As the noise increases and the cauldron (hahaha) builds - can it be handled?.
this is the big question for the players and indeed supporters of Sheffield Wednesday, they just aren't used to it.
hillsborough or as it it sometimes known "Sheffield library" is just not used to being anything other than a dull old run down football stadium - lost and left behind by more fashionable football clubs who have devoloped "modern stadia" with passionate fans that get behind their team no matter what.
they have one hope - maybe they can be driven on by the South Yorkshire brass band - that is if they are not double booked and are already playing at a church event or local feat , how's it go ... Der de de ta - der de de ta ....etc etc........ Classic tribal football song ....... Puts fear in to many a visiting supporter.
Freezing on the night has to be a fear for the little owl - 28k home fans can be daunting......... season 2010/11 saw the "Massive" packing them in with a average of 17k ....... And that was boosted by the 5k away following from The loud and proud Huddersfield Town.

The way that Wednesday fans have swung their cocks about this so called Galatasaray style atmosphere they will create, they really have to deliver something special now to avoid total embarrassment. If we score early, you wont hear a fucking thing from them.
They only sing when the going is good. Look at wembley last year. Good numbers but shit support when the team nees them.

They are going to boo and whistle every time we touch the ball.

Surprised that fans of a club who have spent multi-millions of pounds acquiring players of "quality" only seem to have "noise" as their main threat in beating us.
Having already played at Villa, Newcastle and L**ds this season and coming away with 7 points...it won't phase us.
As Kachunga said before the Leeds game....(something along the lines of)....I've played in front of 80,000 at Dortmund, Elland Road won't be a problem.
We won 1-0.

Can really turn this to our advantage. Keep'em out for 25 mins, boss posession and the grumbles and moans will start.

Gonna piss down all game, so they'll be singing/crying in the rain, should be nice, dry & very loud in top tier!

It's more pressure on the Wednesday players - fans like this can turn as quickly...a few bad passes, misplaced cross ? Town just need to ride the early storm and settle into our normal style, that's if Wednesday decide to play full on...all or nothing football. Will Carvalhal abandon his cautious style and let rip ? Could be a humdinger, end to end game this..

Let's see how "the cauldron" (Since when was shitty Hillsborough called that? Have they just made it up?) reacts when they've had 30% possession and we're hunting them down in packs. Let's see how it goes when they've reduced to long balls and knock ons, with Hef and Schindler standing tall. And then when Smith hits the byline and pulls it back onto Kachunga's head at the near post. Let's see how the "noise" is then.
We're gonna gegenpress the shit out of them and I can't wait.

I think Wednesday fans will get behind their team tomorrow whatever the match situation .. it's a huge game for them . But I don't see it as being concerning for us

But I don't see it as being concerning for us Don't agree - classic fair-weather fanbase. However, I do think the noise will be great from them in the opening parts of the game (and continue so long as they're performing), so we need to make sure we're on top from the off.

As Atletico Madrid are moving to a new stadium, they don't need the name anymore, so The Wendies have taken it.
The Vicente Cauldron Stadium.
Sorry !

I don't think there's any question about them making noise.
It won't be a deciding factor on the way our players play. Wednesday fans on here seem to be making out we are visiting downtown Baghdad. Hillsborough isn't an intimidating ground to visit.

Hopefully we don't get to Wembley, our players will be far too shy and retiring to play in front of 70000 ?!
It's all a farce over nothing...30000 fans don't make a significantly more intimidating atmosphere than 20000.

I will offer balanced arguments on both sides generally and this comment deserves a reply. Firstly, Hillsborough has an excellent atmosphere when near capacity. The figures suggest that we are generally victorious when the crowd is above 30k. Secondly, I understand that we played poorly (and defensively) on Sunday and as a result you may believe this is the way we have played all season. However, we can play some sublime football and I think you're taking us for granted. Thirdly, regarding your overall generalisation that Huddersfield are an excellent ball-playing, slick side your goal difference really does beg to differ. Couple this with the fact you got mullered in virtually every game in the latter end of the season, I think you're being very confident. As impressed as I was with your display on Sunday, much of it was down to us allowing you time on the ball and allowing you to press us. You failed miserably to exploit us, huffed and puffed, but really I can only remember Westwood being tested once during the entire game.

And allowed us to press you I take it you've asked us not to press you tomorrow then? Plus the cheeky lob goes 2 feet wider of its central position and it's a goal. 200ms more time for Izzy and his stretch onto the crossbar is an easy goal with their keeper nowhere near. 0-0 can be quite close to 3-1 (with a bit more composure Hunt could perhaps have done better with that opportunity where he was clean through but the ball blinded up into him and he just pushed it out for a goal kick). We will win 3-1 tomorrow as the what-ifs get delivered.

We may be confident but the vast majority are not taking you for granted. That along with condescension are the preserve of the average Wednesday fan as it clear on any forum you may look at regarding the playoffs.

Apparently, Hillsborough is going to 'rock' on Wednesday!
One of my favourite snippets:
"We will be loud. The atmosphere will be electric. We will score the first goal which will send the place crazy. It will destroy Huddersfield and there will be no way back for them. Job done."

Evidently we're trying to make up a rivalry with Wednesday and our real rivals are Rochdale or Halifax, I hope the Town fans lucky enough to have tickets for tomorrow show due respect at the cathedral of football that is Hillsborough and appreciate Wednesday lowering themselves to play us.
