andy holdsworth has had a very poor season, and probably down to the fact he has no competition for a place. as far as being a captain goes, not good enough. needs dropping, his heads been down for ages tbh.
not sure he has it anymore, not good going forward and his defending is nothing short of inept. again another academy 'star' fails to come through.
think we will see big clearout in summer, 2 new defenders, 1 new midfielder and at least 2 strikers.

Do we have any other Right Backs to replace him if he does get dropped? (Not likely him being dropped TBH)

Yep he's had a poor season, no he shouldn't go, yes we need to bring in someone to challenge him.

he s unsettled over a poor contract offer.i know that does nt wash with soccer fans like when off field problems effect performance{administration etc} but sadly it does.dont forget uncle stans early season behaviour also knocked the stuffing out of the players,i know he ll recover and so will the side.just hope its soon.gutted today

He had a poor game today but hes not had a very poor season. Let's not forget that he isn't a right back either, he's a midfielder and it's not going to be easy to shine playing out of position is it.

TBH when I read this thread I thought someone would be moaning that he was awful today. But bad throuoght the whole season? There have been far worse players in the squad than Holdsworth.

We can do and will need better than him if we want to get out this division. Some might not like me saying that but its the way it is

I really like AH, but I have never felt that he was a fullback I wonder where his career might have taken him if Jacko hadn't started using him a wing back in a 3-5-2

He is now offering players what he actually thinks they are worth but cant do anything about those still with over 1 year on their deals

Holdsworth has not progressed as he should have done since he first broke through. He's not quick or strong enough and stands of his man far too much allowing the opposition time and space to run at him. After two strikers, the next priority in the summer has to be a new right back!

The problem with Holdsworth is that he's great in the middle section of the pitch but he's indecisive, soft and weak in the attacking and defensive thirds. He plays great as a wingback and ok as a defensive midfielder but as a fullback or attacking midfielder he just doesn't have the balls... He's symptomatic of our soft approach and I'd personally look for another right back and play Andy elsewhere if he was to get in the team at all.

he's just not good enough......simple but he's not alone thats why im not happy with clark giving these new contracts out and even been in talks with some of them.they have had enough chance with town now and its time to go.nearly men!!!!
my chopping list
holdsworth jevons parker collins ( yes he scores but goes missing for the rest of the game) kamara unsworth booth (just cos he's retiring) glennon flynn denton skarz codman
i would like a clear out of all of the above who im in no doubt get paid too much and lee should be able to bring in a few more pilkington types next year we need strong player to stop us being bullyed like the last few games.
dont get sucked in lee please...... we need to get out this division

I'd personally not play him as a right back but he could offer us many options in midfield so I'd be tempted to keep him but sign a right back if finances dictate. Disagree about Collins though. The way we set up to play can often be detrimental to him. He's a box to box player who does a lot of covering and harrassing but his strength is breaking forward and linking with the front men to score goals and create chances. Unfortunately all of our front men are garbage and can't hold the ball long enough for Michael to bomb forward which often leaves him in no mans land as he's making the breaks but our patterns are finishing prematurely because of our strikers not holding onto the ball.

In which case what does that say!

Holdsworth hasn't had the best seasons, but he could have done a damn lot more than collins and craney in midfield today. I've stood up for collins a lot from ridiculous wuestions such as just what does he do apart from socre goals, win games in the last few minutes and the fittest player in the squad?
But today he needed to have a bit more in his game which he didn't. As for craney, awful. Although most of you on here wanted him to play, as I asked last night, if craney played with collins, who would sit? Pressumably craney? Answer, neither. Sorry lee, nit done much wrong thus far, but as I said y'day, berrett should have started. I think craney was supposed to be doing, but whilst he got a few blocks in, picked up a few loose balls his positioning, tracking back was appalling. Two instances spring to mind 1) Hesitated on thh ball, leading to lucketti's booking and 2) We were attacking a corner, they broke and it was 2 of their attackers v 3 of our defenders, cranet jogged back, hudson-esque, 3 players went passed him and holdsworth managed to get the ball to smithies. Hugely disappointed in craney today.
As for holdsworth, he has the quality, versatility needed. He hasn't had the best of seasons, but as he showed last season, he is a central midfielder who can play right back. As much as thrice et al hate to admit it, he won every award hands down in midfield, made as many asssists as steven gerrard and gareth barr did in the prem and the most in league 1. Yet, according to turnip and many on here, he's not a centre mid. Crazy. Still a good right back
He deserves a new contract, but needs competition. Clark wants him in any case.

he played all his junior /academy football in centre mid.he s a converted full back who usually does well despite lacking pace.his pass completion ratio in mid is as good as it gets.think theres one or two a little short in memory on here.he s one of the most dedicated pro s i ve ever known

I would add craney and worthy to that list. Definitely need a big clear out, we just are not good enough, all over the pitch. I wouldn't of offered holdsworth a new deal, be better for us and his career if he got a new challenge. Our squad is just short on options and quality and big on numbers, Clark has a massive job in the summer to turn that set of clowns into anything like a decent side.
