Well..I wasn't there today, so don't have a view, but being a sensitive sort, I am picking up the vibes. After the Newcastle and Soton games at the start of last season, I was very pleased overall, but had a strong exchange of views with someone on the train going home to the effect that 3 or 4 players were not up to the premiership mark. Lack of close ball control, inability to pass, create openings, etc. My views on them haven't changed. I find the current tactics weird. Pritchard the playmaker, not involved. Certain players, same old failings, still starting. Tappy, tappy football, no real penetration. New guys not starting. Where are the chances going to come from - on a regular basis? Last season, we rode our luck, but gently floated down through the table and yet achieved the ultimate miracle. Hanging on by fingertips at the end. But without seriously adding to the squad, (whilst many competitors and newcomers have), I feel that the writing is already being pencilled on the wall. It is not there yet, but our reputation for coming from behind is not great! In the summer, I wrote about how important this close season was to the club. Learning from mistakes, sensible purchases and a solid start. Have we done this? Time will tell. I was around in the 1970s and remember what happened then. I have no wish to see a repeat. Today was exactly the same as most performances over the last 12 months Pass it out of the back in to midfield. Look a bit unsure what to do with it as there is only one player ahead of them. Midfield pass it back to defence. Defence play a couple of passes between them until a striker pressures them. Pass it back to Lossl. Lossl hits a rubbish hurried kick nowhere near any of our players and Leicetser are on the attack
We looked purposeful and capable of penetrating last week. This week we were dull, slow, boring and extremely wasteful in possession I know you are negative guy but you're not wrong here. It is the easy option, simple pass inside every time.

One Wall at the back, one wall just Infront of them, one up front running side to side getting nowhere. It's bollocks David, 4-4-2 with no wingers but a tight midfield with Van the man watching in the stands. Tottenham is a freebee have a fooking go man before it's too late.

We need to go back to 4-2-3-1 thought Pritchard was good in the hole when he came on.
Thought Billing played really well, as did Lowe and Durm.
Depoitre NEEDED to put that chance away for our second as we could on and won the game. Kachunga wasted a really good chance in the first half too.
Enjoyable game but we need to take chances, there were some good ones today..

He was around the club and the team. Terrier spirit and heffing dream have gone to be replaced by dickhardy and mbaba.... Ive never seen a more toothless display and these lot are on big money, mooy was abject, schindler is disappearing, zanka is soft as shite, rvlp is still shit at passing the ball, but now cant beat a man, kachunga has developed a 50p foot, depoitre looks like hes enjoying too many mcdonalds, Durm spending too much time doing his hair and lossl doing his best impression of danny ward by letting every shot in... Ill leave wagner, louwe and billing this week as wagner cant legislate for a german world cup winner giving leicester a lifeline and i thought billing and louwe were ok in the game. Pritchard at least put some effort in... kachunga was poor and still 10 leagues above the french lad who looked absolutely lost at this level.... and probably would at league one as well. This actually made me burst out laughing. Dickhardy? 50p foot? Too many McDonalds? Best impression of Danny Ward? Nice one, it's really cheered me up has that. Tongue in cheek based on reality.

We’re not a quick side but blimey Jamie Vardy can still cover the pitch as quick as anyone I’ve seen. It’s been said on here a few times but I would still pick Ince in our starting eleven. We did some good transfer business last summer, this year the squad has gone backwards and that’s the root of our problems. Fingers crossed we turn it around, something has to change...

Now I thought we'd invested in a couple of flying wingers in the close season. where the hell are they? if they're no better than what we already had then why did we bother?

It’s really not that complicated, we buy potential, and then coach them in our system, we’ve been doing it this way for the last 3-4 years.

another game in which we were mostly in it but never really look likely to take it away from the opposition and then the errors just cost us everytime..
de ja vu is strong..
same errors and same missed chances followed by stupid fouls or useless costly passing for no real reason...
we do not score enough or look likely to score enough ever to cancel out or outdo the errors..
getting difficult to watch....no reason for some of the passes or the being caught in possession whilst going nowhere much..

Wow. I can't believe people are calling for the return of Tom Ince. He didn't beat a man once in 2018. He was a LB's dream. Diakhaby at least rinsed PVA last week which is a step up from Ince. Some people have very short memories.

And 352/532 is horrible. It is killing us. Go 4-4-2 we have no wingers so don't play any of them. Tight midfield pass and go, support the 2 up top, quicken up, sharpen up, from this snail pace that's killing us, easy 😎

It’s really not that complicated, we buy potential, and then coach them in our system, we’ve been doing it this way for the last 3-4 years. But it becomes massively complicated when you take the attack out of offensive players and coach them to become defenders. Shackling and smothering players is not a system. Getting back to the basics and your roots by coaching a side with a high press, intensity and energy is a system that has an identity without the confusion

"4-4-fucking 2." Bassett (2001) Ok matey what would you do with this shower of shite I'm not having a pop matey. I just like to judge in April or May so that I get the bigger picture. Football, a bit like life, doesn't follow a scripted narrative. I thought we were very good last week and I liked our resilience at Everton. Today, wasn't good admittedly, but Town are my team and I will never think of them as a shower of shite. I will continue to trust our players, coaches and backroom staff to get things right.

Town are in my blood and always will be, but am I glad I’m at a wedding today rather than getting myself worked up and pissed off at the situation we’re currently in and all the (understandable but over the top?) moaning going on here. Ah well, we’ll survive. Time to log off again and get another whisky 🥃

I don't think we were quite as bad as some are saying. We were playing against one of the top 10 Premiership clubs at their ground and who's squad is valued 3 or 4 times times that of ours. We created several decent chances and I thought we might even hold them to 1-1 until we took Kachunga off.
I think we need to go back to just using the players who kept us up last season (plus Durm) and playing a method that suits their ability.

Three individual errors cost us, Durm thinking he's Messi, Diakhaby with a forwards challenge after an elephantine first touch, and VLP with a pass straight to a Leicester man. Having said that, all 3 finishes were pretty good, and the pass to Vardy for the third was terrific. I think we have someone who can unlock defences with a similar ball, but he was only on the pitch for 20 minutes or so. For me it's a no at the moment for Kachunga and VLP, and a yes to Pritchard and even Diakhaby to do his stuff at the right end of the pitch. UTT (oh and none of our players are "shit" FFS)
