I feel so proud to have a chairman like this; loves the club and puts his money where his mouth is. He could have given us no extra funds for this transfer window, as he spent massive amounts over the summer and we are still lumbered with the large wages of Lucketti and co. Yet the fact that we competing with championship clubs and paying big sums for promising players is a fantastic turn around from the days of Ashquith, Davy and virtually ever other town chairman to date.
Thankyou Deano for giving Huddersfield its ambition and pride back!

Exciting times! Will be getting to a computer at every chance during my day at school, tomorrow! We never had anything like this to get excited about under Davy's chairmanship. And thanks to AntichGeese, for providing seemingly very solid info, that's going to make tomorrow most interesting!

Just hope all this positivity lasts for a few years..... how many times have we got our hopes built up for them to be cruelly dashed...... should be different this time imo.

Was only informing you all. i was joking that his business would be goin down the pan by the way. Mine was just a piece of sarcastic buying into your joke. I should really learn that it is pretty hard to tell when I am being serious/joking without a tone to my voice or facial expressions. I know you know that Deno's not in a crisis!

Card factory couldn't be further from going bust. Another chain called Card Connections have recently gone under ( maybe you're confusing the two?). Card Factory have actually just bought around 80 of Card Connections' stores. The big chain- Clinton's are on very thin ice and their share price has plumetted. One of the main reasons for that ( and others going bust) is that Card factory are cleaning up the high street market share and killing the competition off. If anything ,the credit crunch is helping Card factory's business as people look for better value for their hard earned.

Websites such as moonpig could signal the end for card shops imo. Deano might be looking at this option

No it was def card factory. once again, i was only jokin that they were gonna go bust, i was just sayin i had seen a couple stores had closed down. Doesn't surprise me that card factory are doin well and clintons are not, i went to get a couple of cards the other day and got them for 59p at card factory but would of been about a fiver if id gone to clintons.

I wonder why the card factory in oldham closed down? Card factory is the cheapest card shop around. Maybe the people in oldham are so cheap that they are making their own cards now!
Or...maybe there is a conspiracy and all other football fans have decided that they are never gonna go to card factory so that they are not in turn funding our club and the first place it has started is Oldham.

Just think- this time last year we were heading nowhere fast! Crowd numbers were falling, Ritchie/Dungworth and co. were serving up some terrible, passionless displays and Uncle Ken was showing his usual lack of interest in all things HTFC. Now our 13'500 crowds are doing Mexican waves down at the Pharm as Lee Clark's men - via Stan Ternent - are ripping League 1 to bits*. Were being linked with every decent player in the Football League and money doesn't seem to be an issue! Our new assistant manager - Terry Mac.... THEE Terry Mac - is targeting the Premier League! This time last year we were more likely to be reaching the Blue Square Premier league!! God bless Dean Hoyle et al... *we will be soon enough.
