Fair play to you WT, for naming your source. Shame its not your regular source though who always seems to be right.
Trying hard not to believe it, cause I don't want to be dissapointed, but its difficult.

Imagine the shock-waves this would send throughout the Football League and beyond if it turns out to be true...

I know, I was bracing myself for the dissapointment of Adkins yesterday, now I'm daring to dream again, it will all end in tears, I'm sure of that.

I don't tinker I say what i know....and what I know is that it's possible....stranger things have happened and all the reasoned thinking leads you to believe the circumstantial evidence. It's like an episode of Quincy and Walsall Terrier is Jack Klugman

I am sorry to be such a misery but a mail from some bloke in the West Midlands who works for a League 1 club is hardly the font of all knowledge. I know Walsall has passed this on in good faith but all this speculation is usually well wide of the mark...how many people predicted Ternent??
Here's a thought though IF it was big Sam, Oggy would be struggling for a post match interview wouldn't he?

If the players thought it was scary playing for Ternent, they'd better not upset Sam.

We just need an assistant called Frank with "connections" and we'll have a right pack with Sam and Dean ;D

This I like:
"My life is about trying to win a football match whenever that football match comes around. The only time I'm ever happy is when we've won, and even then I'm never satisfied."

As much as i would love this to be true, I can't see it happenning. It was only a few years ago that he had a chance of being England manager and then hes decided now he wants to manage Huddersfield Town, its not just a step down its great big fall down 10 flights of stairs. Im sure he could get a job in the premier league or championship with the amount of managers getting sacked.
I really hope its true and that he wants to maybe start again with a club from the bottom with a good fan base and lots of potential and do everything his way but im gonna try and not get too excited about it just yet.

Can't see it myself but I noticed that one of our posters,, who I know is related to one of the clubs heirarchy, uses Big Sam as his avatoir. Does he know something we don't?

Only a few years ago McLaren DID get the england job, and now no one in the prem or even the championship would touch him!
I don't see why some think this is so inplausible. hes just said hes desperate to get back in and doesn't mind if its a FL club just so long as they are ambitious. So hed be starting a division lower than hed perhaps like, but so what. Its the ambition that counts- where we COULD be ,not where we ARE. We're in his part of the country and he even has a bit of history at the club.
Seems a hell of a lot more plausible than paying £1.2m to get Adkins, thats for sure!

If this turns out to be true I think I may spontaneously combust.
Big Sam was my pick for the England job when McLaren got it and I was still keen on him when Capello got it (I like Fabio so far though). I don't think he got enough time at Newcastle cos they are a problem club and cos they ridiculously think they deserve to win the league, they weren't happy with Sam... Rome wasn't built in a day.
Allardyce is a great manager and I think he could easily get a job in the Premier.
I hope this is true but I'm struggling to believe it.

I'm not sure how easily he'd get a job in the Premier League, who do you think would employ him? At the beginning of this season Blackburn fans didn't want him anywhere near their club. Bolton won't have him back. It'd have to be one of the lower teams, maybe West Brom or Fulham.

Hazy memories but wasn't it Big Sam who chased that fella who'd just broken David Burke's leg the length of the pitch to plant one on him?
