according to the OS its a minutes applause, not a minutes silence (personally always think a minutes silence can be interrupted and that applause is a more appropriate way of celebrating his life and what he did for our club)

Apologies. Misread the email. It does say minute's applause. That would have been really confusing if everybody around me had been clapping like hell and I was stoney silent.

Funniest minute's silence I remember was Boothy getting injured during one for Princess Margaret. His knee locked up and he had to be substituted before the kick-off.

Started watching Town in the 69/70 season. Great memories, even though I was only 8. Anybody else remember the day we one the championship at Blackburn, or the pitch invasion after Watford at home. RIP Ian. Yes my late Dad & I were at Blackburn that day.

R.I.P Mr Ian Greaves. Condolences to his family. Lived down Rastrick at the time Town were in their Glory Years, Fantastic to have a Great Manager, A Great Team and YES even A Great Following as we all know. Good to see the Club are going to acknowledge in the short space of time. Remember being on the field when we won against Watford ,last game. THOSE WERE THE DAYS MY FRIEND. Remembered forever.

Ian Greaves and Henry Cockburn what a dream team combination.I still remember very much a lovely conversation I had with him whilst still nursing. He had brought one of the players to HRI for a medical. I can`t off hand remember who?
Then he and the Town team became my potential number one enemy!!!!!!!!!! as my better half chose to go to the football game at Leeds Rd. rather than stay near at hand as I was due to give birth to one and only daughter!!!!!!.
Happily everything turned out well.We won, I staved off labour pains for two more days and he once again became one of my two all time favourite managers.
May you rest in peace and I`m sure your great friend HC has warmed up the dugout bench for you.
RIP Ian and deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Sandy and Keith.

Sad day. He was a bit angry all the time but did a fantastic job. Very important part of Huddersfield Town history and hopefully will never be forgoten. He once told me off in no uncertain terms when I was autograph hunting outside Leeds Rd and I was sat on a white Ford Classic.......then he took me INSIDE the ground and gave me about 20 programmes all from the same game and told me to give em away outside.......great man and great manager.

Very sad to pick that up just before the start of the game as I had not heard about it previously. A good tribute from the fans to a Town great - that was the best team (including the Bruce team) that I have seen in our colours. I watched them train a few times and even as an bystander it was plain to see there was only ever "One Captain on't ship" Thanks to Ian for brilliant memories & condolences to his family
