Well I see Garry Rowett has asked to speak to Stoke! After signing a 3 year contract just 5 months ago. Just shows how contracts are nothing more than a signal of intent. He got a lot of sympathy when birmingham ditched him, but now hes happy to ditch Derby when something he regards as better comes along.

Time for all those saying Town won't do this and won't do that with regard to transfer fees and wages to think again
Times have changed, massively. Huddersfield Town are paying their manager 100k a week, just think about that for a second and how ridiculous it sounds given where we were 18-24 months ago.

I'm still getting my head around the fact that our top earner is on £55 grand a week. And our top earner next season will probably be on more than that. I know these are the types of wages we have to pay at this level, but its taking a bit of getting used to. Our rise has been so quick, it's hard to appreciate what has happened. We've hardly had chance to draw breath.

Well I see Garry Rowett has asked to speak to Stoke! East Midlands Today seems to think it's a done deal. According to them, the clubs are in discussion and talking about £2m compensation, and Derby already drawing up a shortlist of potential new managers. Seems there will be no money to spend at Derby this summer.

I saw a link on here saying Pritchard was on that but that same website says his wage doubles next season to £110k a week which is utter nonsense.

Why don't you all get together, sit in a ring, and wank each other off whilst talking nothing but positives about Town. "Wanking all together"

Seems there will be no money to spend at Derby this summer. Quick scan of the Derby board suggests fans are not bothered about him leaving. I think this is despite a top 6 finish, because the style of football is a la Pulis. If so, sounds like Stoke have almost gone full circle.

I think (and hope!) that the 100k a week basic wage is a wild rumour. That would put him in the top 10 highest paid managers in Europe. Madness us paying that amount of money.

Possibly but there will be a strong likelihood he would get poached at some point. In order for town to have a massive release clause which will put clubs off then DW will want a big wage to stay here. He is the reason we are where we are. 100k a week is tge equivelant of 2 players and to me he is worth that.

No, just a pragmatic Town fan.... just what are we going to win next year? What are we going for? Just to make more money and being able to, mostly, loose against the top half teams ebven at home... bugger me a 0-0 draw is considered a victory...boring... Put the shutters up...boring. Eventually, even the keenest fan, will get pissed off with winning bugger all in the Premiership and want us to go all out, risk the lot, and try for Europe. And then what. Do you even know what pragmatic means? I am not certain what pragmatic means in terms of the posting , but I can put forward my idea that confirms DW is very pragmatic. At the start of the season DW went with the same style of high pressing as in the Championship which worked against Palace and Newcastle so we got off to a good start. The real change happened against Spur’s where we got taught a lesson and had a very large shot sent over our bow about trying to outfootball the top teams. At this point I do believe DW took the pragmatic view that to survive we would have to try to nick points when we could with the defensive block against the better teams, ( yes it was rubbish to watch) and pick the games he could go back to the high pressing game to get a win. On this basis DW got it spot on (and I was filled with pride at Stamford Bridge watching the celebrations) so his pragmatic approach worked. Yes he made mistakes ( it’s his first year for goodness sake) give him a break, I also think after a year learning about the Premier League and his squad,he is pragmatic enough to realise that quite a few players are not good enough and will need to be replaced to allow us to progress. On this basis in my opinion, moaning about the football we have played at times simply does not make any sense, and I am certain DW will want to keep his stair rising and we will see quite a few better players in the team next season but will be pragmatic enough to work within the financial restraints of the club.
