The Guardian are doing two teams a day for an extended season preview this week and next. Our article is scheduled for a Thursday afternoon launch. Brighton today were predicted to finish ... 20th. So 19th for us I'm guessing!

The Times / Sunday Times will definitely have us finishing 20th. I can only think of one report where they were complimentary about Town, 2005 home against Nottingham Forest

I know When Saturday Comes is due this week. I expect the guy who wrote that was complimentary. He tends to be.

Far too early to judge. I love it when we're written off!

How crap is that Palace article. Smallest club since Barnsley?? How big does he think Bournemouth and Burnley are for gods sake?? Even Middlesbrough population wise is similar to Hudds, so what is he basing smallness on? Ambition, well we'll see won't we. Little idea on signings, these articles only ever seem to mention Mooy and Ince, no clues on Mounie, presumably because they've never heard of him. DW should definitely stick that article up in the dressing room cum a week on Saturday.

Only serves to re-enforce my views on bloggers/wannabee journalists - totally pointless, which is hopefully what Palace will be after the first game.

Most fans of every team we play will be looking at us as a certain 6 points, hope we'll prove a few wrong but I'm under no illusions, it's gonna be tough.UTT

That has to be one of the smuggest blogs I have ever seen. Dismissive of Town. No reasoning behind us tailing off last 6 games and as for smallest club!1 Watford, Bournemouth,Swansea,Brighton, Stoke,Burnley and Palace are all arguably smaller than us and we have also been champions of England more times than the vast majority of the league. However, please keep writing us off.

I haven't read much of it yet but I did see that we are expected to finish bottom in that. I had a quick look at the comments from the contributors from all last season's Championships teams to see if we feature in any of their comments. There's an awful lot of them put us down as the team they liked the most - including Reading, the Massive and Fulham. Interestingly, Burton disliked us the most - said our players and fans were all moaners.

I struggled to take him seriously when he didn't know how many we got beat by at Bristol City Plus how many of the grounds are new? I've been to a fair chunk of them in the third division (old money). PS I liked it really.

Burton disliked us the most - said our players and fans were all moaners. Ilson - Hope your event (if that is the right word -TBH I'm struggling) went well (or as well as those things can do) today. For the sake of accuracy the phrase used was mardy. F**k them I say. we'll be laughing last when our hefty bets on them to get relegated come in. PS Been attached to the East Midlands since 1988 & married a local. However, when you started posting had to google Ilson. Never heard of it (& my in-laws used to go drinking there most Fridays).

I could say that was someone else's typo, but I try to write them without research, silly as it sounds; it's so easy to get caught up on 'Ooh, that was a good result' than what actually felt like it. It does mean I might make factual errors, but the memory is like that. (I did have someone read through it before posting. They never picked up on it either. ) I know what you mean. I've been to a fair few myself, but they're new in this context. And thanks.

If they don't beat us 6-0 they'll be moaning.. I hope we smash them.
Mind you, palace beat Peterborough on that delicious final day so I can't really hate them

Thanks for your concern Andy, we had an interesting day today - father-in-law's brick will be at front entrance to Pride Park. I wasn't impressed by the Bristol City guy not getting our score right. You're right about it being "mardy" - typical East Midlands phrase. I've only been down here a mere 20 years (I had no idea where it was either before I married my other half) - so where was it that your in-laws went drinking ?

That makes more sense.

I've seen it all now!
