Evidently we're trying to make up a rivalry with Wednesday and our real rivals are Rochdale or Halifax, I hope the Town fans lucky enough to have tickets for tomorrow show due respect at the cathedral of football that is Hillsborough and appreciate Wednesday lowering themselves to play us. They have to be some of the most tedious, cringiest c**ts we've ever encountered

Let's see how "the cauldron" (Since when was shitty Hillsborough called that? Have they just made it up?) reacts when they've had 30% possession and we're hunting them down in packs. Let's see how it goes when they've reduced to long balls and knock ons, with Hef and Schindler standing tall. And then when Smith hits the byline and pulls it back onto Kachunga's head at the near post. Let's see how the "noise" is then. We're gonna gegenpress the shit out of them and I can't wait. I will offer balanced arguments on both sides generally and this comment deserves a reply. Firstly, Hillsborough has an excellent atmosphere when near capacity. The figures suggest that we are generally victorious when the crowd is above 30k. Secondly, I understand that we played poorly (and defensively) on Sunday and as a result you may believe this is the way we have played all season. However, we can play some sublime football and I think you're taking us for granted. Thirdly, regarding your overall generalisation that Huddersfield are an excellent ball-playing, slick side your goal difference really does beg to differ. Couple this with the fact you got mullered in virtually every game in the latter end of the season, I think you're being very confident. As impressed as I was with your display on Sunday, much of it was down to us allowing you time on the ball and allowing you to press us. You failed miserably to exploit us, huffed and puffed, but really I can only remember Westwood being tested once during the entire game. Firstly, Hillsborough has an excellent atmosphere when near capacity. The figures suggest that we are generally victorious when the crowd is above 30k.Well that's like your opinion, man. I guess we'll see tomorrow night. Secondly, I understand that we played poorly (and defensively) on Sunday and as a result you may believe this is the way we have played all season. However, we can play some sublime football and I think you're taking us for granted.Your manager makes a big thing about setting up to counter the opposition. You've played us three times this season and played exactly the same way - sitting back and trying to catch us on the break. And you were successful at that earlier in the season, when these were games in the middle of other games (plus helped by a penalty in one game and a red card in t'other). The situation is very different now, and if we keep our concentration levels high, like they were on Sunday, then this defensive strategy may well struggle again. Thirdly, regarding your overall generalisation that Huddersfield are an excellent ball-playing, slick side your goal difference really does beg to differ. Couple this with the fact you got mullered in virtually every game in the latter end of the season, I think you're being very confident.Where did I say this? I said that we'd gegenpress you and hunt every ball - that's what allows us to dominate possession, the fact that we look to retain the ball as soon as we lose it. It requires fitness, but those triple training sessions weren't for nowt. As impressed as I was with your display on Sunday, much of it was down to us allowing you time on the ball and allowing you to press us. You failed miserably to exploit us, huffed and puffed, but really I can only remember Westwood being tested once during the entire game. That's once more than you managed Seriously though, you set up to put 10 men behind the ball, 3 men on each winger, and to hoof every ball that you could out of your half. We found it really difficult to break through, which is fair enough, you were playing for a 0-0. But if you do that again tomorrow then your crowd will get restless, the nervousness will start to set in and 'the cauldron' will turn in to 'the wet blanket'. Alternatively, you could try to play us at football. Though with the very short turn around between games it seems unlikely that you'll change the strategy that you've used against us three times this season.

The way that Wednesday fans have swung their cocks about this so called Galatasaray style atmosphere they will create, they really have to deliver something special now to avoid total embarrassment. If we score early, you wont hear a fucking thing from them. They only sing when the going is good. Look at wembley last year. Good numbers but shit support when the team nees them. The irony of you saying our support was shit at wembley when you couldnt even sell out the play off first leg. No one said it would be like going to turkey either, Hillsboro when full is noisey, its a simple fact, we wont need clappers or carlos begging us to come or even text messages

The idea that Hillsborough is going to be a seething mass of noise and that our players are going to shat themselves as soon as they step onto the field is laughable.
Danny Ward - played in the Euros for Wales. Schindler/Heff/Lowe/Kachunga/Quaner - played in Germany in front of bigger, more hostile crowds than Hillsborough will be. Mooy - full international, has probably played in front of some intimidating crowds for Australia.
We've been to Newcastle and Leeds and won. Come back to draw at Villa after being under the cosh for an hour. Broken hoodoos at Norwich and Ipswich.
No reason to be worried about Hillsborough,

What kind of freak comes on another teams forum, pretending to support that team whilst bigging up the team they actually support. Then forgetting they did it and coming back on here. Get counselling or something you lunatic.

Hopefully your doing the same. Our atmosphere has been nothing short of brilliant for the last few seasons - especially this season when a unique bond has been made with our manager and the players , not forgetting our great chairman. The Town fans have genuinley been the 12th Man and got behind the team whether we have been winning or losing - the players have been truly lifted by this high level of support - we have been with them all season and the atmosphere on Sunday was the same more or less as it was when we played Rotherham on a Tuesday evening in November (think it was November).......... Many opposing supporters have come on to our board and complimented the atmosphere saying it was the best they have witnessed for years , if not ever - that's for real. We have had a brilliant season , well deserved that we finish in the playoffs and no fluke if we go up......... Huddersfield Town are a great club steeped in tradition and indeed won enough trophies and medals to hold their own against most clubs including Wednesday........... Both our players and supporters will be ready tomorrow night and as always we will leave nothing in the locker as we look to knock you out in round 2. Dust off your "brass band" and let the game commence - The Terriers are ready for the fight.

Brass bands, bouncey bouncey songs, fat topless oafs leading your support every game.

I'm going to quote another favourite poster any Wednesday fans needing to come on here and give it large are basically weapons grade bell ends. Let's see what happens tomorrow night. You may be a bit less smug if you're done by a smaller team with a fraction of the resources. All this chest beating is to convince yourselves nobody else. Why? Because you're worried.

As the noise increases and the cauldron (hahaha) builds - can it be handled?. this is the big question for the players and indeed supporters of Sheffield Wednesday, they just aren't used to it. hillsborough or as it it sometimes known "Sheffield library" is just not used to being anything other than a dull old run down football stadium - lost and left behind by more fashionable football clubs who have devoloped "modern stadia" with passionate fans that get behind their team no matter what. they have one hope - maybe they can be driven on by the South Yorkshire brass band - that is if they are not double booked and are already playing at a church event or local feat , how's it go ... Der de de ta - der de de ta ....etc etc........ Classic tribal football song ....... Puts fear in to many a visiting supporter. Freezing on the night has to be a fear for the little owl - 28k home fans can be daunting......... season 2010/11 saw the "Massive" packing them in with a average of 17k ....... And that was boosted by the 5k away following from The loud and proud Huddersfield Town. Oh the irony, from a fan of a club who had 18k supporters for their biggest game in half a century, driven on by, yep you guessed it, West Yorkshire brass band! I think you need to concentrate on what happens on the pitch, because you aint gonna win any titles off the pitch!
