I can feel the heat from the Cauldron already .... And i suspect they might be playing Russ Abbotts " Atmosphere" before the game to really set the scene

I can't sleep I'm that ready for it. We may be outnumbered but us 2000 need to give it our all. The crowd will turn on them if we take the lead or the longer the game goes on.
Let's have it.

As the noise increases and the cauldron (hahaha) builds - can it be handled?. this is the big question for the players and indeed supporters of Sheffield Wednesday, they just aren't used to it. hillsborough or as it it sometimes known "Sheffield library" is just not used to being anything other than a dull old run down football stadium - lost and left behind by more fashionable football clubs who have devoloped "modern stadia" with passionate fans that get behind their team no matter what. they have one hope - maybe they can be driven on by the South Yorkshire brass band - that is if they are not double booked and are already playing at a church event or local feat , how's it go ... Der de de ta - der de de ta ....etc etc........ Classic tribal football song ....... Puts fear in to many a visiting supporter. Freezing on the night has to be a fear for the little owl - 28k home fans can be daunting......... season 2010/11 saw the "Massive" packing them in with a average of 17k ....... And that was boosted by the 5k away following from The loud and proud Huddersfield Town. Oh the irony, from a fan of a club who had 18k supporters for their biggest game in half a century, driven on by, yep you guessed it, West Yorkshire brass band! I think you need to concentrate on what happens on the pitch, because you aint gonna win any titles off the pitch! Good Evening Young Tawny, The only folks who seem to have a issue with 18,000 Home fans on Sunday is you Folks.......once again it was 18,000 supporters that got behind the team right from the start - as we have all season and not as a lot of Wednesday fans admit themselves - just for the big games. i have been to Hillsborough many times and can only say what I see and hear , your support on each and every occasion has been dreadful......... You don't want to hear it but the truth is the Town support is brilliant- home and away every week. i know you will raise it tomorrow night and rightly so - we will actually look forward to it ( would you do me a favour - would you ask your brass band to play Floral Dance - it's a right good foot tapper that one - maybe then get your lad on clarinet to play strangers on the shore , dedicate to the Wednesday fans who only turn up for the big games). Anyhow we have been laughing our nips off at all your nob warts that have been living on our forum for the last week or so ( some for years) and I have only posted to have a bit of craick but unfortunately likes of Foriestieri can't even hold his own on that level.......... Poor lad - he did say Sheffield was a cosmopolitan City on one of his threads so I had a ride through Pittsmoor today - stunning it is , thinking of getting a caravan there........ Of course the gypsies will need to move out first......... Anyhow all the best young Barney

Cancelled the sky subscription and it's my birthday so I'm probably just gonna watch my favourite film, Jurassic Park instead.
Like, seriously, what's the point?
4 and a half million Wednesday fans in that awe inspiring stadium, on a WEDNESDAY too. For the lucky ones like me, that can't go and won't watch out of fear, we need to think of the 2000 fans and 18 players that are going and risking their lives in this vain folly.
I believe we should all have a whip round so we can send them in for counselling when they get from Sheffield. Mind you, they might want to stay in Sheffield, because I've also heard it's 'The Rome of England-seven hills innit'

Let's see how "the cauldron" (Since when was shitty Hillsborough called that? Have they just made it up?) reacts when they've had 30% possession and we're hunting them down in packs. Let's see how it goes when they've reduced to long balls and knock ons, with Hef and Schindler standing tall. And then when Smith hits the byline and pulls it back onto Kachunga's head at the near post. Let's see how the "noise" is then. We're gonna gegenpress the shit out of them and I can't wait. I will offer balanced arguments on both sides generally and this comment deserves a reply. Firstly, Hillsborough has an excellent atmosphere when near capacity. The figures suggest that we are generally victorious when the crowd is above 30k. Secondly, I understand that we played poorly (and defensively) on Sunday and as a result you may believe this is the way we have played all season. However, we can play some sublime football and I think you're taking us for granted. Thirdly, regarding your overall generalisation that Huddersfield are an excellent ball-playing, slick side your goal difference really does beg to differ. Couple this with the fact you got mullered in virtually every game in the latter end of the season, I think you're being very confident. As impressed as I was with your display on Sunday, much of it was down to us allowing you time on the ball and allowing you to press us. You failed miserably to exploit us, huffed and puffed, but really I can only remember Westwood being tested once during the entire game. Mate you played with all 11 men behind the ball from minute 1-95. We don't have messi in our ranks. There's very little between the sides so it's not a achievement stopping us scoring when you played for the shut out. Let's see what happens when you come out of your own half and make a game of it. I don't think you will though. I think your manager is playing for penalties as his best chance of getting through.

Never mind the noise. Will Wednesday do their mobile phone light trick again? That's enough to put the willies up even the hardest of bastards.

Hope not but won't be surprised to see a conservative set up again. It is typically Portuguese style isn't it. Be compact, hard to beat and hope one of your wizards can nick a goal. Portugal been doing it for years with Ronaldo.

Firstly, Hillsborough has an excellent atmosphere when near capacity. The figures suggest that we are generally victorious when the crowd is above 30k.Well that's like your opinion, man. I guess we'll see tomorrow night. Secondly, I understand that we played poorly (and defensively) on Sunday and as a result you may believe this is the way we have played all season. However, we can play some sublime football and I think you're taking us for granted.Your manager makes a big thing about setting up to counter the opposition. You've played us three times this season and played exactly the same way - sitting back and trying to catch us on the break. And you were successful at that earlier in the season, when these were games in the middle of other games (plus helped by a penalty in one game and a red card in t'other). The situation is very different now, and if we keep our concentration levels high, like they were on Sunday, then this defensive strategy may well struggle again. Thirdly, regarding your overall generalisation that Huddersfield are an excellent ball-playing, slick side your goal difference really does beg to differ. Couple this with the fact you got mullered in virtually every game in the latter end of the season, I think you're being very confident.Where did I say this? I said that we'd gegenpress you and hunt every ball - that's what allows us to dominate possession, the fact that we look to retain the ball as soon as we lose it. It requires fitness, but those triple training sessions weren't for nowt. As impressed as I was with your display on Sunday, much of it was down to us allowing you time on the ball and allowing you to press us. You failed miserably to exploit us, huffed and puffed, but really I can only remember Westwood being tested once during the entire game. That's once more than you managed Seriously though, you set up to put 10 men behind the ball, 3 men on each winger, and to hoof every ball that you could out of your half. We found it really difficult to break through, which is fair enough, you were playing for a 0-0. But if you do that again tomorrow then your crowd will get restless, the nervousness will start to set in and 'the cauldron' will turn in to 'the wet blanket'. Alternatively, you could try to play us at football. Though with the very short turn around between games it seems unlikely that you'll change the strategy that you've used against us three times this season. Called it
