Bit of a random one that. We are literally going to see the back of about 12 players

One of them, could turn out to be half decent, in the hand full of times I've seen him he's been OK but nothing better. In some games he's also been anonymous, wouldn't be arsed to see him leave and wouldn't be arsed if he stays.

A close contact with his old club Persopolis in Iran has mentioned his name to me yesterday, could be just what we need. Seems like it has some legs

Don't like the look of this (if true). If he thinks he's better than the championship then show it and make a move in January.

Good riddance to plenty of them that will be leaving, including Diakhaby.
Others that move on we will miss more, but it's understandable as they're better than the Championship e.g. Mooy & Kongolo
But I won't be devastated when any of them leave.
The squad in the summer will look a great deal different to what it does now that's for sure.....plenty of outgoings and plenty new potential heroes incoming.

The guy that I will be sorry to see go if he does will be Loewe. A consummate professional who gave his all for the club. Although found out on occasions during his first PL season, he pretty well addressed this this season.

I know they've had a nightmare season by their standards but you'd assume Fenerbahce still have a bob or two. If we can recoup a fair amount of Diakhaby's fee I think we'd be daft not to, I'm sure his wages will still be high by our standards even after the relegation cut kicks in.
Has shown brief flashes of real quality so there could be a player in there for someone but I've seen little that would suggest he'd really be up for a physical, 46 match slog in the Championship.

We won't be selling players we want to keep at a loss. The real assets will go for break even or better - we don't need to sell them, but do need to replace them if they go. The dead wood is different, but actually when you think about what we paid for most of them, we should be able to get a break even deal on most of them too (excluding Hamer, who we may have to pay a club to take). There doesn't need to be a fire sale, and won't be. The only exception, I reckon, will be Lowe. If he wants to go back home I can see us allowing him to go cheaply like we let Heff go to Forest - he's earned the right.

Sad that Lowe is going. Might be a total rebuild for next season at this rate. Stephen ward is on a free at the end of the season he will be a good signing He's 34 in August, and played just 3 league games last season. Will be another Unsworth if we sign him. No ta.

Not sure if there's so much substance to that Diakhaby article- Fenerbahce have come up in relation to 3 of our players now. Also, where's the suggestion that Lowe is leaving coming from? He states in that interview that he will return to live in Chemnitz in 2020, which I assume would mean him seeing out his contract here?

If he wants to go back home I can see us allowing him to go cheaply like we let Heff go to Forest - he's earned the right. Naturally in this case it depends on whether we see him as dead wood or not.. I'm definitely curious to see what he can do a league below but even talented players become dead wood if they don't fancy playing in a given league as that article suggests (could very well be untrue but obviously the majority of stuff in this thread is pure conjecture, so whatever). I think there's always more to the full picture though and wages are a big part of it. They'll all have reductions incoming, but what seemed like a reasonable potential Championship wage to offer someone a year ago might look very different to us now having worked with a player both on and off the pitch. Sometimes it's better to make a small loss on the fee in the long run. Using him as an example, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us let him go for say £7-8m (if someone will pay it) thinking that we could use that money elsewhere and get a big wage off the books.

Q. When Burnley first went down under Dyche, how many players looked to leave?
Was it just Andre Gray? They have a strong British core and seem more dedicated to stick around more than some of our foreign players who obviously just come for PL football, then want out when they aren’t going to get it. It’s not going to be easy getting a new side together with so many new faces and Jan needs to get off to a good start.
Hope the Maddison rumour has something in it.

When Burnley went down in 2014-15 the key players they sold were Trippier and Ings. Shackell also went to Derby. Gray was signed at the start of their championship season.

If they don't wanna be here fuck the lot of them off.
Players like Diakhaby, Flo, Zanka etc who are piping up saying they dont want Championship football need to take a long hard look at themselves as we are in this mess because of their efforts (or lack of in most cases).
Wankers.

one thing I noticed about Derby, especially their 4th goal, was the pace. We don't have that kind of pace both in thought or in action. It's one of the reasons we're going down this season. We're way too slow. We need to bring in some pace. We have more raw speed than Derby, they just look faster running against Ayling than Kyle Walker. Town certainly lack speed if thought though. Most of the quota is with Mooy 😄 Agree that we currently look slower but I think that it's mostly a confidence thing. Speed of thought and not second thinking everything. If we get going I think we have potential to be rapid.

Don't like the look of this (if true). If he thinks he's better than the championship then show it and make a move in January. People need to stay level headed and relaxed. We've been relegated. There will be agents trying to use it as a chance to move them and make money. Especially with the name tag of a premier league player. But it's obvious we will have people leaving as every club who gets relegated does. The rumour mills will be throwing our name into every rumour.

I just hope that Phil and Dean have identified who they want and are ruthless in their determination to get who they want without breaking the bank.

Not turning but after the year we've had I'm not one to defend the majority of them either. Diakhaby was also the same player to come out and say he cant understand why he isn't playing and criticised Wagner so there is no smoke without fire.

Indeed, just highlights yet another flaw in our recent transfer policy alongside the fundamental one of overpaying for crap players to replace good characters and proven performers. I like the sound of Maddison, a promising start IMO if its genuine. I'm sure our old friend Daragh will make it happen! To be fair they don't seem to stand in a players way and have an extremely good track record for picking up and nurturing talent from the lower leagues.

Doesn't surprise me Zanka wants to leave, he's played in the top divisions most of his career and is a full international, I fully expected he'd be off if we went down, just a shame he didn't carry on giving his all til the end but we don't know whats gone on I suppose. As for the other two you mention, both should consider themselves lucky to get a game in any championship team from what I've seen so far.
