More dreadfully lazy journalism! "What’s changed? Everything. Huddersfield Town are in the Premier League for the first time in their history and it's a pretty big deal. If you have been following the Football League then you will know that this isn't a club who have exactly done it on a shoestring budget but it is one who have deserved their promotion and David Wagner has established himself as one of the most promising coaches around.
Who’s out? James Vaughan has left and Izzy Brown, a star on loan from Chelsea has not returned for a second spell unlike clubmate Kasey Palmer. The rest of the departures were all players not considered up to Premier League standard."The Independent linkThe Indy used to be a quality paper but it's really gone downhill recently. Not just the sports reporting, just loads of clickbait & articles with the headline "awful" popping up on my Facebook feed. Disappointing.

I genuinley think Brighton will be 20th! I think most teams can frustrate Knockaert, and he'll thrown his tantrums, and then Glenn Murray upfront isn't going to offer much! And then they are relying on the next man up! Haven't really brought in enough signingsto refresh the squad, and if they play 442 with Hemed and Murray, they're midfield will get overpowered every week! 9 signings made by Brighton so far this summer, 4 in midfield. From what I read of Popper & Gross, they've got a couple of very decent signings there. How many of those genuinely strengthen the squad! I just don't see Murray, Baldock and Hemed scoring the goals to keep them up if Knockaert has an off day, which he's going to have a few of at this level. They've not brought in any starting CB, and Dunk and Duffy would make Danny Adams look quick! Also 442 in the PL would be interesting to see, as the teams in the mini league at the bottom would often have 5 in midfield and over run you. I just see them really struggling, going to a lovely stadium like the AMEX on a Tuesday isn't going to terrify any one playing there!

I've read a few encouraging (for Brighton fans) reports about Gross & Propper, we all know what Izzy Brown offers but beyond that I know very little. Just as the only things I know about most of our signings this summer are what I've read/heard & a few video clips.

Fair from Phil Mcnulty (BBC Website) .... Soz if posted already!
Huddersfield
This season: 19th
Last season: Promoted (Championship play-offs)
Now this is an interesting one. The Pride of Yorkshire and the great Championship story of last season - and this is a prediction made with no huge confidence.
Huddersfield defied the odds so brilliantly last season that to write them off before the season is fraught with danger.
Manager David Wagner is an inspirational figure, they will be backed by fervent fans and their work in the transfer market, done early and with clear focus, shows a club with a plan. This is a unified force.
Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy, signed from Man City after spending last season on loan at John Smith's Stadium, will be crucial once more and Benin international striker Steve Mounie has shown good things already.
Winger Tom Ince, signed from Derby, finally gets the chance to prove he is Premier League quality.
The fear is their rivals will just have too much over the course of a long season - but I will be delighted to be proved wrong.

I just see them really struggling, going to a lovely stadium like the AMEX on a Tuesday isn't going to terrify any one playing there! We've played 4-4-1-1/4-2-3-1 all pre-season so doesn't look like we will play 4-4-2 much this season. Pascal Gross was the Bundesliga's most creative player for the past two season's and has looked like an excellent player during pre-season. We haven't seen Pröpper yet but you'd certainly hope a £10m midfielder he would strengthen the squad too. So we'll have Stephens and Pröpper sitting with Knockaert, Gross and Brown/March as the 3 attacking midfielders. I'm quite content with that midfield although there's obviously always going to be question marks about players stepping up a level. Duffy and Dunk are not the quickest but then it's not like we'll be playing a high line, we'll be sat in and looking to counter attack a lot. So I'm not overly worried about that. We were trying to sign Tammy Abraham earlier in the window and we need someone of his ilk, strong and quick who can lead the line. The chairman has said we could break our transfer record again bringing in a striker so our business isn't finished yet. I'm not arguing with anyone's predictions though, it'll be a tough season.
