Thanks to all those who attended - don't know exact numbers but we had a good turn out.
Dean Hoyle, Nigel Clibbens & Sean Jarvis all spoke in a very open and honest way. Thanks also to Paul Ramsden our match day announcer - diamond geezer.
This club is going places, we all just have to stick together.
Several topics covered including: hotel bills; French strikers; Goalkeeping contracts; striker situation; academy; south stand; scouting; season tickets; favourite town moments; and much more.
Onwards & Upwards TOGETHER.
Cheers, Steve K

no more strikers will be coming in before end of season but will be looking to sign two next season. No chance in getting south stand for home fans permantly but they are trying there dam hardest to sort out odd games again. scounting is in shambles and is going to have a full overhaul. season tickets will defo not be £100 next season and will be going up to around how they use to be.. Tehoue has gone back to paris and its in Fa hands but contract is till end of season and games are running out for him..

"Around how they used to be".
If so I won't be renewing for the first time since we moved grounds. Bad move.

Why?
I'd throw in 4 or 5 home games and end up going to 15+ away games instead of 5 or 6, and away games are a better atmosphere so I'd have a BETTER season...
The only thing that would be missing would be my cash going to Hudds Town. Its their call.

Season Tickets have to go to something similar to what they used to be as we have a loss of 1.2 million with season tickets at 100 pound, what was mentioned was they will take everything into account regards to credit crunch etc im guessing 200-250 for season ticket. Regards to scouting network, it was mentioned that lee clark, looked at the scouts and foudn that there was no reports from a number of them for 4 months, total disgrace when scouts should be taking a game or 2 games a week. South stand is impossible for season ticket holders next season, as nowhere else to put away fans, due to the way the stadium was apparently built with H&S. Was mentioned that the club do not get any revenue from matchday sales e.g food and drink. Smithies has been offered a lucrative contract, but not "Premiership" as quoted by Lee Clark, as the club do not want to get into that situation, if it was to go to tribunal, town would be looking "double" of what John Bostock scenario (which was 750k). Supposed to be a hearing on the tehoue situation with fifa next week sometime, but apprently this has supposed to have happened numerous times now. Academy was mentioned, and it was quoted "we cannot rely on the academy the way we have done in previous seasons". Also was mentioned with Gerry Murphy moving on, the cub can now look forward (reading between the lines here) sounds like Gerry was total reliant on the academy and was holding us back from futher development. Thats all i can remember currently from the meeting, was a success however next time bigger venue! Chilli wasn't half bad either!

They also said that we've offered Cadamarteri a new contract but Deano basically said that how much he got paid was affected by how much he missed through injury - my words. Seems very sensible. All in all I got the impression of 3 people at the top at Town who know where they want to go - forwards and upwards - and how to get there. Deano did NOT say it openly but I certainly got the impression that he wasn't too much of a fan of what the Academy had produced over the years.

Other points i can remember
Danny Cadamarteri has been offered a contract that see's him being paid an amount when fit but if he is injured the amount we pay him is reduced.
Also said that Matt Jansen will not be signing
Pre season friendlies - Confirmed Away @ Wakefield and Away @ Gateshead. Tried to get Celtic but they charge £1m.
Football league are basically on our side regarding the hotel bill.
2 strikers will be signed in the summer
We still dont make a penny from the stadium and that is very unlikely to change
Away fans will NOT EVER be in the Fantastic Media end
The academy has not been producing the quality of players needed and i got the impression that Hoyle didnt want to say too much but was not happy- as has been previously mentioned our scouting is garbage!!!
Chilli was good, but ended up drinking it due to a lack of spoons, dont think they have ever seen that pub as busy!!!

Judging by recent form, you'd be missing out on victories.. Good job I realised 20 years ago I don't support Man Utd then! Away days are miles more memorable in terms of the entertainment value no matter what the result . Today was pretty average, but I bet at the end of the season I'll be able to picture it more clearly than the game on the opening day of the season, which I can't even remember the score of at the moment, although I think we drew? I can remember loads of away days at Stockport, including one game in '97 stood behind the goal where we had brief ludicrous thoughts that Horton had been sacked at half time (I think he went a month or two later), but I can't remember a single home encounter against them. All the home games tend to merge into one, and there's something good about going away for the day, slumming it at some of the god foresaken holes in this league and then having a good old rant about it on the elongated journey home. I preferred Northampton away to Leicester at home. Oldham away was more memorable than the home games against Swindon and Peterborough for example. Next season will be a good one for the occasions I attend...and by the sounds of it, that means it'll prob end up being one my favourite seasons in recent memory if I end up going to more away games and foregoing 15 or so home fixtures. Give me a league next season that has Leeds, Bradford, Forest, or Barnsley in it and I doubt it'd take me long to pick out the 5 fixtures that are actually worth paying for at home!

Completely agree Nige, my favourite game this season for day out and atmosphere wise - Peterborough Away!!! Closely followed by the day on the beer in Leicester. Home games often feel for me more like a chore, the feeling that you have to go as you've already bought your ticket - i dont like missing any games but if i had the option of every home game or every away game i wouldnt need a second to think of my answer!

Hey, I'm not knocking you for that, I love a good away day - today, despite the result was a good one in particular for me. But season ticket prices were always going to go up, and we are in recession now. It makes business sense and hopefully we can still sell 10,000.

Season tickets HAVE to go up. Obvious buisness sense. How do you get a ticket for a lot of away games= Get a season ticket. Vicious circle i know, but if/when we are better next season there will be even more 'Glory Hunters' Also, the price for s/t's hasent been made yet,so whats the worry? Up the TOWN............

I understand that, but given the business climate and the past year that we've had, they have to go up. You've got to decide which you would rather have - higher ticket prices to watch Huddersfield Town, or no Huddersfield Town. It's not that extreme yet, but given the latest figures and talk from the town, keeping the ticket prices that low wouldn't be sustainable.

Just want to say on behalf of HTSA thanks to all those that turned up to the meeting. More than expected and didn't realise so many fans lived in that area.
Extra thanks to Dean Hoyle, Sean Jarvis, Nigel Clibbens and Paul Ramsden - and Steve for organising it - good job done!
Thanks Sian

Re: Cads contract offer.
Just to clear things up, I think he hasn't signed what's on the table as he can ask for a more favourable contact is signed when he's back to full fitness, rather than signing one when he's still not match fit. Hope that makes sense ?

Basically someone asked about our scouting and made the point that the last decent "find" was Danny Schofield, Dean Hoyle basically said our scouting was a mess, Lee Clark looked at a list of our scouts and went through it and hadnt heard from some of them for 4 months!!!! I got the impression things will be changing!!!! It was Lee Clark who spotted Novak, not one of our scouts. I think we the fans have a part to play here, i think if any of us regaularly go to non league or even just occasionally and spot a player we think looks good then it might be worth contacting the club and giving them a heads up on the player.

"Around how they used to be". If so I won't be renewing for the first time since we moved grounds. Bad move. Dean siad a couple of weeks ago at the Spen Valley meeting that "the season tickets would likely start with a 2". To me that seems reasonable. If they were £230 then £10 per home game seems like decent value to me.

South stand is impossible for season ticket holders next season, as nowhere else to put away fans, due to the way the stadium was apparently built with H&S. Not necessarily....in fact Sean said they were looking into the options available to them. How the Safety Committe can complain at Town though when home & away fans sgared the very same turnstile yesterday is a disgrace....we even had to walk through the home section of the stand to reach our own seats!!
