Just about to take my mum out for a carvery, so brief views. Valuable point given other results and the opposition today. Stearman excellent, Toffolo good, ESR largely anonymous but signs of his potential second half. Have been a big fan of Kachunga in the post, so sad to see him struggling now, losing a bit of patience with him. Chalobah - no more please. Despite what some are saying to the contrary I suspect there could be another in having listened to DC’s interview on RL. He also seemed to infer that another departure could happen. Frustrating, but in the grand scheme of things, not a bad outcome. Right, time to go out again. Don't mean to be rude Epsom but your old Queen must be getting on! Hope she can still chew the carvery meat! 96 Oti and got all her marbles. She only has a small plate and a curry isn’t really her thing!

People need to realise Chalobah is in the team because he's the only midfielder we have with any height. We have a very small squad (height wise aswell as numbers) and Chalobah is in there to offer more protection when defending set pieces

Didn’t go today but that’s a really solid point against by all accounts one of the three best teams in the league, who were in very good form. I looked at our run-in after the Barnsley game (which I was at) and based on that performance it terrified me. Feeling a bit better about it now, good platform result today and sounds like new lads look decent. You looked at our run in after the Barnsley game? That’s 19 games ie just about half a season. That’s hardly a run in when we’ve got virtually everyone to play again

Chasing shadows first half. Pushed up and chased them for first 20 of the second half and had our best/ only attacking part of the 90. Dropped off to take the draw and almost lost the point. Defensively better but it's still hard to watch at times. Toffolo was solid and part of our best move of the game, ESR has no chance of we play in any sort of attacking system for just 20 minutes a game, Stearman defended, which is ok by me. We kept a clean sheet against a team that usually scores and scores more than one, that's good but the lack of attacking intent is annoying and worrying.

1st half dreadful.
2nd half much better. I thought they all put a shift in to a degree.. Stearman was excellent, o brien usual excellent, toff, very good, esr got more into it and you can see he has a touch of class about him. I thought chalabah was good today. Best game since he got sent off. Grant should have scored and probably would a month ago.

Some of Chalobah's passing and tackling was actually ok today but watching him dribble with the ball is absolutely painful. It's like watching a giraffe try to run with a beach ball

Christ that was dire, if anyone thinks that's a decent performance I want some of what you're on. Whereas we weren't bad we weren't great either, we created very very little aside from the Grant Gobber and if this continues we'll end up going down. What I will say is that we looked fairly solid defensively but going forward we are toothless. Dire? Weren't bad? Weren't good? Make your mind up art! Done well today imo ...as a spectacle it wasnt great but far from dire. Get used to it though.....we need to grind results out now Yes all 3, it was a dire spectacle as a game, I would have taken it if we had sneaked a 1-0 win but overall it was pretty poor. As I said we weren't horrifically bad but there was very little to get excited about from us. I will take us grinding results by all means.

Given the situation, three new starters, one who only arrived yesterday, and the quality of the opposition, that was a good performance. The two new defenders made an immediate difference and ESR looks to have the makings.
I know we have a way to go but that was a good point.
If we are playing as fluidly as Brentford next season I will be very happy. I think they are the best team I have seen at the Mac this season. Very tough opponents. The fact that most of the Kilner Bank stayed to applaud the team at the end makes me think I was not alone in my assessment.

He's shite at winning flick ons in the middle of the pitch but he's actually very good when defending balls from corners and free kicks Take him out of the team and the only height we have is the two centre backs. That's very dangerous against sides at this level and the Cowleys know it

The lack of support for anyone in their half who had the ball means a lightweight lad like ESR never had a chance, long high stuff was unlikely to get us anything either. Start of the second half suited the front 3 much better, we should have scored. Being good enough etc isn't an issue when you are as limited as we are for options, we played to our strengths all over the pitch for 20 minutes, even without scoring it's better to watch and at least we are playing in the right way and right direction.

No we didnt win but many predicted a defeat but to be honest Brentford didnt make many chances, the one that hit the post late on came out of nothing, new signings looked good against one of the in form sides in the division, taken 4 points off them now whereas they put many other opponents to the sword, its not a great result but it certainly aint a bad one either!

But he can’t jump or head or tackle Remarkable when they tell me he’s a centre half

He never wins a header, backs out of 50 50s and Stankovic could play there who actually wins headers.

Decent point in the end against one of the better sides in this league but for all their good football they didn't create many chances.First half we hardly had a kick but for 20 minutes at the start of the second half we were the better team and should have scored through Grant. Hanging on a bit at the end but bottom line is we've taken 4 points off Brentford, got to be happy with that and I'm a bit more optimistic for the rest of the season. UTT

I was surprised to hear how good a game it was on radio Leeds on way home. I thought it was poor. Brentford looked good at times. Apart from a 10 minute spell just after half time Town didn't look like scoring or even trying to score. Grabara taking 5 mins to take a dead ball, no one getting forward etc. It's hardly exciting stuff at the moment.

I'm surprised I even turned up, after seeing at 2pm the team included Chalobah and Kachunga.
Without Hogg, Stankovic had to start for me.
The new guys were OK, just settling in etc....

Happy with a point. Happy with the new signings. Not happy with Chabolah starting every week. Hogg to replace him in the next game. The season and survival in this division is now in good hands. Quietly confident UTT.

I have room for him in the car on my Journey back down South tomorrow

Good point against the divisions form team
They score nearly every game and today grabara didn’t have a save of note ... and if grant had his shooting boots on we may have won it
Stearman and toffolo look the part. Glimpses as well from ESR so lots of positives
Chalobah did lots right today and some things wrong - sadly for him many fans minds are set against him now so likely to focus on the errors and forget the good covering work and pass to grant he miscontrolled when he should have been in
21 more points needed

Missed Hogg who would have disrupted their flow in midfield. Agree re Kachunga- always be a hero to me, but enough is enough. We have no attacking threat down our right hand side because he’s lost the ability to take on and beat his man. Brentford are not a bad side and I thought we contained their forwards well, I didn’t even notice Ollie Watkins. Lack of creativity is still a major concern.

Two thoughts on today.
Can anyone remember three consecutive first halfs as bad as that?
I can't.
In each game the perfomance improved in the second half but we really need to start hitting the ground running.
On today's performance to avoid the unmentionable, it looks like we're going to have to rely on Fulham. Brentford (again) didn't look that great.
The championship really is a poor league this year.

Fair result, neither team on top for long enough to warrant all 3 points. We were much improved second half. If the new boys all gel in as well as Stearman we should be safe.

Quietly confident UTT. Not Chalolah's biggest fan, however he had a decent game today! Get off his back! He can be frustrating, but today he was good, let's support the players & team. Danny & Nicky know their stuff, they have a tough job this season! Stay in the Championship this season & we go again next season - UTT.
