The Topps 'Match Attax Ultimate' are out... These are only available from the internet, not in shops.Every card has gold foil for the name and other elements. These are defo in shops. I was up in Newcastle last week for work and stopped at Durham services. They had them on the counter in WHSmith. My mistake then. Always thought that these were US issue only.

Seems I CAN do it if I take them from a different source! There's a typo on his valuation, an unnecessary 'point' in the middle of the numbers.

It is amazing how a yellow card makes someone suddenly write like an adult.

No Jonny Hogg in the Merlin set. Strange, since he's been captain on almost every occasion.

Do Topps ever watch Town? VLP and Diakhaby?!!! No Hogg - absolute shocking!! Mounie is star player, man of the match and included on special cards all the time!!!! I can't wait for next season with Panini (if we don't go down!)

MT Have I read that right? One card is priced at £7.99 ? How many do they make?

MT Have I read that right? One card is priced at £7.99 ? How many do they make? You did indeed read it correctly. £7.99 per card. That particular card had a print run of only 74. And there's the rub... It's a very clever move by Topps because by making the cards only available for 24 hours and only available directly from the company these cards are instantly rare and collectable. And because they celebrate a particular game/moment they are far more important and special. There were nine in all last season, but only one as yet this, and it's unlikely that there will be many more; we're struggling and the HTAFC novelty value has worn off, I'm afraid.

The tops 2019 sticker set is nice, proper stickers again and a nice split town squad picture.

How hard can it be to make a football sticker album! Wrong players, only ten and more stupid meaningless numerical stats next to the teams and players. Nothing remotely interesting like honours or info on the background of the players, just a load of numbers. Rubbish again. They obviously don’t need to try very hard, when I was a kid these albums were full of interesting info about the clubs and teams and actually contained the team not ten picked at random! Garbage.

Aaron Mooy (Huddersfield Town) - Base set - Autograph Parallel They're here!Notoriously difficult to scan, here are images of the 'refractors' which are the next level up from the 'base' cards and are scattered one in every three packets. Notice also that the lesser-spotted Danny Williams appears in last season's kit because he's been out for so long injured and never bloody plays! And here's the 'base' card of " SUPERSTAR SENSATION". I know, it's so hard not to laugh... I have been offered an autographed Danny Williams 'base' card at £25 but am not prepared to pay the damned silly prices that dealers ask for these modern cards. Thank heavens this season will be the last... Cards are available now on eBay, if you can be bothered.

Chin up MT. You sound really downbeat about these, you are generally quite positive. I am sure plenty of fans appreciate the work you put in.

Chin up MT. You sound really downbeat about these, you are generally quite positive. I am sure plenty of fans appreciate the work you put in. I AM downbeat about these, JJL, in that I absolutely hate Topps and their ridiculous insistence on producing cards with ' parallels' which cost quids and quids. Whilst I am generally happy to collect the ' base' cards I will not be held to ransom over what is essentially the same card but a different colour and numbered /100, /50, /25 and so on. The cards shown here have just cost me almost £22; in a few months I might be able to get the lot for under a fiver, but you can just never be certain, hence my jumping in now. Such is the life of the collector. This year has undoubtedly been the best ever for collectors of Town cards and stickers but I certainly won't miss the money-grabbing antics of Topps when they lose the rights to the EPL at the end of the season. Collectors are hopeful that Panini will make a 'proper' job of things, although if their 'Select' series of World Cup players is anything to go by there could be even more of the stupid 'parallels'! Not that Town will be affected, you understand....

World Cup sets were always around 320 to 400 stickers, then they shot up, after France 98, to 500, 600 and more. Trust me, Panini will not just do a standard set, there will definitely be extras like the parallels. However Panini are the true collectors product and they will do a great job.

And for any collector of Town 'historical' cards - Nick - there's also a new set out from JF Sporting collectibles called 'Huddersfield Town 1952/53 Team Squad'. It comprises sixteen cards (15 players and one team group) which celebrate the Town team which bounced straight back to the First Division after relegation the previous season. The most remarkable feature of this season was that the entire defence - six players - remained 'ever-present' throughout all 42 games, as did winger Vic Metcalfe. Striker Jim Glazzard missed only the last game of the season otherwise he too would have been included. Here are three of the cards; you can see - and order - the full set at the bottom of this page on my website. N.B. Although I provided many of the pictures and oversaw the statistics on the back, the production of the set does not benefit me in any way.
