Agree with the OP. Disgrace that people think that game and this season is at all worth clapping.
As someone said, town will have to make actual hard working people redundant.
Clap those people not this absolute wasters wearing the shirts who have failed to do their jobs for years.
Won't be sad to see the back of every single one of those.

I can't have a reasoned argument when someone is claiming that those players aren't shit. What have you been watching all season? I've been watching the same football as you. And clearly have a different opinion. You dont seem to be able to accept that 'they are shit' is your VIEW that someone might try to qualify at least. Anyway it's a bit raw at the moment so happy to allow you to have your view if I'm allowed mine....is that OK with you? Do what you want. I think they're shite, and you don't. End of discussion.

Just one question... why? Just let people do what they want to do and you do you!

Not that I was going to clap them, but the cowards weren't even going to go round until Helik told them too.
Trying to scrurry down the tunnel as fast as possible.

Can't believe the players like getting beat. If they try then a round of applause for their seasons efforts is fine. On a personal note. When I played, all be it at a way lower level, I used to hate getting beat. Nothing better than shaking hands at the end of a game with a team of players you have just beat. Nothing worse than shaking hands with some smug c**t that has just beaten you! Don't think its a case of like getting beat, but on this seasons showing I'd very much believe that too many of them don't care if they get beat

When has it become acceptable to applaud failure and a lack of effort? And whilst we’re on it, when did it become the norm for any team to do a tour of the pitch on the last home game of the season unless said team were entering the play-offs? We were off today as soon as the ref’s whistle touched his lips.

We were off today as soon as the ref’s whistle touched his lips. The fans applauded, celebrated and cheered relegation in 2019. Why would today be any different?

Because Jonny Hogg led the team around the pitch. They were showing appreciation for the support. He looked gutted and his gesture merited reciprocation.

Utter bollocks. They haven't been good enough....haven't had the desire in some games....deserved to get relegated. But the vast majority of them did try. And especially today. I didn't clap them but if you are disgusted by clapping then I'm equally disgusted to hear 'you're not fit to wear the shirt' chants. In my book that's even more unfathomable how that's going to help anything...its puerile. I'm very pissed off and this is now a big close season....mainly for me after years of struggle to create and score goals the imperative is to find a more front foot attacking creativity You admit yourself they haven't had the desire in games?! That's the very very very fucking least thing they should have. I can forgive someone being shit, but not having desire, being unfit and having the heart of a pea is unforgivable.

They didn’t get relegated on purpose, they’re just not very good players…don’t see an issue with some low key ‘well at least you tried’ clapping Anyone who clapped, please stay away. If that is worthy of clapping, you are also one of many issues at the club right now. Sorry mate but that’s a load of shite. People supporting their team are the problem? Really? Who made you the moral guardian of HTFC?

Maximum effort is the bare minimum! Some of them haven't even given that this season.

I don't swear on here but this thread has got me closest of any, and there have been some very annoying threads on here. I stayed and applauded the team off. They gave their all today and as Gary Rowett said "I thought both teams put it all out there on the line and competed fabulously well." And he was right. Given the pressure they gave it their all. This squad may not be good enough to maintain a place in the Championship but you applaud them because they gave it everything today and because THEY ARE OUR TEAM!! I will be there next season supporting my team however good or bad it is. That is why we are called supporters and anyone who has a problem with that can do one.

You might have given your all for 10 years and given us memories of a lifetime but we sacked a manger when all was well. This now might be the last time we see you on our pitch. How dare you walk round. What a wanker.

The same people that celebrate draws.since when did not winning be something to celebrate in any form of sport?

Thats okay then. They didn't give their all for the qst half. They've not given their all for most the season. Because they gave their all for 45 minutes today that's okay? Does that mean we have stayed up? Did we get a bonus point for it? Get with the real world.

What did you do at end of game then? I left straight away. I said my piece and voiced my opinions last week and I wasn't wasting my breath doing it again this week. Those players weren't worthy of being clapped off today.

You’re taking yourself off down a massive rabbit hole now. Professional sport is all about winning. Am I wrong? I don’t think you’re wrong, no. But not everyone can win can they? And maybe it’s best not to be a dick (not saying you’re a dick!) when you don’t. We’ve all had lots of practise at not winning for a long time haven’t we? Hogg, Turton, Pearson, Nicholls, Lees all been part of teams in better times. Helik committed. What’s wrong with clapping them? Bit of a silly discussion really isn’t it, regardless of which side we’re on?!
