any of the top 6 from autos. Wendies & Beeston are only 2 wins behind us. I think it's probably a help that we've already played both games against all the top 6 bar Newcastle, but it could be interesting (aka nerve wracking) watching what happens in the games where they've all got to play against each other.

The problem will be playing against the likes of Fulham and Norwich, Cardiff City and maybe Preston..teams currently on good form...and we've got to play all of them..throw in the odd shock result or two (like Wigan and Blackburn) and trips to Brentford, Derby and Wolves...and Barnsley tomorrow. I'd rather be playing fellow top 6 teams who've got the same jibbering anxiety that we have...

Shelvey can hit a pass to anyone, when he's up for it😁 that's the kind of player a team pushing for promotion needs,100% if he can be arsed Including Danny Ward about 8 times at their place and the Villa 'keeper about 4 times on Monday. I wouldn't swop Mooy for 3 Shelvey's. Additionally, just getting a bit sick of these so called bigger clubs talking about "depth of Squad" "squad Quality" Newcastle and Brighton make 8 changes for a cup game and lose to Oxford & Lincoln whilst we make 8 changes and beat Rochdale who are higher opposition then make 7 changes against a team in the Champions League and draw. And please don't anyone mention City making 8 changes as their changes are swopping Aguero for Gabriel Jesus and then bringing on £100m worth of subs on the hour. We have the best squad in this league.

The other top 6 teams haven't shown the form that suggests they'll claw back points on the top 2. I think our defeat of Leeds this year was especially hurtful- They came into the fixture the best they've been for 10 years and were then totally outplayed by a side who looked on a different level. They have wobbled since. Reading were decent but didn't really look like they can hurt the stronger teams. Wendies well they just seem to put as many highly paid players on the pitch at one time and hope for the best. The 3 best teams are where they are and fighting for automatics. Remember the dropped points against Blackburn and robbed points against Wigan would've seen us in those positions. We need Hogg back & wells, brown fit and we can do it. We have the momentum coming into the home straight...& we have real belief in the squad and in the town.

Shelvey isn't fit to lace the wizard of oz's boots Very good all round player is Shelvey and very strong. Battle of the baldies will be tasty but we desperately need Hogg alongside. It's the Hogg Mooy axis which has us where we are this year/ the best midfield in the league. Two more committed, hard working, skilful and consistent players you will not find elsewhere in the league. Whatever happens this year those boys have had the seasons of their lives. I hope they get the reward they deserve.

Just get the feeling that this " ON FIRE " Huddersfield team can beat anybody in this division at the moment especially in the home fortress.
Some on the Reading F C forum seems to think that the noise created by Town fans was the best they have heard in years
Newcastle are little different to the likes of Brighton W , L--ds scumbags W and Reading W .
Town are the only team that have been in the top 6 all season
Also seems opposition teams are more worried about us than we are them.
