Has anyone worked out how many permutations there actually are ? Or do we have to wait till after the Brum game , if we're still in it of course. That year Birmingham sent us down , wasn't that 1 in 33 chance of going down ? I tried to have a look yesterday, but I still think it’s very slim. It’s more the peripheral games where the incentives for other clubs don’t really do us any favours. At the end of the day, 46 games, we’ll deserve wherever we finish.

We beat Brum, Cov beat Blackburn, Wed lose or draw with West Brom.
Then against all odds we beat Ipswich and Brum beat Norwich. Wed lose or draw to Sunderland with Blackburn losing to Leicester, seeing Wednesday and Blackburn dropping, with Blackburn fans quoting unlikely maths for the next 20 years.

If we lose to Brum, we're down. Mathematically confirmed. No ifs, no buts, it's over.
If we draw, we will need to beat Ipswich AND hope that Massive don't take any more than 1 point from their final two games AND hope that Brum lose their final game.
If we beat Brum, we have to match their result on the last day AND take at least as many points away at Ipswich as Sheffield Wednesday do in their final two games - one of which is against the catastrophically out of form Sunderland.
To summarise - we need to win both our remaining games to have a realistic chance of staying up, and even then we're more likely to be relegated than stay up.
The fat lady is warming up her vocal chords...

I’m very much a happy clapper regarding Town but even I’ve give up this time...
I went through the anger stage last week after the bitch with a whistle cheated us -
I went through the grief stage yesterday after the captulitation to Swansea...
Today’s Wendy’s result is ma acceptance stage...
And I’ll get ma closure after the Ipswich game -
But HTAFC were in Division 4 when I started ma love affair with them - So I’ll cope with Division 3 (League 1)...
It’d galling at anytime is relegation but particularly in The 100th year anniversary of our first top title win - ☹️ ☹️
However once a Huddy Town fan - ALWAYS a Huddy Town fan is ma eternal mantra !

This time yesterday i was hoping we could guarantee survival before the Ipswich game. Now we are just hoping to take it to that game with even the slightest chance it means something.

The only chance we've got now is we must beat Birmingham and Sheff Wed must lose both their games with Birmingham losing their final game, we would stay up on goal difference provided Ipswich don't spank us...
We're fu##ed.
Edit. Forget the above because we're going to win at Ipswich and stay up.
Yes I'm pissed before anyone asks.

Leicester beat Southampton.. Ipswich win next 2 games .. Will mean Leicester and Ipswich confirm promotion before last game.. We beat Birmingham.. Thus rolling over in final game and we stay up.. 🙈🙈 It’s the hope that kills you.. 🥶🥶

There is only really one scenario where we stay up. We beat Birmingham. WBA beat Wednesday. Results somehow workout that Ipswich have nothing to play for last game.
I’d say the odds are similar to the last time we got relegated from this league.

Two of four for automatic
Most of the top nine in some playoff permutations
Two of seven for the drop
Far fewer permutations after next weekend….!!

The fat lady is warming up her vocal chords... Yesterday was final proof (if it were needed) that everything is conspiring to relegate us. As I said earlier, I gave up after Preston, but for those who like to drag this out, there's one other way we can stay up. Win the last 2, Blackburn lose the last 2 and Plymouth get less than 2 points. If Wednesday lose to WBA, we'd only need one of Plymouth or Blackburn to fuck up. 1/9 to go down from here, think that's being way over cautious, more like 1/50. We're going to be the biggest part of 9/1 just to win at Ipswich!

We are gone unfortunately. We've been shit all year but even more sickening to think of all winning positions we've squandered plus the 90+ minute goals conceded against Hull home & away, Bristol City away and QPR away. Holding on for another couple minutes in those games alone is 6 points and we are already planning for next season. Shambles and big reality check for the club coming in summer.

Yes it's been a combination of bad luck and self inflicted like it often is when you get relegated. Plenty freak results recently too, Blackburn's keeper yesterday just the latest in a long line of things conspiring against us.

The paranoid amongst us might think the whole of football has got together and agreed to relegate Huddersfield Town! Not me, it is just poor footballers.
