So in true HTFC 'totally jumping the gun he's not even here yet' style who do we think in the current first team will be shown the door once the new manager's seen us play a few times?

Just think he's just going to be another Ternant.
Can see him bringing a few former norwich boys in, possibly Cureton when the dingles to the south are done with him?
Maybe a few Geordie links will be brought up? Who knows, only person that will do when it's confirmed is Lee Clark.

i dunno who will be first - but in January me personally (assuming decent funds for new players is available) would try to off load quite a few: glennon, williams, unsworth, lucketti, kamara, worthy, cadders, jevons, flynn then i wouldnt offer new deals to everyone who is out of contract (except holdsworth perhaps) - although this may change on how they perform from now until the end of the season overall big changes to the squad between now and the new season kicking off are required if we are to achieve our aim of promotion although when DH takes full control in the summer i think we will see far greater spending than we have done thus far

Id try and offload the obvious weaker/underperforming players players which as I see it is Lucketti,Unsworth, Flynn, Kamara and possibly williams. Flynn and Williams I can see a League 2 team willing to take them but the others I think we'll be stuck with til their deals run out. Id let Boothy go in the summer with maybe a swansong at the end of the season to say goodbye if we have nothing to play for. If Cads stays fit from now on Id offer him a new deal, but only a 1 year one.
After that id prefer to see who we sign before releasing anyone else. The bulk of the squad isn't far off what we need but a striker ,or even better two, is a MUST as job number 1 for Clark.

Or is that you'd let Glennon go AFTER bringing in another experienced keeper? I'd be happy to agree with the rest so long as we had the funds to replace them with improvements. Roberts Holdsworth Berrett Butler Smithies Nathan Clarke Parker Crainey Goodwin are the ones I would keep for definite - first team or fringe players would be up to how they perform (obviously dependant on budget).

No one seems to want to keep Cadders yet he is one of our better players. Odd.

i would buy a keeper in january....if a decent one was available and if we have the funds available although glenda has 18 months left on his contract so god knows who would take him. although given that he is the best keeper outside the championship / our best keeper for 25 years it shouldnt be too hard int it? ;D im not convinced by either craney or goodwin - i think they are decent enough - but good enough to be regulars in a promotion winning team? im not sure. we have to be a whole lot better, on a consistent basis, than we have been for 3 calendar years now. which is why i think we need a complete overhaul the only reason i dont include players such as goodwin and butler on my list is because they are on 3 year deals (i believe) - and cant see us transfer listing them with that long to go on their contracts - but would make them available should someone want to take them from us....

I don’t expect a January Sale. The only ones I can see leaving are Unsworth (to a player/coach job), Lucketti (although we’d have to pay him off) and Flynn. I think the others will have until the end of the season.

cadders one of our better players? he is a striker (apparently) who has played about 20 league games for us and scored, i dunno, 3 times? and that is since we signed him the summer before last. if he stays fit (which he has not managed yet for any period of time - in his career not just since he signed for us) until the end of the season i would perhaps offer him a "pay as you play" deal? but no chance i would give him another 2 years.

Personally I'd be chopping for definite
Unsworth Lucketti Flynn Jevons
I'd give Kamara, Williams, Cads and Craney until the end of the season to step up significantly
Also at risk for me would be Goodwin
At the end of the day all those I've mentioned (with maybe the exception of Kamara) will be among the top dozen earners at the club IMO. It's unacceptable that they're no more than ordinary players, shape up, be the "main men" in the side and earn your big salaries otherwise we should get rid and get in new big earners capable of cutting it at the top of League One!

we have to be a whole lot better, on a consistent basis, than we have been for 3 calendar years now. which is why i think we need a complete overhaul I think the single biggest reason for our failure over that period has been our lack of a 20+ goal striker. It’s no coincidence that our slump in form started when Pav took his scoring boots off. That’s why I think a complete overhaul is unnecessary.

So Cadders is one of our better players!! A striker who doesn't score and as a winger creates sod all, patches of nothingness mixed with long spells on the treatment table. The same people who herald cadders are probably the same ones who chastice the likes of liability Clarke (best defender this season) and lambast Collins for 'doing nothing' (4 goals in 5). Talk about fickle, let's hope they give Lee Clark a fair crack of the whip. IMO Just what we need a young ambitious manager who appears to have a burning desire to forge a sucessfull career at the top level. Hopefully this will be with us but if a top team comes in for him at some stage then he'll have acheived some kind of sucess with us. Well done Dean Hoyle for not recruiting yet another member of the old boys network. Lets all get behind the new manager who comes with no baggage or horror stories, the only thing we can level at him is inexperience and we've all got to start somewhere.

we have missed a 20 goal striker that is true, and our slump did coincide with pav's departure
however, in this time we have also had:
an average/poor keeper a couple of clowns at centre back (clarke and mirfin) a rubbish left back no decent defensive central midfielder no creative central midfielder no decent wingers (until roberts)
sort that lot out clarky and you will be fine! ;D

What's the obsession with getting rid of Flynn? I don't see the problem with him if truth be told. He was played out of position for the majority. Looked useful in the midfield three before his injury, is the best striker of a ball in the club and weighs in with his fair share of goals. He might not make everyone's starting 11 (he'd make mine), BUT I think he has plenty to offer us.
Why do we have to write Jevons and Lucketti off. Jevons' form this year has been poor, but Collins was poor for the majority of two years before discovering a midas touch in front of goal recently (hence he's gone from many a person's first one out of the door, to being kept). Knee-jerk reactions to players current form are plain silly.
Form is temporary and there is evidence to suggest that if Jevons gets his confidence back, he can still be a real asset. Lucketti has been a big disappointment, but he may still have a part to play. Do we want to spend the rest of the season with only Clarke, Clarke and Butler as our centre-backs, with Killock as back-up?

Has anyone actually seen Eastwood play other than 5 mins in the Arsenal pre-season game?
Surely unless you've seen him play you can't make a judgement! You might as well add Codman and Denton to your list by that rationale and if you weren't at Crewe last season Killock as well
You don't get selected for England U18's by fluke - maybe people are jumping the gun on him!

I think there are some personal issues with Flynn at the club. I’m certainly cynical enough to wonder how “injured” he was. I can see a new manager looking at our numerous options in midfield and deciding to take the easy way out by letting him go.

In all fairness he nearly 20 and doesn't show half the talent that Smithies does. His contracts out at the end of the saeson and i think we have another year option which i imagine we may take but if it was me Easty would be on his way. I've seen codman etc play in theressies 2/3 times and codman and killock look like decent player and certainly could do a job for us!

Floyds - if you really think Clarke is a clown in the back then I give up! I really don't understand the negativity about Clarke, if he had been newly brought in this season he'd be raved about , but because he has this stupid stigma attached to him a lot of people can't seem to get past this and see the fact that he is a very good centre back in this league.
Even Stan saw that and he even dropped his very own Chris Lucketti for him.
And yes Clarke did play poorly in the season Jacko got sacked , but every player goes through a dip in performances and it didnt help when he had that clown Mirfin playing alongside him (I agree with your judgement of Mirf Floyds!)

None of us know what happened, although Paul Ogden on Radio Leeds on Saturday did say he did not want to go out on loan. He was sent.
