Play him in his best position. See hes far better than the other players we play there like Craney or god help us Flynn, even Collins . Then decide to keep him cos hes actually a really good player at this level, and as we saw ALL OF 10 WHOLE MONTHS AGO when he was lauded as our our best player by some way, in that midfield role hes one of the few players we have who could make the step up to the championship. If roberts gets POTS in a few weeks, I wonder if people will be on here in 10 months saying how he can't kick it, cant do this, can't do that and we should hoof him out of the club, and other such utter crap? Agree Andy H has done more than enough to warrant a bit of loyalty and perseverance but what's your beef with Flynn !Every time I've seen him play he's looked a quality midfielder, always likely to score and fully committed to the cause. Need more players in the team with the attitude of Cads and Flynn. We need Flynn in midfield rather than persevering with off-form Collins because he might bag us a goal. I'm judging him on what I've seen on the pitch btw not what was said about him on the galpharm grapevine whilst Ternant was being ousted. Always take that kind of bolocks with a huge pinch of salt.

So am I, and what Ive seen on the pitch is a League 2 player. I can't fault his on field attitude and I quite like his spirit ( I was at Cheltenham and heard his 'this is sh*t' bollocking he gave everyone. But he might have been shouting at himself more than anyone in around 16 or the 18 games he played under Turnip. Yeah out of position but his general deficiencies were clear to see. He has a good shot- thats his best attribute and hed get about 10-12 a season with it, but Collins is several levels better as a player with the ball, is far more mobile and fitter and would score more than Flynn anyway.
Personal opinion, we all see players in different lights, but I just don't see him as a league 1 player.

It was pretty clear to me Ternent had it in for the academy lads. Collins started in the team and was poor. Ternent persevered with Holdsworth for the first eight games of the season, even though he was poor. Worthington played under Ternent, who also kept faith with Nathan Clarke when Lucketti recovered from injury. The idea that Ternent was operating some sort of vendetta against academy graduates doesn't stand up to scrutiny. It is quite clear that he thought the academy setup was not doing the kind of job it should. That is what led to his departure. The club sided with those who wanted the club to carry on as before. Ironically, Lee Clark seems to have come to the same view as Ternent that the academy is not producing the standard of players it should. And if you want to talk about those in authority 'having it in' for certain players, how do you view the treatment of Flynn by Gerry Murphy. As soon as Ternent was out of the door, Gerry shipped him out with the lame excuse that he needed to gain match fitness, even though he had been playing in the first team at Town.

If we get rid of Andy Holdsworth, and buy a new RB & they get injured who is going to play at RB?
For that reason alone i'd keep him.

As soon as Ternent was out of the door, Gerry shipped him out with the lame excuse that he needed to gain match fitness, even though he had been playing in the first team at Town. So Collins started a couple of games, only because Ternent hadn't by then found another mediocre player in Lancashire to sign at the start of the season! I mean Craney signed (for a over inflated fee) on the Friday and started the next day without training with his new teammates (?) such was Ternent's desperation to remove old players from the side IMO and replace them with his men He had a proper look, he threw his toys out after about two pre-season games, the Hartlepool tournament was it? Maybe he was asleep when he was at the games watching what Murphy did with the same players at the season's end! But hey at least he bothered to turn up for those games, unlike some reserve games - that's how you give players a proper crack right? His modus operandi is to dismantle a side based on what he did elsewhere, why would it be different at Town? Clarke got back in due to injury and stayed in because even Ternent couldn't drop the second best player on the books this season! As for Flynn, based on the rumour at the time I wouldn't want to work with him so if true best got rid of! Sorry but your opinion of Ternent's literally couldn't be further apart from mine!
