I'd be glad if we took on David Marshall as a keeper option to work with Coleman. Lossl is leaving right? Hamer is pants. Another reasonable option, out of contract, and more than adequate at Championship level. Now he WAS a great keeper, remember that save he made against us for Cardiff, Scott Arfields sublime chip to the far top corner and somehow he managed to get to it and tip it over. Not many keepers would have saved that. Good call mate

At last a Town fan I can relate to. I'd have loved him at our club a few years ago in his heyday. Really good keeper that would do a job at No. 2, being the goalkeeping coach to boot. Yes sir

My brother in law in players lounge at Norwich game tonight. They reckon Westwood is pretty much tied up. May be a load of old tripe, but would be a good keeper for next season.

That's the rumour but not sure if it will come off. I'm a great believer in fans forums, Charlton fans love their keeper etc...

Yes sir From your comment obvious though that you would not see him as starting, which I could understand. But on a free, and would certainly be better than what we have at the moment I would prefer Westwood myself, but we will see.

As always, don’t shoot the messenger but the Rhodes rumour doesn’t seem to be going away. Some saying it’s done and dusted with DH speaking to his father directly.
Westwood one definitely seems to have some legs too.

I’d sure rather have Rhodes than Mounie in Championship but think Rhodes best days are behind him now sadly.

......... DH speaking to his father directly.... . Presumably to tell him to "F*ck off" after his behavior last time - not Rhodes, his father.

Leeds fans seem to think Brown is coming here permanently next season. That will do me. Perv

Rhodes not heard that one or the Brown one but I have heard the Westwood one which I would be happy with.

Regarding Rhodes, I don’t see how a striker who has scored at max 20 goals in 4 years is a good signing.

One way or another we need at least 1 goalkeeper in the summer if not 2 or 3. Lossl is leaving & imo it would be best all round if we can move both Coleman & Hamer on. Schofield may be promising but is unlikely to be ready yet.

We were lucky to have him when we did, he was one of the few consistently, prolific strikers play for us. Shearer, Maskell, Stewart and Rhodes come to mind when I think of prolific. Real poacher and when bang on form (Wycombe away) you would have put your house on him. Hopefully a new era for us now, no looking back to nostalgic former players, we need another Grant to play alongside Grant next season.

When Brown visited last season with Brighton and played on the left, I was surprised as to how quick he was. Wagner liked him as a no.10 but if he can play wide left of a 3 then he would suit Siewert’s formation.

If Rhodes was on a free and a fairly low wage then I'd take him as a back up striker. If there's a fee or silly wages then stay well clear as he's nowhere close to the player who left here

If there's a fee or silly wages then stay well clear as he's nowhere close to the player who left here I'd rather have hooper to be honest. Then supplement him and Grant with another free scoring lower league striker. Surely the Grant transfer has proven that's the way to go.

If we want a cheap, third option to bring off the bench then we could do a lot worse than Liam Boyce at Burton

Approximately this time last year we were dreaming about all kinds of top drawer players being signed to push us on to the next level.
Now we're discussing Jordan Rhodes and a journeyman from Burton Albion as options for next season.

In other news Kevin Phillips.....

Thing is, we were total crap for most of the time we had Maskell and Shearer, whilst in the season Rhodes was amazing, the team was built around him and very functional Stewie and Iwan Roberts were more rounded players and we were a better team with it. As for who we need, it depends entirely on formations and tactics.

Regarding Rhodes, I don’t see how a striker who has scored at max 20 goals in 4 years is a good signing. He's averaged a goal every 168 minutes played in the championship this season, if you include cup games it's 123 minutes per goal. Those stats stand up pretty well, particularly for a back up striker, Infact he has a better goals per minute ratio than Pukki this season in all comps.
