As happy as I'd be, I'm expecting bryan robson to be appointed and then when anyone else is appointed, I'll be over the moon!
Walsall is usually right! but I think even he admits, his source isn't from inside on this - but at least he's being honest with it and not just saying its x, y, z etc.
I wanted parkinson, it was park...oh its ricthie
I wanted allen, it had to be allen, it was all....turnip
So if we all start to think its allardyce and then its adkins, how disappointed would I be!

I just got a call from a mate who works at Bangkok airport. Apparently Peter Reid just had a massive fallout with the Thai FA. It turns out Reid used to play golf with Dean Hoyle He's on the next flight in to Manchester, with a view to signing a contract in the morning. And he's bringing 3 Thai lads with him.

Not very many flights leaving Thailand at the moment, he might not arrive until next season!

Summed up exactly how I feel, I just can't help getting excited about Allardyce, or Boothroyd, it's just setting me up for another fall. The only time recently we've got the man I wanted was when Jacko came back. Before then I remember logging onto an internet cafe on holiday in Tenerife, and seeing Mick Wadsworth staring back at me, and knowing it was all going to go wrong. I was so excited about Parkinson, and can remember the horror of that morning, unable to believe that he'd done a u-turn. One of my best mates is a Charlton fan, I could barely speak to her for days. Seeing Allen watching Town from the kilner bank, I knew he'd do a job for us, and then Ternent comes from no where, a has been, yesterdays man, and look where we've ended up. So here we go again, much as I want to trust Dean Hoyle and I'm sure he'll do what he thinks is best. I just can't help but feel that I'm going to be dissapointed again. Just put me out of my misery Town, can't take much more of this speculation.

Going by this message board one or two make out they know who the next manager is going to be, but from what i have been told even a close friend of Dean Hoyle can't get anything out of him and he has been trying for over two weeks so i would find anything on here regarding any manager is nothing but wild guessing and hoping to get one right and say i told you so. Walsall terrier is normally on the ball, and the fact his info has come from someone at another football club could be a bit nearer the mark. I like many thousands of town fans expect a manager who will be looked upon as being a big letdown on face value but who knows, Deano might just pull something off and suprise us yet.

I know where you're coming from, paulmat, hence my post yesterday 'Help me please... I'm sinking fast' However, I think we have to remember that Deano hasn't actually chosen a manager for us before... the last duffer was the choice of Messrs Watson and Davey. He certainly isn't rushing into a decision. It's his money and he knows that when he finally decides, he's going to have to back his man to the hilt. That being the case he will certainly be trying to pull out all the stops and might yet well surprise us with a big fat rabbit out of the hat... ya never know! Here's hoping, anyway!

As Melc suggests the leaks out of the club are in short supply. But i do know that Boothroyd is still in the equation and someone who usually would tell me "no" if i was way off gave me a "no comment" when asked about Allardyce. I think he may have been asked or has enquired.

I was told no for allardyce from someone who knows his agent. Its possible that they are keeping things close to their chest and just lied about it however I was told big sam had something lined up a couple of days after stan was sacked. What makes me think (even more) that it isn't sam is I can't think of any plausible reason why he wouldn't be here already if he was interested. Personally I think he'll be going to forest. If it isn't big sam then I think the club could do themselves a big favour and quash the rumour and rule him out. I think a lot of fans, however sceptical of whether they think he's really coming or not, will be a little disappointed with whoever we appoint because they've got their hopes up for Allardyce.

Has all the fuss about the dodgy dealings with his son/agent died off then? Was it just his son that was involved? Maybe there is something more in it than I've read about but it is a little difficult to believe that he has been out of management for a year.

Freddi - so, at the moment, from your perspective - it's Allardyce? If so, was this compo talk regarding Adkins untrue? Is he a fallback option?

I can't believe for a second he'd take the Town job.
There will be plenty of championship clubs that would happily take a punt on him based upon his outstanding record at Bolton. Then there's his wages...
Premiership 1/2M a year at least. Newcastle at least 1.5M a year. Championship - prob 250K a year. League 1 - 100k?
The main reason he's been out of work for a year is because he's being paid a fortune by Newcastle & can afford to take a break for the 1st time in about 10 years & can wait for the right job - which isn't at a team in the bottom half of League 1(as much as I'd love him to get the job).

Why do you feel the need to take exception to everything I say? I don't have a problem with Freddi, I voted entertaining on the poll ... I merely asked for clarity in that last post ...
I don't understand how I've treated anyone badly.
Anyway, on topic - if you please! This forum's for HTFC matters ... and that's how it should stay, as I'm sure most people would agree looking at the events of just a few days ago.

You're absolutely right, and that's the one consolation I've got this time, whoever he appoints, I'll be thinking, he impressed Deano so he can't be that bad. That's what I was thinking when it looked like Adkins yesterday. The rollercoaster continues, I'm sure deep down I love it really. It's better than any soap opera

Allow me to clarify. One Admin attacked Freddi earlier. Harmless soul that he is, Freddi responded in a very restrained way. Well done Freddi. You sir, then seek to justify the previous Admins misdemeanour and intimate that Admins should not be discussed on this thread. I beg to differ, it was this thread where the poor soul Freddi was shot down by a member of the Admin staff, who if they have a desire to be personal and attack posters in such a way should consider thier position and become an 'ordinary' poster and therefore is pertinant to this thread.
I just hope Freddi isnt put off providing information on events, and even if they are complete 'pie in the sky' its helped filled an hour in the abscence of Mr Ross, his poofs and his piano.
Now Sir, i have no desire to continue this further. I have made my point and i will bid you good night.

It was the context in which it was used.
Perhaps "Oh Freddi you are a terrible tease. Please do stop it." would have been better.
Fair thee well.

Freddi - so, at the moment, from your perspective - it's Allardyce? If so, was this compo talk regarding Adkins untrue? Is he a fallback option? It's very possible both could be true. Just because one may have happened doesn't mean the other must be untrue. After previous manager fiascos it would be prudent to pursue more than one at once. Whilst pursuing Allardyce find out how much compo Adkins would require. A sensible approach if that is indeed the case.

If so, was this compo talk regarding Adkins untrue? Is he a fallback option? No. He is next Town manager. Well, you've stuck by your word, which does make for a more convincing showing ... So, does your source suggest that compo's been agreed, what do you feel Town are waiting for?
