Look i know i'm gonna get slated for being negative but I'm a bit dissapointed. I have no worries about someone who's never managed taking the job, what I am worried about is no coaching experience eg. working with the reserves or the youth team. I would have been a lot happier with Mitchell or Appleton. I will however be giving Lee Clarke my full support from day one till the day he leaves.

He's too inexperienced, he managed the Newcastle reserves for about a year, and being an assistant is irrelevant. Mitchell is in charge of the youth team, Appleton is in charge of the reserves. Both have done their jobs for a lot longer than Clarke.

The Brother-in-law is a Newcastle fan and he says Clarke did a superb job for their reserves.
Looks like we did approach Big Sam, but only to ask for his opinion of Lee Clarke.

Both have done their jobs for a lot longer than Clarke. I would say being an assistant is more worthwhile than being a youth coach but just my opinion. I saw an article from the Norwich site where Roeder said he had Clark doing a lot of work a manager does so i imagine that would have helped him in his interviews. Anyway my two penneth - pleased if it's true and he takes the job - young hungry and ambitious. He fits the criteria Deano set out so looking forward to seeing how he does and interested in which staff he brings with him

Norwich City boss Glenn Roeder has dismissed media speculation linking assistant manager Lee Clark to the vacant manager's job at Huddersfield Town.
Speaking exclusively to the club's official website he said: "Reports over the weekend and on Monday morning suggesting that my assistant manager Lee Clark is about to join Huddersfield as their new manager are totally unfounded and untrue.
"How these irritating stories start I do not know. I have a very good relationship with Lee. If he was about to join any other club I would know a long time before it got into the media. This is just wild speculation and it's very unhelpful.
"Lee is fully committed to myself and Norwich City like all the rest of the backroom staff here. I have assembled the best backroom staff I have ever had and we all know that we need to improve results - but that will be done with the help of the players, staff and everybody at the club, and I stress everybody, pulling in the right direction.
"We are facing our most important match of the season against Ipswich, a game I can assure our supporters everybody at Colney and Carrow Road is working very hard to prepare for and looking forward to greatly."

Sky is quite regularly wrong. In the rush to get things up before anyone else I've often seen them trail things that are then withdrawn when it turns out to not be true - I have a telly at the end of my desk with sky news/ssn/bbc 24 on all the time at work. Admittedly these things are never quite as visible or stick around for as long as this manager claim did, but I think from the silence ever since, both from Sky and the club, you can guess they're either wrong or have jumped the gun in a big way.

everyone at Newcastle thinks he is s**t Everyone at Newcastle thinks Kevin Keegan is a good manager, so I'd not trust a geordie's opinion. Although if Clark is manager I may have to

The cheap option again. Maybe i expect too much, but i have a problem with mediocrity.
Isn't everything just swell.
Here's to a leap into the un-known

jacko was a cheap option and had no experience, and yet he managed to get us promoted (having started with 8 players),only just miss out on the playoffs, and get to the playoffs in 3 years.......sometimes the cheap option isnt always the worst
