League Division 2 (Championship) 6th
Funny to see that Sadford were still in the bottom division then - some things don't change ;D

Sadly, my year of birth saw Town relegated from the old 1st Division to the 2nd for the first time in their history. Since then our history has been characterised chiefly by mediocrity and the odd minor success.
It's a tough life being a Town fan! ;D ;D ;D

1946 We finished 3rd bottom of the FIRST division (proper name) look at the table for that year and have a smile at the team that finished rock bottom Looking at other entries on this thread makes me realise what an old bugger I am. UTT

8 days before I was born Town ended 19th in Div 1 just 3 points above the drop zone. Chelsea were 1 place and 2 points BELOW Town, and Birmingham and Leicester were relegated.

60/61
We just avoided relegation into the 3rd division by 2 points. Sadford were relegated from the 3rd division and replaced by sadford park avenue.

I was born Fri 8 Oct 1971. Less than 24 hours later whilst being cradled by my mother at St. Lukes, Crosland Moor - a couple of miles away Town were entertaining Man U with legends such as Bobby Charlton, George Best & Dennis Law gracing our dearly departed Leeds Road hallowed turf.
Sadly Town finished bottom spot and were relegated that season from the top flight...but did I care? No. At that age I was just interested in what went in my gut. ;-)

Some interesting stuff there!
I didn't know Luton were almost in the Premier League; relegated the season before its inception.
Also didn't know Norwich finished third in the Prem!
Must be gutting for Oxford and Cambridge fans to look at those tables.

Thought I may be the oldest (occasional) poster, but you beat me by about 6 months. By the time I was born, the league had been abandoned due to Mr. Hitler. At least we only lost 2 games that season. ;D
