They would have been promoted before now with a good manager in charge. Lee Johnson has been there over 3 years hasn't he, they must like him ? He has indeed; they're waiting for him to fulfill his promise of delivering them European football inside 5 years. Needs to get a move on.

He always seems to do well against us, but of a bogeyman! Sure I can remember him scoring a hat trick at our place for some team, might have been Yeovil?

What is the better use of budget than on quality players? You can only play 11 at any 1 time so 10 players from league 2 doesn't move us forward. We need some top quality players and Kongolo is in that category. The smartest thing is to assemble the best squad possible within budget and he is within budget. You talk like we are finished, that we should never have any ambition to return to the premier league, we should accept our lot in life.
You can see both viewpoints, whether utilising the parachute money over a longer period of time to sustain the club for the next 10 years or so as was mentioned, or being able to assemble a squad on paper capable of mounting a serious push for promotion back the EPL without running into financial difficulty over the next three seasons. As fans, we would obviously prefer the latter which should be a better watch for our money, however if things don't go to plan and by 2022 we are still in the Championship, a huge cull all round is called for and it's back to watching a squad full of journeymen and a relegation battle ahead.
Hopefully we can do both by improving infrastructure, growing the fan base, increasing income and being successful in player trading. If the club can get those things right the PL experience could sustain the club in the future without necessarily using the parachute payments to keep it afloat. Its a big if bearing in mind last seasons decision making in key areas but lets hope that was a minor deviation from the norm. Would be a massive shame if we end up back where we were or worse after the three years.

From all accounts it seems Kongolo is on mega money (even after the relegation clause), and now that we’re having to cut our cloth accordingly it’s in our best interest if we find an acceptable bid and move on even if we need to take a small loss. It pains me to say that as he’s going to be remembered as one of the best defenders we’ve ever had, and make many people’s all time town team in years to come, but having someone paid more than double the guy next to him is a problem in more ways than one. The golden rule for me, would we have signed him in the championship? If the answer is no then he’s obviously ill fitting for what our current situation is. The faster we can revert back to a Championship club the better, and unfortunately that means saying goodbye to some of these players that we’ve enjoyed seeing in blue and white. Mooy for me is going to be the killer, i’ll probably never see a player that good in a town shirt again, but similarly he needs to go i’m afraid. Have you not contradicted yourself a bit there? Do you mean because Mooy played for us in the Championship? Well he played for us on loan from Man City, so I assume we wouldn’t have been paying his wage in full. If we were then i’m pretty sure we wouldn’t have signed him.

if we sell Mooy it must not be to another Championship club. That would be suicidal.

I don't think championship football is a sustainable business model - look at Leeds to name but one - big income streams all round, dearest season cards with 30k + crowds yet still losing money without going overboard on the playing squad. Growing our income streams by 50% would add only say £6-7m to the pot. A nice amount to have, but unlikely to be anywhere near enough to compete financially.

What ever happened to Town taking over the running of the stadium DH did say it would give us a better negotiating platform to bring in extra revenue.

Do KSDL publish any accounts, does it say how much debt is left on the balance sheet ? Town are paying £1m+ a year, the Giants £200k, plus revenues generated by KSDL and the JSS is 27 years old now...Town funded the North stand I believe and the estimated cost of contruction was £40m..so somewhere around £8m left of the debt, maybe ?

Would be a massive shame if we end up back where we were or worse after the three years. We are already recruiting lads for the Academy and should be finally seeing a few of these make the first team. The key to our future is the progress these lads make which would / could mean we can still be a force even after the parachute cash has ended. If we go for the 3 years plan for an EPL return, and it doesn't work then our investment in the academy surely has to deliver.. We've invested a load into this and had poor returns imo but if we can get decent recruits and progress them all may not be lost.

The unexaminer now saying Sobhi talks back on with Egyptian Premier League leaders Al Ahly, but agent won’t comment on wether it is about a loan or permanent transfer.

According to 2018 group accounts, total debt around 6m comprising 1.5m bank debt and around 4.5m other loans.
