Which of Mounie & Depoitre would he get in the side ahead of? How many minutes have we had neither Mounie nor Depoitre on the pitch? That's how many minutes we could expect to have seen Nahki Wells play for us this season. I like him, I wish him well & he was a big reason why we are where we are, but he was right to move on. Another PL club came in for him & so he went for it. That club is surpassing even the most diehard Burnley fans expectations & NW isn't getting a look in. Rumours of him joining Villa & that seems a good fit. Going for promotion, offers something a bit different to what they already have. Good luck to him. Do we have a sell on clause? Undoubtedly, but I can't see Burnley actually selling Wells just yet.

Still maintain he could have done a job as a No.10, spent most of last season dropping deep for the ball and he's a decent passer too. Could've have come in handy this season considering. Couldn't disagree more. I don't think his passing or dribbling are strong enough for that role at all. Despite our injury to Palmer and missing Mounié for a while, we have not missed him at all.

In the PL, quite a few clubs choose to loan out players in January if they want to make room for new players in the restricted 25-man squad.
I hope Burnley will loan out 2/3 players in the current squad to make room for a few "marquee" signings. We have NEVER in 50 years been such an attractive proposition to top players as now because of our current league position. Players can look and be 99% certain we will be a PL club again next season. This was not the case last January when it looked about 60-40 in our favour (we had 23 points from 19 games).
We've got Robbie Brady ruled out for the season and if Wells goes to Villa, that frees up two squad places for Dyche.

According to our friends at the local rag, Wells could be going out on loan to Villa to gain match fitness after his injury, which means (if true) the manager doesn't fancy him to get in the team, in my eyes. Just think Wells overall has made some bad decisions and been badly advised. I would guess his bank balance and future guaranteed earnings suggests he’s made some very good decisions and been exceedingly well advised!

If you look at his Wikipedia entry, there's some stuff on his decision-making that's a bit dodgy, but I'm sure his agent will be on here soon to clarify.

Wood got injured last night, will Wells figure at JS? If he does what sort of reception can he expect? Are we 'bothered'?

Wood got injured last night, will Wells figure at JS? If he does what sort of reception can he expect? Are we 'bothered'? A good one from me. When he left I had no hard or bad feelings toward him. I’ll forever be great full for his contribution in a town shirt and part of a squad in the most memorable season of my life being a town fan. Oh and the coolest of pens at both the cauldron (how he managed that unbearable crowd is mind boggling) and the Wembley one when we needed a cool head. UTT

I agree about Nahki & those booing will only make him more determined to do well.

Would imagine Dean has moved on.

Oh dear oh dear! He must be well chuffed with his agent and how things have worked out.
This was all too predictable, although I did think he'd have ended up with a top half championship side.

Bottom end of the championship is his level in the game. Nowt wrong with that,, its a high level in the pyramid.
Good luck to the lad.

I'd have had him back at Town on loan this season but good luck to him at QPR, might save McLarens job!

I have nothing against him but it wouldn't surprise if he wasn't a great success, he's had v little game time, injuries and will have a lack of confidence.

I think it's probably mission accomplished finance wise. It was always about the money obviously. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards

Always liked Nahki - played a big part in where we are today. Good luck to him in getting his career back on track.

I allways thought he always seen us as just a stepping stone for him to get into the prem. Which is fair enouth, but it looks like hes fallen into the pond.

Good luck Nahki! Shame it didn’t work at Burnley. He may need a new agent if QPR is the best He could drum up!

Wouldn;t surprise me if he ends up back at the chickens eventually. Probably sooner than hed like in truth. I know technically he played higher at Burnley ( very briefly) but I think his time at Town will be the peak of his career. But hes had /having a good career ( apart from last season ) so you can;t knock him for that. Just don;t think he ever really kicked on from the player we bought out of League 1.

I thought that he was (just about) good enough for us when he first came here. His rather deceptive running style and nose for a goal against lower league defenders made him a very useful contributor to our team in the glory season.
However; I was really surprised when Burnley stumped up millions for his services as he never looked remotely like a first division striker...
Good luck to him at QPR - they need all the help that they can get (wally with.....)

Good luck to him. Any player who played a part in our journey to the premier league will always be well thought of by me. Hope he does well. Scored a few important goals in that journey and yet one of those players who still split opinions. I'm with you, anyone who played a part in that life changing season will always be well thought of, surely?
