Not seeing anything on the Times website or Google in general about this, so where has the OP got it from? Print edition? It's in the digital version of the paper (& presumably print also). Article attributed to Paul Joyce (a name I don't recognise) and suggests "...his new deal is likely to double his existing £50,000-a-week terms".

Not seeing anything on the Times website or Google in general about this, so where has the OP got it from? Print edition? It's from the Times iPad edition. I tried to upload my screenshot, but it won't have it. Doubled his wages to alleged £100k a week. I think this figure probably includes potential bonus.

Very, very poor attempt at a wind up. Leeds fan? No, just a pragmatic Town fan.... just what are we going to win next year? What are we going for? Just to make more money and being able to, mostly, loose against the top half teams ebven at home... bugger me a 0-0 draw is considered a victory...boring... Put the shutters up...boring. Eventually, even the keenest fan, will get pissed off with winning bugger all in the Premiership and want us to go all out, risk the lot, and try for Europe. And then what. Careful now, your chestcock is showing.

Do you even know what pragmatic means? Yes I do c***.. What makes you think I don't? Love this. I c*** loads too. Living in Leeds I've learnt to **** with the best of them. Dying breed over here though are Chesty's... Attend the summer football galas and Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea shirts are more en vogue than the local side. Quite sad to them, quite amusing to me, but then again I am the aforementioned sweary word.

Rumour is, 4.5 year contract. £100,000 salary next season. £2.5m bonus for keeping us up.

Can't see it being 4.5 years. Why would we, or he, want a contract that ends mid season?
£100k a week, so £5m a year. Lot of money but just the going rate. Hes been so vital to what weve done, he deserves his big slice of the benefits.
Not sure about the bonus though going forward. Part of me thinks if you're taking a good prem division wage, then youre already getting paid to not take us down. Should you get a bonus for just doing what youre getting £100k a week for??

Just came in from the garden and switched Sky on - Kevin Campbell said he expected Wagner to sign a new contract and they also mentioned some Town news expected about 130pm.

So in short , a speculative article online which basically says ish the same as the Sun newspaper article a few days ago which is in the Wagner thread .. why can’t we just wait until (if) it gets announced ?

Where’s the fun in that! I just wonder about the mentality about someone who can’t wait to start a thread called “Wagner signs” when there is no confirmation .. Dean told us he was signing about 2 weeks ago , confirmed it last week . It’s been stated on media outlets that he will sign . So surely the only new news will be when he actually bloody signs . But you couldn’t wait could you ?

Because it’s the same obvious statement you write about anything, so I’m assuming by now you do it to take the piss. its best not to assume anything utt Come on Poz, say something tangible.

Just find it odd that people are so keen to be in first they are happy to post a non story or one already out there . But we are all different it’s all good

But we are all different it’s all good To be honest, I went to put it in the other thread, which had been derailed with discussion about who was the best Town manager and thought it might get lost in there. I also thought it was a change in language by the media by claiming he has signed.

So does this mean another year of 9 men behind the ball and hoping for a draw in 50% of the home games? 😴😴😴😴😴

I’m in a different camp. I believe that you give people extra motivation to succeed. So if it was a basic salary of £100,000 a week then fine... but the bonus should reflect that a manager on £100,000 pw is expected to keep the team up so it shouldn’t be easily attainable. For me it should either be 100k and a 2.5m bonus for top half finish or it’s 50k a week and 2.5m for staying up (or something along those lines)

Refreshed twitter about a million times today. I can't it been 4.5 years. The half a season diesnt makes sense to either party.
I think 2 years possibly 3 is more realistic

This way we either reward another success or (worst case scenario) keep that extra money.

It was in the printed edition this morning, I read it on the flight to Zante where I greeted by a smiling Mario from the hotel with a firm handshake and the words "premier league!" After all these yrs of having to explain where Huddersfield is to people, it seems they all know now.
