I'm going tomorrow in the end, just because I want... Totally respect the decision of those not going and those who are..
The really disappointing thing for me is how the boycott seems to have started a load of fratching and in fighting on here. I'll be glad when the game's over and we can move on, we're all supposed to be on the same side ffs!!
UTT!

If you didn't want to sound like you think you're a top fan and better than all the thousands who are boycotting Sheffield, you know -the ones who are pretending to support Town, then you might want to read through what you've written before pressing 'post reply', because thats basically how you come across. enjoy the game. Lets hope we get a win. My personal view is that not attending is ridiculous (hence I said ridiculous) for £3.50. I acknowledge that in comparison to £14 for Bury we are being ripped off. I just think not going is not very imaginative if you are a TOWN supporter. I nearly didn't buy a ticket due to the influence of the thread, until I took a few minutes to think about it. I am a bit fed up with the negativity on DATM recently and was offended by the fact that it had influenced my plans for this match (hence I said offensive). If you do not go you are becoming an 'arm chair supporter' for the day. Given how close Sheffield is (15 mins further than a home game for me), that's sort of pretending (arm chair bound) to be a supporter (hence I said pretending). I do not need to read it again, I just expressed my general disgust, and you interpreted my words in general, I meant them to be taken specifically in the context that I wrote them; but I could have moderated my words a bit, instead of being honest. See you at MK then if your not to be dissuaded. You need to get a life! What is it that DISGUSTS you? That others are making a point you don't understand or that they're not No1 fans like you like to think you are? I can't begin to tell you how bad i feel about disgusting you by not going to Sheffield. Ill have to stop being a pretend fan for the night and be a pretend armchair fan instead, as I won\'t even be sat down listening to the radio. Im playing squash. The guilt is too much :suicide:

The guilt is too much I did not say I did not understand, I do not agree; big difference. I repeat I did not say I was a No 1 fan, I do not go to many away games, I am an 'armchair supporter' when it is too far away for me to get back for squash match, or work commitments, or shopping with the misses if I had done that in the last 15 years. My 'general disgust' concerns unnecessary negativity, being tempted by it myself, no counter discussions of going, no debate of how to boycott options, if few go - who wants to go issues, lack of support at close rival early season 6 pointer, lack of pulling together for TOWN as DH requested on Sat, if we don't lose - regret, if we draw - a bit less regret; if we win I couldn't give a sh-t. At the end of the day, I do not agree with 'cutting your nose off to spite your face' simple.

Unfortunately, a number of people on this thread just don't get it! TOWN get a share of the gate receipts, they get better support if more go. If you want to protest at the high price then protest, but do it in an intelligent way that does not penalise TOWN. I have been reading this thread since it was first posted and thought 'Christ that's expensive', 'I really wanted to go to Sheff U'; It put me off buying a ticket! After thinking about it I decided I was not going to be a lemming and follow suit; I would use my own brain and I decided to buy a ticket despite the cost. I then thought a bit more and decided to express my opinion and invite a whole load of ridicule, becuase it might prompt other TOWN supporters think again and go to Sheff U to support TOWN! If anybody wants to organise a protest at Sheff U I will gladly join you and express my objection to the price loudly. But then I will support TOWN at kick off. If you would like some free advise, but you do not have to take it, protest in a way that penalises Sheff U, don't buy their beer, pies, programme etc. Write to the the chairman telling him you are boycotting his beer etc. Encourage other TOWN fans to boycott his beer etc. But, please, don't encourage TOWN fans to not support TOWN, or your loyalty will be brought into question by free thinking people. So you decided not to be a lemming, then subsequently decided to write a lengthy post encouraging other people to be lemmings following you? :iconlol: I think you're underestimating man's ability to think for himself!! I think the players, Clark and Deano will be well aware of the issue here and won't be downhearted by the relatively small following (do the players even care that much about numbers of followers anyway? I'd like to think so, but I'm not that sure...) Anyway I think those that go will more than compensate for the lower numbers by being vociferous, and hopefully we'll bring back 3 points. :udders:

Can someone clarify that we charge away fans the same in the pink link no matter who we play? Perhaps an interesting observation would be that we give away fans a £1 discount compared to home fans sitting in the Pink Link? As an aside, Julian Winter is now CEO at Sheff U. THE Julian Winter. www.sufc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10418~2448199,00.html

Best possible result. Their greed costs them in the region of 100k and we give their team a right cuffing and come back with 3 points. Perfect! ;D

Those who went had a belting time and those who didnt feel justified in their actions and safe in the knowledge it didnt affect the result but did affect sufc's balance sheet... Lets move on FFS!
