No great surprise Germany are leading the way with this. Still being fine-tuned and it did have some embarrassing teething problems - couple of system crashes leaving the ref without his VAR, and differences in opinion in the interpretation of the rules put the DFB (German FA) on the back foot for a couple of days - Cologne had 2 decisions go against them in one game against Frankfurt! Naturally causing them to furiously contest the point of having it. But I would say people generally are in favour of it now as it cuts out nearly all mistakes. Sometimes you have to go back to go forwards.

they will bring it in over the weeks we 'get' a few iffy decisions that are then overturned by VAR..

I don't get the 'very average' bit. If an officials performance is bad all round it's far from average it's downright poor. I'd accept 'very average' performances from the officials all day long. And yet you got it If you mean he wasn't poor I have to disagree.
