Just watched the full interview, I don't think the press were making the comparison with Wagner that much, Jan appeared to be reading that into each question and seemed to be getting irritated by it, but the questions seemed fair enough.
The majority of questions weren't answered accurately, possibly due to his understanding of the questions.
I like him though, it's quite nice and refreshing that we have got someone new, I like the whole 'watch how he brings something new'

Honestly. It's mad. It's absolutely mad that they cannot get it right. I produce a top quality podcast on a microphone that cost £220. I've offered genuine hints to the club before. It's such a little simple thing and I hate having a moan, but when you work in the business it really is crazy that they cannot get it right. Is it the same on the HTTV+ service?

I thought that was a good first press conference and that he came across really well. As much as you can tell from these things, he seems to have a good temperament. Onwards and upwards!

Thought he came across very well in his interview, confident but not arrogant and get the feeling he can dish out a bollocking if it is needed. That some of the questions (that I could hear) were a bit poor. He is his own man thats for sure, made a good start and first impression. Good luck Jan, we are all behind you

Any chance the spelling of Siewert in the subject could be corrected if this is going to be the main thread on his appointment? Thanks.

They seem to upload their videos in mono a lot instead of stereo, sometimes sound only comes out of one headphone/speaker instead of both. PS change the subject title!

Interviews well - excited to see what he brings.
Thought some of the journalism was piss poor. Clearly was happy to answer a couple of Q’s about Wagner, then you could tell he was a tad irritated, yet they persisted and just reworded questions already asked comparing with Wagner. Would have liked to hear more about his experiences, training methods, backroom staff etc. Almost felt like they were scrambling for questions to ask at the end - unsurprising given we all know how poor our journalists are.

They weren't though. The questions may have name checked Wagner but most asked what he was going to do or his own thoughts. He actually didn't answer the questions that were asked, he seemed more irritated by comparisons that weren't there I don't think. The journos realised the questions weren't getting them anywhere and stopped asking imo.

Here a article from Siewerts biography and tactical play system from a german sport magazin(kicker). Sorry for my bad english.
Siewerts huge career jump to Huddersfield
"Doubts still dominated last summer. Already there, in May 2018, Jan Siewert had thought hard about switching to England. The Queens Park Rangers, active in the second division, sought the football teacher. But he refused, quite quickly after a few days. Siewert landed on the island, but signed until 2021 at Huddersfield Town, the bottom of the Premier League.
He takes this great opportunity "full of anticipation and zest for action," says the 36-year-old on Monday evening in conversation with the kicker. On David Wagner follows at Huddersfield so that the next U-23 coach Borussia Dortmund.
Just over a week ago, Siewert had unsuspectingly conceived the winter preparation of his BVB workforce. A day before the start of the training then reached him the offer of the English. Premier League instead of regional league. Siewert, who feels at home in Dortmund with his wife and child, did not hesitate this time. Too huge seemed to him the opportunity to work as a senior instructor in England's highest division, at this total top level. Especially since there was loose contact between both parties some time ago, both sides knew of the fundamental appreciation of each other. Siewert quickly informed Dortmund's decision-makers of Huddersfield's serious interest. For 300,000 euros, the change after kicker information was finally fixed. Siewert was the ideal cast for BVB
One and a half years Siewert led the U23 of the BVB. In the Regionalliga West, she currently occupies fourth place, as well as in the preseason. Considering the radical summer squad changes in the summer and the extremely low average age of this Dortmund quorum, these are not outstanding, but certainly passable placings. "As much as I look forward to this opportunity for Jan," says U-23 manager Ingo Preuß, "I'm so sorry." They would have liked to continue working with Siewert at BVB. The ideal occupation for them was this meticulous working coach, who is regarded as a specialist, in the football field as well as in the development of emerging talents.
He himself, as an active paralyzed by the most severe knee pain, focused early on coaching. At the age of 30 he graduated from football teacher training. Siewert was video analyst and U-23 co-trainer at TuS Koblenz, worked as a base coordinator at the German Football Association. He was part of the coaching team of the German U17 and U18 national team, was later responsible for the U19 of VfL Bochum - and assisted in the round 2016/17 in addition Gertjan Verbeek, the former coach of Bochum's professional troupe. Released at Rot-Weiss Essen in the Regionalliga
Sportlich painful were the experiences that Siewert had to do the year before at Rot-Weiss Essen. For the first time, he was assigned a head coaching mandate by senior squad at senior level in 2015. He only kept it for nine months. Under his leadership RWE rushed to a relegation place - and dismissed Siewert. The most serious setback of this coach so far. Siewert is flexible
With the BVB II he remained consistently in the top flight. Had Siewert had the 4-3-3 arrangement practiced in his first year in office, he was flexible in the current season. Siewert did not insist on excessively high possession times, sometimes deciding to position himself a bit lower in his own half and push firmly into the ball when winning the ball. Counterattacks became a tried and tested remedy. And Siewert changed in the course of the first round the previously long practiced system. His own appearance, he explained, had become "too predictable". The 4-3-3 was therefore often a 3-5-2, in the center of the three-string game-strong midfielder were placed, which should intervene coordinating from the back. Plans that mostly attacked. "He encourages and challenges, has compassion and a good heart"
Massimo Ornatelli, the captain of BVB II, also highlights Siewert's "football expertise". Other core competencies of the new Huddersfield coach are his leadership and communication. Siewert, who can safely parley in English and French, and is able to communicate brusquely in Spanish and Italian, is praised by Preuss for his "dealing with the most diverse characters of a team". And Ornatelli, now 33 years old, states that he has "so far never met a better coach, he encourages and demands, but he also takes care, has compassion and a good heart". The ascent is granted to Siewert. Siewert, usually polite and sociable, only gets grumpy when he sees his plans completely ignored. After a completely messed-up test game, this football instructor promptly left the court after the final whistle, desperately wanting neither to see his players nor questioning pressmen for statements. This short-circuit reaction, she rather documented his irrepressible ambition than harming him somehow. His now accomplished personal ascent, which can be heard from large parts of the team, is given value. "Either see you here on the lawn Monday - or I'm in England"
He did not have time to say goodbye. The past few days have been too turbulent. On Saturday, after his last training session in Dortmund-Brackel, when he and his advisor were still in the midst of the contract talks, he went with the words: "Either we see each other Monday on the lawn - or I'm in England." When the BVB players entered the training ground at the beginning of the week, the boss was missing. Siewert stayed in Huddersfield, signed his negotiated contract - and was "full of anticipation."

Given that Sean Jarvis said his name is pronounced "See-vert" Uncle Pecos must be wetting himself with excitement at the rhyming opportunity that has fallen into his lap...

This seems yet another Dortmund up and coming young manager that has maybe been given the managerial job on the recommendation of Wagner and maybe his best mate Klopp
This is a massive appointment especially as a relatively " UNKNOWN " is to be trusted with any future club funds which could include parachute payments
Town could get one crack at coming straight back up " IF RELEGATED " ,and how vital those parachute payment funds will be to pay any retained players high wages
I very much doubt players like Mooy and certain others would take a pay cut if asked to play at a lower level , but cannot see the point in wasting money bringing in players if they are no better than whats in the present squad
Siewart must be well thought of to be given the position at the club , and seem to be taking one Massive gamble with an expectation levels similar to what happened with Wagner .

No one can argue we're sleepwalking to relegation any more...at least we've 'done something' albeit due to DW walking out... It's a bold gamble by the club (again) and wouldn't it be just brilliant if Siewert's first game was a 5-0 thrashing of Everton.... we'd be really looking forward to the Chelsea and Arsenal games then... Dare I dream...?
