PNE fans view: Not a lot to add to what has been written by you already. We were missing Pearson and DJ ( our top scorer ) from midfield and so did go a bit longer than usual, which you didn't seem able to cope with. We pressed and harried from the start and gave you no time on the ball which we have tried to do all season and today it worked a treat. Every town player looked like he wanted 3 touches. After 70 minutes we tired ( as usual after pressing for so long ) and you came back into the game. Disappointed to have conceded the goal from a deflection but , well... As many teams have found out, you got done by our system and 'game management'. I'm sure we'll get sussed by christmas but hopefully we'll be in a decent position by then to carry on and grab a top 6 place. Your left full back looked useless and way too slow to be playing there. Bacuna seems to be getting slated on here but I thought he looked like the only one who wanted the ball. He did fall down very easily. Cramp or a calf strain at the end? The lad whose name I cant remember or spell who got subbed in the second half, strolled off as if you were winning but it looked livelier than he had been all game. Keeper looks a liability. I was looking forward to seeing Grant today but he didnt get into the game at all. O'bien looked up for it but found himself isolated in midfield. Pritchard looked decent and at least looked interested. I'm sure you play much better at home for some reason and look forward to the game there. Good luck for the rest of the season! Believe it or not that left back is a Dutch international. If he could be bothered then he would walk into any team in this division. That’s the problem. Stealing a wage and waiting to leave in January.

What did we learn today? - Kachunga is a 100%er but offers little, confirmed again Basic arithmetic - 100% of nothing is nothing!

His performance today was barely league 1 at times. We were beaten by the best team on the day yes.....but they didn't have to do too much to win did they? Bullied and out fought today......yes they are a decent team, but if you dont do the basics well then you are knackered.

We were also slow out of the blocks today. We just didn't look up for it from the kick off. They pressed and harried. We moved the ball backwards and sideways at slow pace. Movement was poor
We were the same at Blackburn. The difference was that Preston were far more effective than Blackburn.

On the whole a fair assessment. We were well beaten by a team that wanted it more and were better organised. No complaints about the result (plenty about our performance. However : - your player should have been sent off for a very very high lunge that took Elphick out.Apparently could be out for a long time. Just nasty. - we have Bacuna who dives, but you have two or three who repeatedly do the same.

High, late, reckless, basically a shithouse of a challenge that warranted a red card. Doesn't surprise me that the prick of a ref bottled it though. Other way round we'd have been down to 10.

If he gets moved to centre back and hes still putting in those kind of performances the sooner hes gone the better. We all know what hes capable of where as some of the other player don't have his talent.

Firstly, we were poor today, very poor. We were overpowered by you from the first whistle. Our passing was poor, our movement non-existent and we offered no threat at all on the first half, and little more in the second. Credit to Preston though - as poor as we were, you stopped us playing with your energetic pressing and constant pressure whenever we had the ball. You say you went a little longer today due to player absences, but I was shocked at how much long ball you played. Almost every ball from deep was pumped long and high. Very effective against us, but I was expecting more from Preston. Granted, your crossing was very good, but the amount of times you got free kicks for nothing challenges and blatant dives was laughable. I can see how you get lots of free kicks, particularly as your number 20 seems to be on the pitch with sole purpose of doing anything he can to win them. I can see why you are doing well this season, but your style of play didn't make for a good spectacle. Although neither did our own shite display. A pretty poor game to watch to be honest, and not just because Town lost. I was also quite surprised by the number of empty seats in the home sections. But as a Town fan I won't criticise as I am seeing plenty of empty seats at our place these days. Difference is we are struggling, whereas you are challenging at the top of the league. Good luck for the rest of the season, and hopefully we'll give you more of a game at our place.

What did we learn today? - 3 shots on target, three goals..disappointing? - Kongolo isn't a left back, confirmed. visibly doesn't want to be here. Flo is a better stand in ffs! - Stankovic isn't a championship player; I'm still yet to see him have a solid game. - Bacuna is a passenger when starting. we don't have an alternative at this stage - Trev just isn't a championship footballer. flopped at ipswich and now us. - Diakhaby remains an enigma - Kachunga is a 100%er but offers little, confirmed again ... i'd like to see prichard and koroma start the next game; also brown or flo at lb I thought Stankovic played well at centre back when he came on. Won quite a few headers and can actually play the ball out from the back.

Preston deserved winners, the fact their keeper came out early at half time to warm up summed up our first half. Poor atmosphere from both sets of fans really but more so Preston considering the score and their position. Anyway we move on.

Back to reality for some town fans. All this daft talk about promotion/playoffs after a couple of good and some lucky results to keep us unbeaten in seven.
We are still only 3 points off relegation and we have some tough games coming up. I will be happy with anything other than the bottom three this season after the awful start and recruitment in the summer.

Chalobah won the ball cleanly. Never in a million years was that a freekick! Joke ref! Just got back. First thing I've done (well after getting a beer) is checking whether the people watching on TV (stream) thought it was a free kick for the first. They didn't. Don't like to moan too much about referees, but he was a C**k of the highest order.

Hit the channels to try and win a corner. Or long diagonals for a centre forward to smash into centre backs, win the second ball and drop like a fly to win a free kick. Win set pieces high up the pitch because Gallagher whips in excellent deliveries.

Don't like to moan too much about referees, but he was a C**k of the highest order. No, I didn't think it was a free-kick at all. They benefited from a few questionable decisions in the first half, should have been down to 10 men after an atrocious challenge (maybe you didn't see that as you'd have been at the opposite end). On the whole, can't really complain too much about the result. Funny game, really. The support was mentioned as being big in numbers. Not much positive really apart from the last 20 (but you wouldn't have had the best view of that, either). In short: everything controversial that happened was in a sub-optimal position as regards the viewpoint of the away support, and the best Town showed dito. Jeez, I bet you couldn't even enjoy the view of the Pennines coming back at 17:30 or so, as it would have been dark. Hope you enjoy the view of your beer! :-)

Win set pieces high up the pitch because Gallagher whips in excellent deliveries. Think thats very harsh and a tad unfair. Also, it doesnt say much about our quality or indeed the rest of the league as they currently and deservedly sit second. Yes they are direct, intense, well structured and use the big lad up top.........but they do it really well and good luck to them. We on the other hand failed to lay a glove on them for an hour and by the time we got going the game was over. Going to be an interesting few weeks, cos any scout watching that today will report back that we cope badly with a high press and well delivered set pieces - the recent run has hidden this because we have scored first and had something to hold onto. Hopefully just a bad day...........big improvement on today needed to pull away from the bottom 3 given our atrocious start..... I fear for barnsley and maybe wigan, but the others are all capable enough and its going to be a battle if we are to pull away before the new year.

Half of their attacks came from us passing the ball backwards. Losing it due to their harrying or our sloppiness. We really miss Mooy or someone similar as there's often no outlet for our defenders. Its either pass it back/square or hit it long. We really do need to look to sign a playmaker in January, whether that be permanent or on loan. Also if there's a break clause in his loan, then send Chalobah back to Chelsea. May be taken out of our hands. Reports around that both Grabara and Chalobah may be sent elsewhere in January by their parent clubs if we are still in a relegation battle.

I am not sure why, certainly with a keeper, that would be an issue. Should get plenty of practice if the team are struggling. It certainly didn’t do O’Brien any harm at Bradford.
