Think the fact you can count on one hand the times we have come from behind to win a game over a long period tells the Town story. Fans are what they are, a mix who's reaction to defeats vary wildly. I said on here before the game the team will turn up or not, neither Andre or the crowd was going to make much or any difference. Saturday, we simply cannot go behind, we know that and I guess the manager and team do. It leads to some very dull performances that have not got the points required, interspersed with decent performances once we got the lead and some dreadful hidings. There is inconsistency but we are very, very poor on our bad days. We may or may not turn up saturday, the magnitude of not winning may not be enough.

Unless we win, you can forget about the players coming back out with it being the final home game of the season on Saturday to do the customary walk around the pitch with their kids in tow. Those left in the ground will likely turn on them which wouldn’t be pleasant. If we show no desire on the pitch, AB again picks a team with no strikers and centre halfs at right back and right backs at left back, then they’ll deserve all the stick directed at them on top of relegation. Last Saturday was totally unacceptable in addition to all the other unacceptable performances this season.

My God. I'd love to see how a bigger fan base would have reacted to what we've put up with over last few years. We’d have loved it mate. I can take that from you 🤣

Saturday will be interesting if we are relegated at 5pm. Some fans will drift off, some will vent. And some will applaud them and cheer them around a lap of honour. That will be an all time low for me.

and…. logic dictates smaller towns with less potential supporters would have to charge more to be able to compete with those in cities? No say Town fans, season tickets should cost £250 and with that £250 we should be pushing for the Premier League. Ticket prices in the grand scheme of things make not a lot of difference to the budget. club might make an extra 100k if they upped them £100

I thought the crowd were okay on Saturday considering the stuffing has been well and truly knocked out of us over the last few seasons. As for the Burgzorg booing - 100% deserved - will be amazed and disappointed if he's even in the squad next weekend - that incident was off the scale not giving a shit about the club. I wouldn't even have him around training - you can see his teammates are sick to fucking death of him.

Nothing toxic at all.
As a previous poster alluded to, we have put up with a lot more rubbish from owners/managers and players than most teams fans would do.
The examples of Wednesday and Brum are spot on. Less than a season of shite and they were kicking off big time. We’ve had this garbage since 2018 (bar Corberans play off season). Thats 1 decent season out of five with the others being dire.
So no in short our fans are not toxic, they have just been pushed too far.
As I mentioned before on another thread. Actions have consequences and in our case utterly garbage actions/decisions are now resulting in the inevitable bad consequences.
Add to this that the ability to be financially able to watch town for the majority of us comes from a hard weeks work, a lifetimes for some of the more mature ones amongst us. So I think us fans are more than entitled to expect better than the complete shit show we have been served up over the majority of the last 5 years and are well within our rights to vocalise it.

The basic principle though is that for every pound that comes in you can spend five (i’m making the numbers up) Newcastle are the richest club in the world but can’t spend that money and now have to sell players. All i’m trying to say is if we don’t get money in, Kevin’s wealth is irrelevant. Is FFP a thing in League One? I’m guessing it is having watched the Welcome to Wrexham thing.

There is a bit on the andre thread about it m8 It shouldn't really affect us the first season and hopefully it's only 1 season we will be there It's the second season where we can only spend 60% of total income on players wages

The fact that they've spent more time in the bottom two tiers than the top two. It's not rocket science, is it? When i went to school they were very similar in every way. Anything that happened before that doesn’t seem too relevant in terms of current fans expectations.I’m fairly sure they do not see us a bigger/higher league club on the whole. So if historical league positions are irrelevant to judge whether a team is lower league, what should we use to fit your nonsense? The last 20 years? Bradford have had 1 season in the Championship and 11 seasons in league 2. In the same period of time we've had 1 season in league 2 and 12 seasons in the championship/premier league. Same expectations? What a load of nonsense 🤣🤣🤣

My point is that i don’t believe that their fans expect any less than ours. Unless you’re over 70 years old Huddersfield have not been a big club in your lifetime. I’m 49, i’ve seen Bradford and Town in the Premier League 2 seasons each. We both plummeted to Division 4. We just found Jacko and then Dean Hoyle to bring us back. As soon as they get an owner like ours, they will be moaning that they are only 21st in the Championship eventually.

As previously stated elsewhere in the last decade out of all football league clubs we've losy the most times and conceded the most goals.
Yet crowds have remained the same/improved.
Id class myself as a happyclapper these days because I cant be arsed being angry at something I've no control over but I can see why people lost their tempers on Saturday, booed and shouted some bad words at footballers who have become millionaires playing very averagely for Huddersfield Town.

I'm very much the same. If I see effort, no matter how crap the quality, I pretty much get behind them. I turned on Saturday, and I suspect I'm among the most patient of supporters. Short of being some kind of Anglo-Saxon martyr, I'm not sure what else I'd have had to weather. There are, inevitably, some who will dissent and boo at the slightest provocation. Slightly under-par first half where we've not had any shots on target? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. But they're a small minority. What we see now is a majority of fans who are just fed up of crap decisions and an acceptance of mediocrity, which the club should be concerned about. It reminds me of when Dean Hoyle took over, when 6,004 die-hards stuck out a freezing night against Brighton, when 7,800 witnessed home defeat to Southend and left without anger. The club has to give us a lift, not the other way round.

The second goal is one of the worst goals I’ve seen us concede as a team Free kick promising position All centre halves up Thomas plays it straight into the keepers arms at least 10 yards from the target Keeper and left back react left back sprints the length of the field Where are we? We couldn’t be arsed or don’t have the legs to get back And second point - that’s the at least half a dozen time we’ve capitulated this season. No matter who the manager. Once is forgivesble several times beyond laughable Totally agree, but we wouldn't have been chasing the game if Koroma had scored from 10 yards or if Burgzorg had just looked up and seen either Koroma or Rudoni waiting for a shot at a goal with no keeper in it, or, in the first half, if Koroma had had the pace and confidence to stay ahead of the last defender after Rudoni's excellent through ball (or, having given that up, passed it to Thomas). After the Burgzorg balls up, Rudoni shows his extreme frustration and after Koroma's (in the first half), so does Thomas. So why is this allowed to keep happening? Ironically, the goal you describe finished with a simple pass and an unmissable open goal.

I think we have our quota of idiots but lets remember 6 years ago we stayed up in the Premier League - probably the high water mark in most Town fans experience with the club
I remember speaking to Coventry fan at that time (then League Two) and thinking we were light years ahead of them. How things quickly change!
Coventry are well run and Town well - utterly clueless
The club has made probably over 100 shocking decisions to get this point. It really is shocking, I mean even if you tried deliberately you'd struggle to make it this bad.
Remember we earned more EACH season in the PL than Leicester did when they won the competition in 2016. No one on the new TV deal should be getting relegated within 5 seasons of earning £250,000,000. That's quarter of a billion pounds!
This season is bad but frankly par for course for 5 of the last 6 seasons - it's probably the straw that broke the back for many watching gutless footballers give up in a must win game against a side with nothing to play for. I mean we didn't even have a shot on target
I think most fans would have vented frustrations a lot sooner than Town fans have.

They’re a lower league club. Different expectations. In what sense are they a lower league club? Switch owners and we’d very quickly switch league positions. Because they’ve spent the majority of their history there? Swap owners? There’s a reason Town could attract an American billionaire and they can’t.

Far more powerful than hurling abuse (which could get you arrested and banned)

Everything that needed to be said was said on Saturday, a mass exodus at full-time is all that will be required against Birmingham, and fingers crossed we'll never see most of them players ever again.

Toxic, no.
Worn out, tired yes in deed. I think we've all had a gutsful of things now. With the exception of the play off final season a couple of years ago (how we even did that, I'm not sure), things have been very difficult at Town since, well since Wagner left. I'd even argue it was like that before he even left.
I think I can speak for most, if not all of us when I say we're just sick of it.

What am I missing? Yes, massive brain fart from me. But I honestly don't think they would sell 10k SC if they upped the price by £100. Then considering footfall in terms of fan zones, club shops, programmes etc. I personally don't think it would be viable. Especially given recent 2 seasons.
