Just wanted to say how good I thought these 2 were yesterday. Absolutely dominated against two tricky strikers.
I was very impressed with the pairing
On a more sour note I really don't understand why some people bother turning up to watch us.
I was sat on the far right of the stand as you watch the game. I had this "bandwagon jumper" sat a few rows behind who seemed intent of letting everyone know he didn't like Williams and pointed out anything he did even marginally wrong while unsurprisingly turning a blind eye on all the good thing he did.
What made this worse was he seemed intent on having the same attitude to Jevons (who admittedly looked soft yesterday). When Jevons was lining up the free kick, he thought he was being clever by saying "if Jevons takes this, the goalkeeper may as well just stroll across his line and pick the ball up"
Luckily Jevons had him eating is words but my question is, why pay £19 for a ticket, £x for petrol, £x for food/programme etc when all you intend to do is sit there slagging off our players. Next time keep your thoughts to yourself or don't bother turning up

I just dont see the point. i had to put up with some n0b against Oldham who was slaughtering Williams, when it was clear to anyone with half a brain that he gets put under pressure by poor balls into him and a lack of options when he does have it.

95% of our fans are great, but we do seem to have a high proportion of annoying fans.
On top of being aggravated at the start of the game by a fat oaf sitting in my seat, a bloke in front insisted on giving me a continuous update on the Leeds score. Don't get me wrong I'm not keen on them but I don't have a running obsession with them.
Why travel all that way to spend half the match looking into your iphone ?
If I was interested in what Leeds were doing I would go to Elland Road. I'm not so I don't. If I want to sit and constantly watch scores I would sit at home and watch Soccer Saturday.

Next time keep your thoughts to yourself or don't bother turning up I thought the back 4 were brilliant yesterday. Of all the 'thirds' of the pitch, the back 4 are the least of our worries. Butler was magnificent and Clarke was as dependable as he has been throughout his great season. Williams did pretty well and Holdsworth did nothing to praise or criticise as usual. If people start criticising players (undesevedly) there is no point in getting cross about it because it is a part of human nature. Other than getting hold of the culprit and physically removing the tongue/vocal cords or murdering him/her there is nothing to be done about it other than grin and bear. The people who get so worked up about insignificant mistakes by their demons either need help or should be avoided in matrimony. Just thank the Lords that you are not afflicted that way.!!

totally agree sosa... Williams and Jevo are poor imo.... Maybe so, still doesn't mean "fans" should sit their and slag them off all game and ignore things they do well. For the record, I think Williams is actually quite a decent player and having a luxury player such as Roberts in front of him means its inevitable Williams will get caught out occasionally

I noticed that Roberts deliberately didn't go wide for Williams to pass to him on numerous occasions yesterday. Robberts was also guilty of wasting a lot of possession, so although he would still be the first on the teamsheet for me, he is also equally, or more guilty of basic mistakes as anyone else. I could be wrong, but I think the guy is in danger of developing a bit of as chip on his shoulder just as he did at Ipswich. Hopefully Clark, Mac etc will spot and deal with this

And of course, your views and opinions and ways of supporting your team are far superior to his......Yes?

If slating your own players is the way that you want to support your team Mich then I clearly should be the one who stops turning up. HTFC need more fans like yourself and like this other lad

Where do i say that's how I support my team? I'm questioning why you think your opinions are so damned important I thought for a moment this was a messageboard where people air their opinions on matters relating to HTFC. Am I wrong? You don't say that Mich, however, you clearly have strong feelings about my post, thus I'm guessing you strongly disagree with my statement and agree with the gentleman in question. At what point did I say that my opinions were "so damned important" In fact I had no problems with the other 99.81% of the away support which suggests I'm very tolerant of other people's methods of supporting Huddersfield Town.

I think a lot of it comes from frustration, from the desire and belief that players are better than they're performing.
It's a 'come on you can do better than that' type moan, which I'm sure we've all had, but with some people it ends in, 'groan, COME ON, get into the game', whereas others just boil over into a basic attack on the player.
As someone said, just ignore it - football fans are all sorts - I for one can't understand the type like the old fella who spent most of the game walking up and down the front at the right hand side with his back to the game trying to get chants going. Fair play to him - but why doesn't he just join a choir if he's not interested in actually watching football?!
We're all Town fans. The team wins draws and loses as a team, and we should be the same off the pitch, there IS a greater sense of togetherness building again in the Town support - MUCH more general patience and more positive backing - I'm actually enjoying watching on a regular basis much more than I have for ages. Defeat or draw sees me looking forward to the next game rather than thinking about every little mistake we've just seen, long may it continue...

On top of being aggravated at the start of the game by a fat oaf sitting in my seat, ..... According to the stewards (when we arrived) at 2:15 we could sit wherever we wanted, they were not taking any notice of the seat numbers on tickets - I actually asked where our seats where - so the bloke may have been fat and an oaf but it probably wasn't his fault he was sat in what you thought was your seat.

it is the fans who have travelled to places like northampton who should be *allowed* to criticise our players. if they have driven 240 miles (round trip) and see players like williams and jevons strolling around not (apparently) putting the effort - surely they are allowed to air their opinions as they see fit?
not sure it does any favours (or indeed harm) to anyone , but there you go.

Yeh the fans who are committed week in week out to watch players such as "Williams playing tosh" have a right to have their say. P.S Williams is tosh my own opinion

Disagree. Shouldn't be exclusive just to fans who make the journey and trips to away games that are far afield. Any fan who puts money into the club should voice their opinions.* *constant barracking of certain players by some is tiresome and annoying agreed.

Yes but it was his fault when I politely asked why he was sat in the seat I had a ticket for (I was meeting up with some other people) and he was rude in return. Thankfully there were some seats on the same row a little further to the side. I hate it when that happens. The same happened at Walsall a few seasons back and it was chaos. I wouldn't mind so much if all the tickets were sold as unreserved seating. The policy would then be clear to everybody from the start.

Williams wasn't brilliant yesterday but he was not at all bad and if he improves as much over the next 10 games he will be a good assett. The only thing that might hold him back are the boo boys since confidence seems to play an unfortunately large part of his game.

Williams is doing ok at the moment, looks quite good at times too. I refuse to slag any of them off at the moment, all are playing their part and none of them are slacking. Roberts dropped a bollock yesterday, but i can live with that because he really cares about the club.
Jevons, Collins and Williams seem to be the obvious targets from the supporters who seem to think the only thing to do every time is "get stuck in".

did you call him a fat oaf to his face? Lets just say that the angry expression on my face said it all. This was tempered slightly by there being 3 spare seats on the same row. I suppose I should have been equally annoyed with the stewards. I dont generally make a point of abusing the 50+ age group (well anyone generally) but I could have made an exception in his case. ;D
