"I'm afraid its shocking. Heard it on Tues and Sat, what were town thinking when they got that band to do it? "
it was more our idea than the clubs so i guess that answers your question!
the reason we did it was due to numerous posts on here asking why no1 had done an up to date version and saying that they would want to hear them, so we tried to deliver that wish!

If you want to make a song that appeals to the majority you need to do an inoffensive pop version rather than an Indie/Punk/Rock version. I know it's not very rock and roll but that's the direction that needs to be taken to appeal to the masses.
However you should be applauded for making the effort - I don't see many other people doing what you're doing.

i see what your saying but as an indie/punk/rock band thats what you get, we did try toning things down quite a bit! the version we have now was only completed after 3 previous demo that had repeated plays in front of people with different tastes and even different teams!
thanks for the feedback though, we appreciate it!

I personally think if we're going to "redo" this song there are two elements essential to it; 1. The vocals similar to the old bloke in the video we've seen. 2. The trumpet intro that's used on the version that's played at the ground, perhaps this could be built upon? I think the style it best fits is modern orchestral - IMO of course

I can happily sit and listen to this song and think the criticism is a little harsh.
Maybe its because everyone wanted something they could belt their hearts out too, which would be difficult, but give us a few weeks to learn the rhythm!

I apologise if any offence was caused and I applaud you for making the effort. The chosen style isn't to my taste (for the nature of the song), but you are'nt going to please everyone.
I made the assumption that Town had commisioned someone to do it and not that it was an effort by a group of ( or one or two) actual Town fans.
Its just a huge contrast from the original.

I've listened to it a few times now and definitely sounds better on a PC with decent speakers as opposed to the PA system in the ground. I still think it's a little too heavy in parts for the tone and tempo of the lyrics but it's a fair effort and a lot of the unconstructive criticism is way over the top imo. On the plus side when the solo's kick in it reminds me of some sort of Rocky IV type montage but for HTFC ;D In parts I like it and fair play for trying something different - but for a lot of people do remember the old Yorkshire News Soccer AM sketch for us Yorkshire folk in that "Change is not good"

A far cry from Busted or McFly i'd say. The vocals alone set them worlds apart. Obviously, people have different tastes so to a lover of indie or punk rock this is very appealing where, as has been said before, people who like dance and rnb may find it a little hard on the ears.

thank god you said that jamie our singer will be sooooo relieved, i think some people just dont know rock music too well and associate us with what they do know from the mainstream i.e. pop groups like mcshite and bastard which is to be expected i suppose.
each to their own though as you say.

the song is good and sound far better on computer than it did in groudn on sat,
BUT its not the song that will generate the atmosphere the club are after when the team come out. good effort lads but i think its too fast and too rocky for that.
i wouldnt midn a MP3 of it though if you can!
if theres a boxer coming through whoose a town fan he has his ring walk tune now!!!!!

All i really listen to is indie rock but as an anthem for the club this just doesnt do it for me. I'd prefer it to sound more traditional and be sung at the pace the fans sing at the games maybe even a bit slower than that.

The song being made longer means we can stand longer showing our pride and support to the team we love. I hope the song gets played over and over so i can stand there with my arms in the air waving my and singing with my fellow supporters. How can anyone not want an extra verse to say more about our Town. show your support by supporting these guys giving the fans an Anthem that makes the hair stand up on our arms and pride that fills our hearts !!!
