They are top , won again today. Very tough game, a bogey bogey side too. Will take a point and be happy. Are they a bogey side? Not really, I've never known us win there but on the flip side I think I've only ever known them win once at Town. No. they are a bogey bogey side. We beat them at home regularly but Knee jerk Nick will spout some fact free groupthink at any given opportunity.

How much are their season tickets? Good point soon forgotten. Lol, some people have short memories don’t they. Our crowds struggled to top 16k even back in the 99/00 season when we were top and playing like Brazil for a few months under flat nose.

Strange game to attend, any particular reason, a Burnley supporting friend? The footage of this game is on You Tube. Yeah I was at uni with a Burnley boy. This match was MASSIVE for them. It was probably about 3 quid for a ticket and I got a free lift. I remember we got there late and the surrounding roads were rammed. We tried to sneak the car into the church car park right across the road.. The reverend came out and said "sorry boys you can't park there".. The driver said " but vicar... We are from. Burnley".. The reverend winked and waved us on. Your friend wasn't called Nick was he? Did you meet him in the toilets?

Went there in the '70's as a teenager for a night match midweek. Caught a coach/bus from near St Georges square in Town. Beers before and during journey over. Bus pulls up a fair way from ground to let us off. First half dozen get off before we are ambushed and a huge scrap starts. Lots of windmilling, shouting. After about a minute this kid shouts "Is that you Dave?" Everybody stops for a second and then realises our coach had been attacked by a load of Town fans. We didn't half chuckle.

I've certainly no fear of Preston even given our shocking record there. They, like us are in a false position. 3 points UTT

Always found the pre-match boozing in Preston poor and have been herded around by the police when arriving by train in the past. Thinking of getting off at Chorley instead and having a few there...anyone been?

My first trip to Preston was in the early seventies. As a naive 13/14 year old, in a group of also naive 13/14 year olds. We thought it would be a good idea to go in the Preston end, it wasn't.. Think my next away trip after Preston was a Blackburn midweek match. Expecting it to be nowhere as rough as Preston me and two mates decided on going. Down town after school and some tea in the El Greco, before getting on one of the three supporters coaches from the bus station. The coaches parked up in an area which was surrounded on three sides by grass bankings. Anyway after the game, we arrived back at the coaches ready for boarding. As we boarded, Blackburn fans appeared on all three bankings in a scene which resembled Zulu (not brummies nick) , but armed with bricks instead of spears. As the bricks rained down, it started off as women and children first but soon changed to every man for himself.. A fully air conditioned trip home to huddersfield, with a lot of windows put through... The score of the match? I've no fucking idea.. Next away day was Grimsby, it got worse.

If you want to be silly look back to the 1980s when crowds were far smaller - the comparisons are irrelevant.

Thinking of getting off at Chorley instead and having a few there...anyone been? Chorley is a good place and many teams’ supporters stop there - the local council have become very annoyed by this regular disruption to their peaceful town.

I have, for no reason that I can logically think of, a significant dislike of PNE. I think it may be because they really don’t like us very much for no particular reason. We always tend to struggle against them. For the poster who questioned whether it may be a 23000 sellout, their support (for a reasonable sized town and considering how well they are doing) is absolutely shite. Not sure why - similar sized club to us, similar sized ground, similar kind of history but nothing like the level of support we got in our excellent season 2016/17. Similar sized everything except for season ticket prices.. Adult £420 to £565. How many would we be getting at those prices?

I've always of thought of town being better supported than Preston. Not massively though definitely similar sized clubs.
If our season tickets were in the 400/500 pound region our attendances would of been shocking at the start of this season.

We'd be where we were with attendances under Powell, which was round about 12000, after we'd included pay on the dayers and the season ticket holders that weren't turning up.

I was at the Blackburn match that night, both sets of supporters behind the goal, coins you name it everything was thrown, my mate was hit on the head with a shoe, of all things.

I remember two missed bloody penalties and I think we lost 1-0 We did as I remember being there and predicting the obvious headline in examiner would be 'Town pay the penalty'

Just answering a few posts I've read on here: Their top scorer Johnson went off very early at the weekend so hopefully he’s not around at the weekend. We can never predict the starting 11 and this Saturday will be even harder. DJ, our top scorer, and Pearson are out for this game so it'll be a 2nd string midfield. Having Nugent and Stockley who are big lads we might just end up hoofing it past midfield which isn't our usual game. Pressing and harrying from the front to the back and playing through midfield is the usual. Always found the pre-match boozing in Preston poor and have been herded around by the police when arriving by train in the past. Thinking of getting off at Chorley instead and having a few there...anyone been? There are plenty of good boozers in Preston around the center and we dont have designated away fan pubs. Go where you like in small numbers while being polite and you'll get in anywhere. The 'problem element' putting it nicely, will get escorted to the vic and station pub and then to the ground about 2.30. Stay away from this group because you wont get out of the pub once you're in! There is an away day fan guide here to the decent ale pubs: pebbleleague.com/thread/8517/away-day-threadI've always of thought of town being better supported than Preston. We have about 11 or 12000 hardcore and then maybe about another 2 or 3 thousand walk ups depending on who we are playing. You will get the whole townend which holds 5000+ so I think youll have plenty of room! About PNE this season. Full squad cost about 3 million so you wont be seeing any superstar names playing for us! Most teams in this division have a sub worth more than our squad! We have been playing indifferently, Millwall and Reading we looked like relegation fodder and other games we've looked like Brazil! Many somewhere in between. Despite our position, many are still wondering if we will make the top 6, the top two we just cant compete with the cash other teams will throw at players in January. Back later. Enjoy the day in Preston, until 3pm!

We're looking for our first win in Preston since 10th November 1969...a coincidence? Nailed on victory to us.

Preston going great at home and we'll need to be really strong for this one. Got turned over last time we were there when we were punished from set plays - hope we've been practising. I can see Chalobah in for Hoggy, and Kongolo in at left back if he's fit and Brown isn't.

Just so long as the majority of fans expect a draw or a loss I grow more confident of a rare away win at PNE.
