I'm in a quandary. Really looking forward to this game, used to live in Sheffield (the only football league ground I've ever been able to walk to (without being daft)) and my lad has never been. Also the cost above the "norm" pales into insignificance compared to petrol cost to Home games or worse still lost pay for night games. However £28.50 is completely taking the p*** and a stand should be made. If it's a complete boycott (and that means for e.g. no HTSA coaches to the game) I'm in but if it's just a lower than normal turnout, I'll probably go. Good point Andy. Theres no point in a couple of a hundred of us doing this. Needs to be a thousand plus to really hit them where it hurts. Ill forward this thread onto HTSA

If it's a complete boycott (and that means for e.g. no HTSA coaches to the game) I'm in but if it's just a lower than normal turnout, I'll probably go. The problem with that is not everyone that'd be likely to go has the net, so won't know about this unless it's a significant total and is publicised in the paper for example no later than Monday (given the tickets go on sale then), so I don't think there'll be a complete boycott with absolutely no Town fans going, but clearly a fair number have already said no to it.

If we can get this upto 5k plus by the end of the night I will forward to the relevant papers and clubs to try to get more to either support it or get them to drop the costs before tickets go on sale....

I used to live in Sheffield and have loads of friends who are Blades. I was planning a 4 ball with some of them (golf if you don't play) a bite to eat and taking my Dad as well....but not for £28.50 each and sit behind a goal.
This is simply far far far too much cash for third division football especially in these harsh economic times.
This makes Oldham's pricing look reasonable. This will easily be the most expensive league game ticket price I've been quoted and I've been to 70+ grounds watching Town.

Would have gone to this and probably taken Mrs Smooth for a romantic evening supporting the lads. Another £57 off the gate receipts.

Question is what would they drop them to which people would say is acceptable, but also they'd probably say "we can't reduce the price as we'd have to reduce it for our fans too otherwise they'd feel cheated and it'd cost us even more money". Local papers is a good shout, maybe (depending on how it goes) mention it to the local radio stations, and possibly even a national paper or 2 if you feel it'd help. Maybe show that not everyone is prepared to pay silly money just so players can get wages which they basically aren't deserving of (and being honest, stupid player wages at all levels are the main reason prices are so high).

Great shout Adam I feel really strongly about this and feel it should be a united front from all of us
About time fans stood up and be counted and this is perfect time to do it
Ridiculous price from a club thinking its still in the league above hoping to cash in on a big derby and a large traveling away contingent
3x adults that were looking forward to the game now sat at home on town player
